Stop giving up your teammates position

Enough already with pointing to a locker your teammate is hiding in it's pathetic.

Four games in a row last night someone was not doing gens and pointing to lockers, shack or basement.

I thought it was maybe a tactic to distract me but no, up pops someone from basement or runs out shack.

And trust me your the one going down not the person you ratted out.

If you' can't be bothered playing then don't but don't spoil other people's games expecially new players who don't know when not to use a locker. They've got to learn the game and have a chance of escape not have some clown pointing out what locker they're in.

Exactly this. Way more killers will work with the rat than not and it sucks when the killers then let the rat go. I always get a good chuckle out of matches where the killers take the rats bait and then kills the rat after to take the 4K. I always tell people “they’re gonna kill you too they just want you to help them get the 4K” but they don’t listen. Serves them right.

Bottom line if we are down to a 2v1 and I get found first I’m gonna take the kill and let my teammate go for hatch. When the killer lets me wiggle down I’ll just sit on gens until they pull me off, bleed me out or kill me. I also like to take the killer across map to lockers I know they’re not in and point at them just to waste time for my teammate to pop a gen or hide. 😆 I’m not giving up my teammate cuz I’d rather one of us at least get out. But when it’s the reverse and my teammate gets found first they always bring the killer to me, hoping to be spared, and more often than not the killer kills them too.

I had this exact thing happen earlier. I was playing Scratched Mirror Myers and when it was down to the final two I saw the Meg was working on a gen then slipped into a locker. The Quentin had been crouching around alot through out the match. He tried to snitch on the Meg in the locker. I downed him and pulled her from the locker. Hooked his ass then gave the Meg hatch. Such a satisfying ending.

yeah, I’m with you on this one. If teammates are hiding and being useless rather than taking chases, rescuing people, or working on gens, I’m going to make sure the killer knows where they’re at

A similar thing happened to me a couple years ago, my friend. If I recall correctly I was playing Freddy on pre-rework Torment Creek, and David tried to snitch on Élodie who worked on a gen, main building I think, then hid in a locker.

Ended up giving Élodie the hatch, and I remember her "Thanks Freddy" in the post-game chat.

Funnily enough, my friend, this didn't happen in the Old DBD.

2021, if I remember correctly. Not exactly the good old days.

I use built to last on about 60% of my builds. I'll also duck into a locker during hook or when the killer gets close. It amused me the people that get bent out of shape.

I just resigned myself years ago that many people are turnips

I know there are plenty of rats who do this but are you 100% sure they knew you were there? I only ask because I’ve had instances where I was pointing trying to be goofy to the killer only to find out after unknowingly I was pointing in the direction of a hiding teammate.

My opinion on this one is complicated. On one hand, I do not like rats. However, I also acknowledge that sometimes a player has it coming.

When I'm playing killer and I'm presented with a player ratting on another player — not just taking chase past where someone happens to be hiding or working on a gen, because mistakes happen — but rather tries to lead me to them, do the whole point and teabag nonsense, etc., my reaction is to injure the person hiding to ensure some pressure, then immediately down the rat. If I can also down and hook the one that was hiding, better still. Like, I'm not going to let the person hiding get away Scott free, but I also don't like promoting ratting.

However, I play enough survivor to also recognize that some players are just sandbagging jerks. Intentionally blowing up gens or failing heal checks to give away your position, watching you slowly die on hook in your face while bagging, double-fast vaulting next to you while you're working on an objective, then hiding to make sure you're the one found by the killer. As to their motivations for behaving this way, who can say. But the result is to make the game an unpleasant experience while also trying to be the last person to escape. So I can understand why a survivor, when presented with a player acting in this manner, would feel compelled to try and turn the tables and rat their position out to the killer.

The problem is that there is no way to clearly communicate any of the context to the killer, and no guarantee on how they'll react. The best solution I can come up with is that if I'm playing survivor and the behavior of a troll survivor has become so egregious throughout the match, the best I can do is just offer them no aid. I won't go to unhook them, I won't offer to heal them, I won't work on a gen with them, and if I see them in the match, I leave the area. I effectively leave them to their fate and do my best to avoid them like the plague.

If I'm playing killer and confronted with a rat and their fall guy, given what I've previously stated, the most fair thing I can do is put both of them in the dying state and hook them both. As the killer, I've got a job to do and that job is sacrificing survivors, so I'm going to try to be as impartial as possible. However, if I actually do witness someone intentionally trying to sandbag their teammates at the start of the trial, I'm not opposed to making them a priority to remove from the match early.

The only thing I dislike more than a rat is a troll.
