How do you counter Plague with Thanatophobia?
Do you just stay injured like normal and suffer the genre regression when everyone gets injured or do you risk her getting her power more for the sake of progression?

you just power through it, yes, don't cleanse until you have to.
that's why thana is meta for plague - guaranteed slowdown value.

It's similar to Legion, you're most likely staying injured most of the time so they'll often run Thana as well.

IMO against Legion it is fine if one Survivor is healed. Preferably healed by someone with We Will Make It or someone who has Resurgence. The issue with Legion is only that they injure very quickly.
But against Plague it is really just staying injured, since her Corrupt Purge is so strong.

SoloQ againts Plague is first of all rare, she is not popular (thank God), but when it comes to countering her with this perk…
It depends on matchmaking dice to roll you decent teammates. If everyone just cleans you are good as dead.

Usually better to just stay injured unless you need to cleanse for a specific reason. Corrupt Purge is really strong and it's usually not worth giving it to her just to remove Thana.
Kinda wish Thana would get a rework because it's kinda too strong on her but on most other killers it's just a bad perk.

Usually the best thing to do is power through Thana, and avoid cleansing, if possible.
Corrupt Purge is extremely strong, it is usually not a good idea to allow her to get it.

It depends on the Plague. I’ve had randoms cleanse and Plagues rarely grab their power or use it very poorly that cleansing was the better option.
Now if the Plague is very aggressive with picking up her power and can use it well, don’t cleanse and just power through it.

Recognize places to take her just for distance, pre-run her. Position yourself with as much vision of the map as possible when doing a gen. Her weapon (gives off smoke in the air) and height make her very easy to spot even if she uses tinkerer, or plaything.
Its all about wasting her time as much as possible.
You CAN cleanse earlier if you spot a fountain that is isolated far away, its better to not cleanse if you dont have to.
If shes running double iri, or any iri addon for that matter (like a match I had yesterday), then you dont wait to cleanse, you spam cleanse.
Perma aura read on throwup is something there is little counter to, and completion of a gen getting red power you may as well cleanse as much as possible.4 -
Really? I see her quite regularly.

Don’t heal against Plague, for any reason, ever. She’s an M1 killer with zero chase power as long as you don’t heal. Totally worth the tradeoff of slower gens. I only wish that my solo queue teammates understood this too…

But I.... Can't....loop

With the changes to surv spawn positioning I've seen a couple of Legions actually get that fourth hit to down a few times.

Yeah much like having the patience and game sense to wait out Oni or Myers in power.

Only reason this is big catch is you need at least one person healty and no (or wery late out of gen area so no snowball can happen) cleanses thats what randoms fail to do they get all infected and then cleansing begins which leads to big bad time fro survivors especialy now when plague spawn of pools was fixed with springtrap doors over chest spawn priority.

If plague has thana one survivor should really try to avoid getting infected and injured. If everyone is infected one should cleanse. Her power is strong but not that strong.

1: keep her as an m1 killer thats easier to loop with no m2 at the cost of slower generators
2: give her a flamethrower for the rest of the match while removing some of the generator slowdown.
Most reasonable choice id say is 1

She's running Thano to force you to cleanse. Thano is just a scary red bar.
