Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Ghoul is very unhealthy for the game

It is absolutely ridiculous how easy this killer is for how strong his kit is. His ability to injure alone is better than Legion’s and on top of that he gets arguably the best mobility in the game, incredibly strong catch up in chase, a vault that is essentially old scamper, and addons that make his already brainless kit even more brainless (centipede, mask).

The small “nerfs” (if you can even call them that?) have meant nothing, this killer is fundamentally broken and these small number changes BHVR keeps making aren’t going to fix it. This killer genuinely needs the skull merchant treatment ASAP

I genuinely sometimes feel bad maining such a hated Killer. At least he's fun to play as.

Definetely not skull merchant was boring even for killers. Ghoul is really fun to play as killer and loopable as survivor you can't just hold W.

There are other killers needing as much nerfs too Springtrap for example I can't stand him. But like I said before maps are too killer sided now.

I used to see way more Blights before Kaneki dropped. Seems most of them switched to Kaneki cause it takes less skill (not that Blight is even hard to learn), and they almost always tunnel for the 4k. Kaneki has basically become the poster boy for killer mains who want 3-4k handed to them with as little effort as possible. You can win with him, but you'll almost never get respect for doing so, cause only the most naive survivors would think his design is fair.

People say he has counters because he's "M1" after first hit but that's disingenuous. He turns every God loop into a 50 50 if he has any idea what he's doing. It's basically Legion standoff but you get downed if you miss the pallet stun.

Too bad because the actual mechanics of the killer are cool if he's balanced correctly. But BHVR can't resist cashing out on his pay to win market, so he secures his position as the most braindead easy to play S tier in the game. Have 10 hours in DBD and want to play in high MMR matches? No problem, buy Kaneki and 4K today!

He needs some actual slowdown upon dashing like every other killer in the game. I'm tired of this mechanic of "Ghoul landed near me and there's not a pallet or window within 6 meters, so I lose."

My rough idea for a rework:

    • Remove ability to injure / deep wound from a distance with power
    • Kagune Leap now has two modes: Grab and Leap.
      • Grab uses a 20m max distance projectile like Deathslinger to grab a survivor; if it connects, the survivor is instantly pulled towards the Ghoul and the Ghoul is pulled forward relative to the distance the projectile traveled (Something like 20-14m = 6m each, 14-10m = 5m each, 10-6m = 4m each, <6m = 3m each) If the two collide as a result of this power, the survivor is injured or downed. This cannot injure over pallets, but can injure through windows.
      • Leap essentially works as it does now and allows free movement using grappling.
      • After using his power, the Ghoul is slowed to 2.3 m/s for 2 seconds.

He retains the 4.6 m/s move speed and mobility to differentiate him from Deathslinger (which is also why it's not an automatic injury from his power) but survivors actually have the ability to try and dodge a projectile or have an extra couple of meters of distance if he chooses to simply land next to them.

Isn't it ridiculous that my Piggy get so ridiculous "buffs" remaining top 3 weakest killers, while killers like Kaneki, Billy, Nurse and Blight exist? Pyramid Head got buffed while he really didn't need it as his weakness is lack of mobility making him miserable to play against people who just prerun.

Since when M1 killers can counter safe pallets and leap in front of me for bodyblocks?
I also have yet to see Kaneki without Bamboozle, or addon for it (which is actually better than Bamboozle)

I am pretty sure it was always safe to drop god pallet in front of M1 killer.

Sounds like people just hate when the danger is real.

Oh no you can't just shift plus w away.... Boo hoo....

You also can't shift + w away from

    • Huntress
    • Springtrap
    • Executioner
    • Deathslinger
    • Demogorgon
    • Wesker
    • Blight
    • Nurse
    • Trickster
    • Nemesis
    • Xenomorph
    • Unknown
    • Dracula

Yet I don't see as many threads about those killers. Wonder why that is?

Oh, right. Because there's skillshots to dodge and punishment for the killer missing.

Because Ghoul is new and strong. And plently of people complain about Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Springtrap, and Dracula…….. those are some of the killers I've seen the most "go nexts" against before the update (bar springtrap, who has gotten threads demanding nerfs)

Hey y'know what, sure let's leave it as is.

Can't wait to see it get the SM treatment instead of the slight adjustments it needs.

Here's the problem with that. Eventually, you're going to HAVE to shift W.

Got to run from that unsafe gen in a dead zone? Shift W. Need to save your teammate from hook? Shift W. Just threw the pallet at a loop and it gets remote destroyed? Shift W.

Literally if you are ANYWHERE, and you need to go ANYWHERE ELSE, you have to make a run for it. It's not like there are filler pallets and windows every 5 feet to guide the way like bread crumbs.

What? The only killer you can't shift+w from from these is Blight and maybe Trickster on some maps. Some of these like Deathslinger are actually countered by Lithe + Shift W, that's why Lithe is banned against Deathslinger in comp

I agree, that Kanekis kit offers way too much effort for the imput that is required. A free injury especially one that goes through walls and stun locks the survivor from miles away, should come with a trade off, see Plague and Legion.

Calling for the skull merchant - treatment will get nobody nowhere. Needing her the way they did was, and still is, unacceptable and a clear indication that they straight up don't know what to do with her.

Constructive criticism is what is needed.

Sure, there are bad apples everywhere. I think however that people don't like to get hitscanned from behind a wall into a stun lock that puts them into deep wound from a killer that can jump across the map in seconds. It's feels cheap and frustrating to play against. With Nurse, Blight and Billy, the danger is real as well. With those however, either there exists genuine back and forth gameplay or the killer (Nurse) is very good at a decently demanding killer. None of this applies to the Ghoul.

Sometimes I dont get BHVR, we got Killers who barely got anything to Kill with, who has to jump through 46 rules just to injure a Survivor and then we have Kaneki who just jumps in my general direction, puts his crosshair over me, Boom free injure! and then just jumps again lands near me as I try to escape, cancels jumps for no cost and downs me.

Like I clearly don't see what the developers see and I'm somewhat good at that, but not here, I'm blind as all hell.

Ghoul has gotten three massive nerfs so far. Can we just start closing these whine threads?

Doesn't mean he got nerfed what was the problem in first place.

I really didn't have problem with his overall range…

I like the "he has free injury, but then just M1 killer"

Since when M1 killers counter hold W, ignore safe pallets, windows and you can't take protection hits against them…
For some reason he even has addon stronger than Bamboozle.

While his ability to injure is better than Legion with lower fatigue and one of best mobility powers in DBD.
