What do you do in hopes the killer sets you free?

I too have had decent results offering up my medkit for my surv's life, less so for giving up a toolbox. Flashys don't work for me at all though.

I crouch down and spin in circles for "operation:act cute"

Not much. I'll just stop and look at them. Try and look cute if the character I'm playing suits it. Maybe crouch and put my item down.

Most of the time the killer has already decided if they're gonna let you go or not.

Drop my item if I have one. If I don't have an item, then I just accept my fate.

I only offer up my item as a thank you after they've already decided or sometimes as kind of an apology if they had a rough game.

One time I had a chest defender Bubba when I was running a loot goblin build. I spent half the match running to other chests to bring the Bubba items. I miss those silly times.

I used to be able to get a hatch by dropping off items like this but it doesn’t work out for me much anymore.

I do get decent results when I willingly offer myself up at end game though. If I’m the last one, instead of trying to find hatch I go out of my way to find the killer and I’d say about 30% of the time they will give me hatch. But only if I’m the very last one. I used to offer myself up if it was me and one other person, (to give the other person a chance at hatch) but ever since the AFK changes and stuff, I’m typically just slugged while they find the other survivor so I don’t recommend offering yourself until it’s only you left.

As a killer, I can tell you what to do. And what works with me. Either show me you are on quest, like, for example, animation you are picking crystals or something, or trade your "rat" teammate.

From killer side of view, killer very quickly finds out survivors skill level and how good they are, and there's usually "that teammate" who's free to sell you.

For example I had game where Sable and Kate were only players left on 4 gens as I very quickly killed their teammates and leaving both on dead hook. Sable was more of a noob player and Kate was experienced. I really wanted to spare Sable as she gave up while Kate was playing Stealth game waiting for her death. Well, I managed to find Kate and Sable got the hatch.

On another game I had new DND survivor player(don't it's name) and Nea selling everyone while hiding in locker. That player helped me find the "rat" and got hatch for it.

In one game we had "survivor duck dance". It was hilarious and I let everyone go….

So what can work to befriend the killer:

    • donate item
    • roleplay (bartender, cashier) can work on some maps
    • play for them (bardic inspiration)
    • do something funny with Pebble, or Plot twist
    • trust fall (drop to them if you are on high ground and they stare at you)
    • boop the snoot (Pig, Dracula, Xeno)

Also possibility is to simply do something silly, I like staring at killer from behind the corner (Jeff painted face). So you could say Ghostface roleplay.

If you can "hoard" several items, then bring killer to it and crouch next to it, or even better play with Bardic inspiration, it can work very well. We have done it with Christmas theme skins. Usually like 4/5 killers then let us leave.

Sometimes I use Bardic Inspiration just so I can tame the Killer. But be cautious, you might get reported by a Stealthdette because you were "teaming up" with the Killer against her, while you were just standing on a hill playing your guitar.
