So let me get this straight. This game is a bad joke now.
Let me get this straight. Stop me if you've heard this one:
Super fast gens, instant healing ( while running ), second chance perks and built in borrowed time, pallets and windows around every single corner, faster survivors at running, I am not allowed to tunnel, camp, or slug,(perks and built in resistance to the acts), They can give a hook state back to a survivor so you are FORCED to hook them 4 times now instead of 3, for a 13 or 14 hook state game vs 5 little gens that will fly to completion during only 2 chases, and now they give them stunning you through windows, rebuilding broken pallets that you had to get looped painfully through to even break, SMOKE BOMBS?!?! and you can no longer punish the survivors for putting themselves in the situation of having 3 gens close together, because there are diminishing returns on kicking gens now. #########!?
Secondly if you happen to pull off a win, the toxic, entitled jerky survivors don't even have to face their defeat now. They can simply DC for free so all you get at the end of your strife are bots. ######### happened to this game?!
For those who will comment on it being a skill issue, the answer is this; there is no skill anymore. No skill on survivor side and no meta human killer players who can withstand all of this at the MMR a veteran like me is faced with. No more gas-lighting.
This game is a joke now. A laughable shadow duplicate of its former self. Killer players are NOT allowed to win, and the devs make it blatantly clear. I have played since beta, and I am a very skilled player. I have forced myself to adapt to all of the changes over the years and gotten better with each update, but this… this is likely going to be my breaking point. Nerf all killers, buff all survivors. Empower the entitled. -End of line-

Idk about everyone else but I did have Doomposting on my Update Bingo Card.

If you're willing, I have a couple notes.
- While gen speeds aren't slow right now, there's also only one thing left in the game that makes them too fast for the killer to keep up. If you aren't seeing toolboxes, gen speeds are something your gameplay can affect. Additionally, BHVR made a change recently to benefit killers in this regard, because all survivors spawn together now by default- that's huge for early game pressure.
- A lot of maps recently have been weakened to not have pallets and windows available in extreme abundance. There are some still in the game that are unbalanced, though.
- You're very much allowed and able to tunnel, camp, and slug. You have to play around answers on the survivor side, but in tunnelling's case those answers aren't even all that good for the most part. No sense freaking out about changes that haven't happened yet.
- This is a big one - Shoulder the Burden does not refund hook states, it just shuffles them around. It's not a fourteen hook game, you still have to hook survivors the exact same amount of times overall.
- The rebuilt pallets are fragile pallets, so they break when they're dropped. Significantly weaker, that perk isn't good, don't worry about it.
- You can very much punish the survivors for 3-genning themselves, it's just that now the punishment is you get to win the game more easily, not stall it out.
I'm not saying there's no problems, but most of the things you've listed aren't really all that threatening or concerning in their proper context.
Maybe it's time to take a break for a bit? I take pretty regular breaks from this game when I get frustrated with it, and it's helped me engage with it in a much healthier way overall.7 -
killer mains are overdosing on copium after this update…relax, the devs still inflate your kill rates to ensure you win more by design. you're gonna be okay learning to overcome a little challenge once in a while.

"Super fast gens" = Gen speed hasn't changed, if anything they take longer to complete than in the past. What's changed is Killer's way of dealing with them with regression perks being toned down but still being objectively the best perks overall. Including the gen blocking perks like Grim/DMS as well of course
"instant healing (while running)"…? - Do you mean syringes? They aren't instant. Not by default at least. The other 'instant heal' perks have a lot of requirements and some of them are super risky to use like Clean Break. Healing speed yeah is quite fast right now given medkits and perks I will say that's true
"Second chance perks" - Both sides have those. Survivors have perks to keep themselves in the game longer, Killers have perks to keep the match going longer. You can say the perks on one side or the other are stronger but objectively both sides have so-called 'second chance' perks.
"Built in borrowed time" - This is true, but it was added because without it tunnelling someone off hook was insanely rewarding and you'd be throwing by not doing it. Borrowed time made it so survivors off hook had at least SOMETHING to work with. It's not like I can choose when I'm unhooked.
"Pallets and Windows around every corner" On some maps sure, but a lot of maps have been completely neutered and are deadzone city (Haddonfield, Fractures Cowshed etc).
"I am not allowed to camp tunnel etc" yeah you are, it's just not as easy as in the past. There's more perks to counter these playstyles now but you can still do it
"Forced to hook 4 times now" - If you're tunnelling someone who had Shoulder The Burden used on them, yeah. The unhooker will die in 3 hooks. Also you don't LOSE the hook state, it goes to someone else. It's not technically a net loss overall even if it upsets a tunnel oriented gameplan.
And finally, the ultimate thing that made me wanna respond
"There is no skill on survivor side". That's just wrong man.

I am willing to believe that it's stressful and Killer goes on losing streaks too. But I still can't help but feel like they're first world problems, for lack of a better term. The fact that something like basekit BT is even worth bringing up is wild.

All this you comment on is a consequence of the fact that they have no intention of people learning to play their game. The killers continue to kill according to their statistics and they will surely continue to do so, since the average player is terrible. They are keeping their stats in a contrived way, they don't even care if the game is no fun for anyone.

I don’t agree at all with the OP, but what are you taking about with “devs inflate your kill rates to ensure you win more by design?” Are you implying that you think the average kill rate of 60% is too high? If so, fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion, but I could see things flipping very quickly from “too many people don’t want to play survivor” to “too many people don’t want to play killer” very quickly if the devs attempt to shift that average kill rate down closer to 50%. We’ve seen it happen before. I remember how long survivor queues were before the infamous 6.1 patch.

What’s your average kill rate? Was this post triggered by one bad match, or are you consistently getting lower than the average 60% kill rate? If you’re at 60% or higher and still feel like the game is unfair for killers, just my opinion but I think you may be the entitled one.

The thing I hate the most over the years is the removal of a lot of skill needed for macro for survivors. 70 second hook stages allow for at least 15 seconds more of gen time before someone needs to be saved. But oh wait reassurance is a thing and even then you don't need multiple people for a save anymore unless its a specific killer because they can just waltz up and 1:1 for practically free. You can't stand too close to hook anymore for pressure because anti-"face"camp allowing for easier trades. It's absolutely miserable to play an M1 in modern dbd. I was fine with basekit BT but then they just kept adding and adding.
And it's only getting worse for M1s with that one perk that allows you to vault stun that changes your hitbox so you in practicality vault faster. And then you have people still wondering why they only see Dracula, Blight, Nurse, Spirit etc.-3 -
As a solo player I remember all too well the days of praying your teammate had Borrowed Time when you saw them running for the unhook with the killer hot on their tail. If they didn’t you knew all too well you were going right back on.

Theres no 13 or 14 hook states games...

Killers complaining about anything these days is really astonishing. Its a total joke.

That's just the "free space" spot mate
3 -
But popular streamers are saying killer is harder these days. Are you saying their opinion isn't the same as objective reality? Gasp!

I set my free space to "gamebreaking or balancebreaking issue does not get Killswitched". Last Stand already gave me that.

EEdit: thought this was a different thread lmao, sorry

Some of you have nit-picked certain aspects of my post to counter on. Some are worthy entries, but many have over-looked the part where winning is unfulfilling, due to bot replacements for end game quitters. I.E. entitled survivors whom cannot handle seeing themselves lose so they DC without penalty, and all I get are bot mori's. How is this supposed to be engaging? If it is not the responsibilities of the devs to entertain us all, then who's job is it?

Awww, bot mori's don't allow you to live out your little sadist power fantasy?
My bottom lip protrudes for you.1
