Did Milestones get nerfed?
I have played about 15 games since the update yesterday and I have barely gotten passed Tier 1 milestones for both killer and survivor. I remember when Orela came out, the first couple tiers flew by and it felt great to feel like I was progressing pretty fast.
However, it feels like they've made them grindier? I suppose they felt the first iteration was too easy to finish? Also I noticed that instead of giving an extra 10+ Rift Fragments for each tier, so it started with 10 at tier 1 and 100 at tier 10. Now it seems to be locked at a solid 25 rift fragments per milestone? At least tier 1 and 2 seems to be the same, except tier 2 grants 20k bloodpoints instead of 10k.
Anyone further ahead who can tell if the rift fragment rewards get bigger? If not, then that's a huge nerf for the milestones.

yes, they nerfed them roughly by 55%
people complained really hard about the new system being predatory and BHVR didnt fail to prove them wrong by making it twice as bad
64 -
It's really sad. :/ I suppose doing all your dailies now grand you a full level, but still. Making them grindier and giving less rewards kinda sucks. At last at the third stage, it's still only 25 rift fragments. So instead of getting 5 levels per full milestone, now it's only 2.5. :/
16 -
Yes. This is an issue, please revert BHVR.
27 -
Hook 150 survivors as step 2. Wow
39 -
The previous milestones were kinda easy tbh, but they over did it on the new one.
36 -
Hook 300 survivors at part 3?! Jeez I wonder what tier 10 is.
30 -
I ground out the 20 trials in one day and it was miserable, putting it mildly. I'm genuinely shocked I managed to escape 8 times.
19 -
Why aren't more people talking about this? These quests are beyond ridiculous
36 -
Probably because these are undocumented changes, so people don't realize. Though this is just insane
23 -
So it's a fixed 25 RF per milestone now instead of an increasing number 10-100?
Who the hell greenlit this decision?20 -
Milestones got nerfed extremely hard both in terms of rift fragments but also in how grind heavy they are. At the same time, daily challenges got "buffed" from 3 to 4 per day and each one rewards more fragments. This looks like a calculated move to introduce more fomo into the rift and "encourage" players to log in daily. Maybe I'm wrong but that's the impression I'm getting from those changes.
28 -
FOMO at it's finest.
I can't wrap my head around them getting feedback about the new Quests having FOMO elements and saying, let's make it even worse.
21 -
Milestone quests give 17.5 tiers total instead of 38.5 tiers total. This while also being more grindy! It was the most reliable way to level up the pass. When they came out they were incredible to make you feel like you progressed fast. Now it's such a slug to get through.
You're probably right they buffed dailies to add fomo. I hope a devs can give some kind of insight into their thought process. Did people complete the rift too fast last season? Or why did you feel the need to nerf them?
13 -
We should keep bumping this thread to the top until we get some official confirmation.
14 -
They just want us to keep playing more. I kind of liked not having to log in every day to complete the rift. I was hoping to take a step back from this game, especially with the return of the go-next prevention, but now I fear I won't be able to.
11 -
I'd rather them be easy to complete because I play DBD on and off, and up until now, the rifts have been, IMHO, one of the most generous battlepasses I've seen in games, which is a good thing, compared to other games where you have to grind your butt off playing multiple hours every day for months.
4 -
Ya it's more like a threat than an encouragement lol
6 -
And that, sadly, is exactly the result they were hoping for.
5 -
This is beyond obnoxious

Damn. I've been meaning to write a post praising BHVR for the new quests system. Glad I didn't. I was someone who wasn't a fan when it was announced and didn't like it at all. Though I came to like it. I liked there was always a quest for me to do. I wasn't able to get all the milestones done (escape and sacrifice) and some of the quests in the later weeks. Considering this I was glad I didn't have to do all my daily quests to still get the rift complete. As someone who always purchases the premium rift I will be reconsidering this time around. I'm not paying for a rift that I might not be able to complete without grinding away like crazy.
What a kick in the guts.
9 -
I instead wrote a post pointing out the pros and cons of the system.
There is stuff to praise, but also stuff to be angry about.
1 -
To be fair, there were complaints about the dailies being too mediocre.
Oh well, maybe there'll be other bonus quests (i.e. 2v8 or other event quests) that'll give us more fragments to help us complete the rift.
1 -
Maybe wait until the last week or so before the rift closes and see how far you get before deciding whether or not to get the pass? Like the last time, maybe it's not as bad as we fear.
1 -
II Really liked the new quest system, except the quests were boring ans uninspired compared to the old one. However, milestones made progress feet fast in the beginning, so it felt like I was actually levelling up at a decent pace. Then when I finished all Milestones and hit around lvl 60 in a couple of weeks, things slowed down, but it was okay cus I knew events and weeklies would be released.
Right now, it just feels so sluggish because Milestones take forever to finish and the rewards are just not worth it at tge moment.

Oh no … :-(

❌ Introduce interesting and engaging challenges in new quest system
✅ Consider your player base as idiots, increase the milestone cap to make them grind
13 -
Still waiting for an explanation from a dev team member about this absurd and downright disrespectful increase in the overall Rift grind.
Most of us have a life and a job and can't or don't want to play every single day you know.
11 -
This was the original complaint when the quest system got brought out in the first place.
The fact that many players simply don't have the time to grind out all the milestones, as compared to the tomes, which gave much better rewards per hour of play.
And now it has been made even grindier? Just why?2 -
Yes, I remember those complaints from the release of the new quest system, so I have no idea why they made these changes. Did people really complain about the milestone quests being "too easy?"
1 -
There were legit people in DBD communities complaining about the quest and Rift system being "too easy." It'd be sad to learn the devs decided to listen to them. I did find it quite simple but considering there are folks who get very little time to play this game, I felt that was a good thing.

funny the outfits are not that great to begin with.
3 -
bet the ones complaining are those who have no life and play everyday or they play dbd for a living.
5 -
I absolutely despise this. Not to mention that when they introduced the new quest system they made it so gaining one level requires you to play 20 matches (5 rift fragments every 500 xp; 5*20=100) instead of 10 matches how it was before (1 rift fragment every 500 xp; 1*10=10).
1 -
It's legit scummy and sadly par for the course, but I will say that events eat up a lot of the rift. I wasn't sure I was going to complete the last one but just staying up to date with events maxed it pretty quickly. Let's hope that's the same still.

Bruhh

They shouldn't of complained. The new system benefits the procrastinator far more than the last system. My friend completed the entire event tome in 12 matches in one sitting 2 days before it closed.
-3 -
If having young kids and a full time job is "procrastinating", sure. For someone who only has a chance to play a handful of matches every few days. I'm not so sure if it is more generous but I think they got a fair balance with the new quest system.
I haven't played since the update and I haven't looked closely at the changes. Maybe it won't be that bad. Thing worries me if they are willing to up the commitment level right after the first iteration will this be a trend every time.
As for the event tomes, I think they should be relatively simple to complete. I didn't get them all complete but was able to get everything unlocked. I'm fine with that.
4 -
Maybe the last one, but not anymore, at least I think.
If I counted it correctly, you either have to play and complete all daily quests for 30+ days on top of milestones and rift pass quests, or complete the event stuff.
1 -
They said that about the last one too. But there were event tomes and alt mode tomes to boost you along without the dailies.
-1 -
@ThatRyanB Can we please get an official statement about the current quest system? Or maybe just a confirmation our complaints about it have been seen and reported to the dev team? Thank you.

…They really need to revert this change.
20 -
I've been thinking some more on it, and I will say that perhaps this change is to keep those who play day in and day out happy. Which is fine. But they need to also ensure that the fragment rewards are high enough that those who can only play minimally because of work, family, and social commitments, can still comfortably complete the Rift. I personally dont care if I complete the Milestones, but if I'm paying for the premium Rift then I want to know i can still progress playing casually. That's always been the case in the past. So i'll see how I go by the end of it.
7 -
I'm glad there's barely anything I want in the Rift because this grind is exploitative.
8 -
Really hope the progression is absolutely nothing like this because those numbers are crazy.
I don't know if there's reason to worry just yet, but in any case the Rift should never make the game feel like a grind. It's a little more justifiable when a game is free but this is not a free game and players do pay extra for the rift.
Changes like this might backfire on BHVR, since casual players will be less likely to pay for the premium Rift if they know they won't be able to complete it in time.
7 -
That's a lot....
2 -
It does worry my a bit that this thread is being ignored, despite being fairly active for 2 days now
12 -
No wonder why the killers are so menacing nowadays. I would get pissed too if I was asked to do 5k hooks.
