feeling a tad deflated after the recent 2v8 news
I'm not ungrateful, but I feel like sad Spongebob right now. I've been antsy for some new Killers for a long time.
I need the Unknown :(
I thought for sure dbds most successful licence would have expedited Springtrap at the very least.

They are doing the play till you wait feature - which is probably way more important than any new killer right now.
If this works this will be really good for the queue times.

Well, most likely Quality of Life Initiative is to be blamed for it. Everything "unnecessary" was simply pushed back.

Its a shame however because of it there isnt a new incentive to play as killer, and then with the addition of play while you wait it will hopefully have an impact on q times

- 2VS8 has a huge waiting problem, luckily they didn't add new playable killers, otherwise the situation would have only gotten worse. On the contrary, I would have added a new mechanic for the survivors, something that would encourage them to play 2VS8.

I dont think it really will be, its just instead of waiting 10 years in queue you'll be able to play but "wait" around the same time ultimately anyway because if anything there would be even more killers in queue since you arent stuck waiting in a lobby anymore.

They're nerfing Legion!? So Wesker, Oni, Blight and Nurse get to be completely busted in this mode but not little old Legion. It will be the first time a Killer has been nerfed in this mode not because they're strong, but because all the other Killers are so ridiculous. Cool, cool… Thanks BHVR. I swear, Legion is not allowed to be a decent Killer in any game mode. So frustrating.
I'm glad to hear the guide class will be buffed to have something other than doing boring gens a bit more quickly. Plus I'll get to play some Survivor games before being destroyed with my main in every trial. So there's that at least.

From what I gathered from the recent live stream, it sounds to me like they are reverting Legion into essentially the base game Legion for next 2 V 8. They will be able to down Survivors with their power sooner (kind of a buff, but not really). With the downside to that being they won't be able to chain hit as many Survivors, reach as many KI targets or cross as much of the map.
Big nerfs, tbh. Survivors will be able to knock them out of their power really early with all the pallets on the map before they can get up to speed and they'll arguably be a worse Killer than they are in the main game.
You are right, though. Players have convinced the devs that Legion is the problem and not the other absurdly buffed Killers. Not that 3 dash Wesker and turbo Oni needed any help from a Legion to do well, but it's whatever. I'm used to Legion being a bottom teir Killer and it won't stop me queuing up to play as them.

In all seriousness though, I am glad they're trying to address issues like Guide being boring, Escapist being more fun in their earlier iteration, Legion balancing and of course killer queues. I'm glad whenever they take time to fix old stuff instead of keep adding new things, ignoring issues.

I am with you. Big thumbs down hearing they are changing Legion and shaking my head at the double standard. There are no other killers I am interested in playing in 2v8 besides legion, and seeing as they refuse to add Pig it's like ######### me I guess. No fun allowed so I'm just sitting this one out.

i probably wont play this 2v8 much due to the inclusions in this one for killer. i dont stand in the crowd saying legions nerf will kill him in 2v8 (they didnt specify how far back the nerf is going or give an exact number of hits afaik for the feral frenzy, so they might adjust it to be still above 5 hits but below 9 for insta) but with the only confirmed changes we know killer is getting is that and them nerfing the shadow class, it just seems like a lame roll out to play as a killer who played the last few.
and the reward is… getting to play as survivor while i wait for killer? oh gee… thanks… i love 2v8 survivor….. which is why im not playing it…..

This 2v8 has potential to be the most hellish one for killers.
They are giving new things just for the gen rusher class. HIGH chance all lobbies will have four of them.
You wait 4 minutes for a match that will last 4 minutes. Perfectly balanced like Thanos enjoy.-3 -

it's a bad example, but I would 100% never played those killers if I had Cenobite.

Yeah, having no one to play is often a problem in 2v8. It is one of the reasons why I believe the mode should happen less frequently, if that means each new iteration will have more killers to play (more than two new additions per iteration, I mean).
Because if players are locked out of their favorites, and most of the roster in general, you'll see the same combinations over and over again.

- The problem isn't Legion, but the absurd benefit all the killers in the game get from it. Oni is the strongest example, but Legion makes Nurse (for example) capable of one-hit downs (since everyone plays perpetually injured), effectively making Nurse even stronger here than she already is.

So, the Legion problem is that they are actually viable and useful character in a game mode that is heavily survivor sided? That they gave their team a chance to win through slowdown and building pressure, not just being relegated to gens flying in the first 5 minutes? Interesting.

Don't forget that Legion don't have a reliable way to down Survivors with their power like the other Killers. A Legion unable to generate pressure is the worst Killer partner you could have in this mode. I've had Killer and Survivor games where this was the case but people act like having a Legion on the team is a free win for the Killers. It's not.
Granted, they might be able to down with their power a bit more often in 2 V 8 with more targets to chase, but all it takes is a well placed stun and then it's 15 seconds before they can try again.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can only think of Killers that got buffed in 2 V 8 and no other Killer has been nerfed as badly as this. There's no way these changes are for balance reasons, certainly not with all the other busted stuff that's allowed to exist in 2 V 8. It's happening because players complained about a Killer they find to be annoying.
