Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Might as well give the Clown instant mori

If you're gonna have him zooming around the map at 500 miles per hour as his intended gameplay you may as well make it so he instantly kills any survivors he comes into contact with.

    step 1: join 4 man

    Step 2: vigil stack

Step 3: pray to the entity for it loves all

I honestly don't see it. Maybe its because my clown builds feature no slowdown in favor or more haste, maybe it's because I'm, only a "decent" killer main, hell, maybe it's because I haven't played clown in over a year, but so far, every clown match I've played since the 9.1.0 patch, have been a race of how fast I can hook survivors vs. how fast they can complete 5 gens, and "Spoiler alert" I usually get 6-7 hooks by the time there's 1 gen left, and typically at least 3 escape.

I kept asking myself… "WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? ISN'T HE SUPPOSED TO BE BRAINDEAD AND BROKEN NOW?" and I just don't see it! Hell, I even adopted a build from the guy who wrote the 350+ page clown guide, and STILL found myself falling short. I know it's not that I'm on a higher MMR, because of how long it's been since I played Clown, which should put me in the much lower sbmm/mmr range, and while my chases are over with very fast (less than 20 seconds), I just can't keep up with how fast the gens are finishing.

I've adopted the "2-down" strategy, wherein you down one, and immediately chase, down and hook another in order to get the remaining 2 off of gens to come help their teammates, and that at least won me a couple of matches, but Just doesn't work if, after you down the first one, there's no one else in the immediate area to chase. Overall the strategy is heavily flawed, and outright doesn't work against a swf, but as far as strats go, it's the only one with the new clown that actually worked.

in summary: Either survivors are too strong atm, or I'm just a ######### clown player, because these buffs that make him "braindead" or "Overpowered" aren't doing anything for me. If you want evidence of this, Just watch my latest Video on Kick (TWiXT_Pr1me) and see for yourself… hell point out where I went wrong too, I could use some tips.

If at first you don't succeed tunnel, tunnel and tunnel again.

Yeah I've been playing him a little too, out of curiosity, and it's kinda whatever. If my online stats are to be trusted (which I don't) I've gotten a 67% kill rate, which puts him about middle range for me.

it just proves to us that Hold W gaming is the dullest part of the game where survivors can chain loop from tile to tile with the help of Windows of Opportunity. Clown completely counters that now and suddenly the survivors cry and whine about it. Figures.

Why killers can't be buffed. While his slowdown of survivors was nerfed the speedup of himself was buffed. Apparently this was an mortal sin.

But isn't he objectively stronger now? Many here are saying he's brain dead mode which would indicate he is overall stronger. They say he was more skillful before but doesn't being stronger negate the need to be that skilled? If they made him more complex, wouldn't that be seen as a nerf? Skill comes from overcoming weakness. Removing weakness removes the need for skill.

boring seems to be the criticism when killers get buffed.

the tunneling/pick rate has gone up through the roof. And the DCs upon hearing the terror radius music is moth so than any killer I’ve seen is a while.

What did you expect from killer who has great antiloop but no mobility if he has no target the tunneling is most consistant and rewarding option he has dont you think and some survivors who save dont think about rescued teammate they will just hide and let killer to follow the marks even if they werent hooked and their teammate is dead on hook, or they will save you when killer is just 10 meters from hook and hide then they scream on killer in chat he is tunneling pleb but the fact they farm their teammates like cattle is key problem they dont see.

Read back what I've said already.

Even then, I bet most of the complaints wouldn't exist if they just buffed the speed bottle to 12% and left everything else the same. The criticism of the yellow bottles is just an outburst to the changes to the purple. Why is there a difference between speeding up the chaser over slowing down chased anyways? Both result in the distance being closed. Is it intriguing slowing a survivor to a crawl for a hit?

The difference between purple and yellow bottles is their skill expression. With purple bottles you have to predict the survivor's general pathing in order to slow and potentially get a hit, as a survivor you can path unpredictably to throw Clown off to waste bottles and potentially avoid being hit. It's not like Clown has a sky high skill ceiling but there is nothing expressive with pressing a button to move faster.

They made him more brainless than wraith and he is more stronger on loops, before he was for majority annoying to face but he took way more skill to use espicialy with yellow now you just throw only yellow and sometimes purple but only on loops where survivor is locked and cant just run away use yellow and purple but purple only slows in the purple gas only now the 1 second lingering hinder is joke. Somewhere I heard he will get rework and skullmerchant, trapper too, trickster will get some changes too but that will be like in 2026 first will be merchant rework near end of the year.

Fun fact; Clown got killswitched in 2022 because of a glitch allowing him to permanently have the yellow bottle effect.

I made a similar reddit post about this and it seems Clown's "main" strength with this build is the ease of tunneling. If you play normally he's still a race between hooks and survivors on gens which survivors can usually win. If you hardcore tunnel the first survivor you find asap you can turn the game into a 3v1 early, and the haste stuff makes it easier to do this.
