We finally have 3 weeks of normal queues, but...
The game is such a mess we can't enjoy this.
There's no denial that since BHVR introduced the separate queues way back it created the issue of screwing up the normal queue. Takes longer to find matches and because of this the search opens MMR so much that sometimes you're paired with literally pro players.
Like I think Chaos Shuffle is trash, so instead of playing the game I don't play at all until it ends because I don't like this modifier + the aforementioned issue with the normal queue.
We all wanted new game modes and modifiers, but just throwing in a way we don't even have 10 days of normal gameplay is frustrating.
I think we never had 3 weeks of normal queue in a row ever since split queues were introduced.

I still think only modifiers should have split queues, events like Halloween or Anniversary should go in the regular queue, the way it used to be.

i would agree but with the way they’ve been doing events recently, i’d have to push for the continued split queue for events. for events like blood moon 2025, twisted masquerade 2024 & 2025, and Haunted by Daylight 2024, those events fundamentally changed how the game was played and forcing every player to play with those mechanics would seem wrong. i personally only played killer in regular queues during the recent Blood Moon because the addition of blood gens were very uninteractive for killers and removed a majority of useful perks that are a core part of the killer gameplay. imagine forcing every killer player to deal with blood generators for 3 weeks no matter what or survivors having to deal with remote pallet breaks and remote hooks for 3 weeks no matter what.

Guess we wouldn't have these issues if MMR in this game was something that actually works…

Thats sadly not fixable with a better mmr. The only solution would be if you would wait an insane amount of time, bc there are almost no casual player in the normal lobby.
And without the split que you would be forced to play for example Chaos shuffle. The only solution are less gamemodes/events.
I personally enjoy the better chance for good teammates, but for newer killer it can be annoying.

To be honest, my friend, I had forgotten about Blood Moon.
However, last year's Haunted by Daylight didn't need a separate queue, imho. I think events which add a couple new features don't need to split queues, but the ones that drastically change the game, like the modifiers or this year's Blood Moon do.

Playing as surv with split queues while you play the normal queue indeed is better.
Blood Moon I exclusively played normal because the evt itself was giving WAY less BP.
BUT the last time I tried to play killer in the normal queue while it was split I literally faced a pro team. Don't remember the nicknames now, but it was indeed pro players. I just played like an ######### because I didn't wanted the headache.0
