Did Milestones get nerfed?
Comments

my point exactly!
3 -
No it doesn’t, only your hooks count and in the previous 2v8 the hook count was bugged for milestone quest.

It's insanely low, but this Thread has been relevant for a week now and they still have no given any kind of comment. So it looks like this is how it is. They don't care about casuals. :/
Was giving hope maybe they would communicate more after the whole Killswitch situation. Now's where they gotta try to get back in the communitys good graces.7 -
very disappointing, I think anyone would I agree that any kind of mission or quest that requires you to do something over 2000+ times, while be time limited is crazy. Come on, we just want the numbers decreased. We are not asking for easy but doable!

damn this is awful then
1 -
By the way, if you didn't know, if the cheater will kill you quickly, you will also receive a go next penalty, turn it off immediately, this system should not exist at all!

Here to chase away the crickets.

I wanted to do the same haha! 😂 we gotta keep this thread going

We will not stop necro this thread until we get an official statement.

The new battlepass on the first iteration wasn't perfect but it felt like it could have been great if fine tuned. The numbers could have been lowered or kept the same and it would have been okay. With the higher requirements on the battlepass I honestly don't feel like playing because I have a life thank you very much.
Does anyone who has a job and social life actually believe the numbers were too generous prior?

Sadly with everything going in, Bhvr seems to be going through their villain arc. I doubt we'll be hearing anything from them. Their solution to issues recently seem to just be ignoring them.

Leaving a comment to hopefully keep this post on the front page
But yeah these changes are completely unacceptable, people already complained that the version seen in the last Rift was too grindy, BHVR should not have responded to that by making it even worse6 -
It's like they forgot that the Rift is supposed to be completed by their players.
6 -
More like they forgot it was supposed to be completed by their average player. Milestones probably got more grindy because their hardcore fambase with no jobs and no other games, complained that they finished all milestones in a couple of weeks.
7 -
Dailies were buffed from 45 rift fragments to 100 if you do all of them, since they added another daily, but as you say, the rift fragments you get from milestones were nerfed, going from about 38 levels to about 19 levels if you do them all. And I just don't get why. And this is after they made them take longer to finish. Like I can understand increasing the amounts needed to finish the milestones. A lot of dedicated players probably got those milestones in the first 2 weeks of the rift. But why nerf the rift fragments you get after making the challenges take longer?
I'm sure they got stats that loads of players reached past level 100, well past it in fact. But that doesn't justify nerfing the rift gains from the milestones, that just feels like they're trying to force players to rely on dailies instead of playing when they feel like it. Just leaves a bad impression.
4 -
I just want the milestone quest doable, these numbers they have now are outrageous. Hopefully the patch notes with this weeks bug fix will include something about this issue. 🤞
3 -
I'm not saying milestones are ok but rift progression is tied to weeklies and dailies instead of milestones, I'm page 5 and rift ending is page 9, with 2 months left and 9 batch of weeklies

Milestone numbers being so overwhelmingly high, stopped the desire for me to play the game.
I like completing every quest killer and survivor like I did with the tomes and the previous quests. Now I haven't touched the game for 5 days because I know with the time I spent on this game, I can't hit the milestones and I only play when the new rift quests are out. I hope the devs lower the numbers at some point.
6 -
you and I have the same attitude! I agree 100000%
3 -
I also didn't buy this rift because rift days is too short and the milestone challenges are obnoxious, and to be honest the new rift skins suck
2 -
I truly cannot wait to see what the step 10s look like.
4 -
A part of me is wondering if Step 10s will even be possible without 24/7 play.
6 -
Part 5 is 750?!?
5 -
That is a valid point, indeed.
And event quests, like next week's 2v8, will provide a nice boost as well.
Milestones could be considered more of a bonus, but why not make that bonus more rewarding the further you go? Either they should bring back the 10-100 increment, or lock them at 50 per tier instead of 25.3 -
nope, I don’t think they are at all….they need to be doable for all players. Doesn’t mean easy but realistic numbers.

I stopped playing at tier 4 hooks. Bad reward, absurd grinding which is designed for streamers or teens that play the game 24/7.

Hey folks! I apologize for not replying on this thread sooner, but I wanted to step in here to let you know that your feedback in this thread isn't going un-seen. It's being shared with the team and, of course, I'll keep an eye out for any more feedback that crops up in this thread so I can make sure it's brought to them as well.

Part 10 is when you find out the Entity is real, the game is a trap, and you get permanently sucked into the Fog.
7 -
thank you Ryan! This is very hopeful news! I really hope to see an adjustment to the numbers of the steps that doesn’t make me feel like I am facing an impossible task.
4 -
To be fair milestones aren't some grand objective you HAVE to finish. I barely pay attention to them and are already over level 40 in the rift (Detective "We have Valentine at home" Unknown is in my sights.). Buuut I play a lot so my experience may not be the same as everyone.
I lowkey wish the game told you what rift level you actually were in the system past level 100 because I think I got to like... 200 in the previous riftpass. Those useless 5k rewards got boring after a while.
-4 -
That's really all it is: you don't have to think about it but you do have to play a lot. Even the Rift progress I usually barely notice, but I'm gunning for those black and gold colorways right now. I think I'm at level 60ish with no specific effort put forth.

what…
2 -
I understand I don’t HAVE to complete them, but I would like to complete them. Isn’t that the point of them being in the game? To be completed? I like many other people here in this trend agree that the numbers are too high. I’ve said it a bunch of times here, I understand why they increased them. I do! But they went a little too high. That’s my issue, I don’t care for a little challenge but let’s make it at least an achievable one. ✌️

step 4 is 500 haha

gimme a day and a monster with any killer/killer build and ill get it done with plenty of frustration from my garbage controller and terrible audio
2 -
They practically doubled the amounts from the first iteration to this one.
I especially remember the challenges for survivor being 55 escapes at level 10 (now it is 110), and healing a total of 275 health states at level 10 (now it is 550)4 -
the hooking one went from 275 to 2750 🤣
4 -
Last iteration you got 10 shards per step level, and if you fully completed a milestone quest, it gave you a total of 550 rift shards. The rewards at least kept increasing to somewhat match the growing requirements. Now each step in the milestone quests gives only a flat 25 shards, which means even if you can slog through all 10 steps, you only get 250 shards for each one.
Now to top it off, the new requirements are so much more absurd:
- 1375 gen kicks now, 275 then.
- 550 trials now, 100 then.
- 110 escapes now, 55 then.
- 550 heals now, 110 then.
- 2750 hooks now, 275 then.
- 550 kills now, 165 then.
- 550 kills now, 165 then.
We are required to put in anywhere from like 3~10x more effort into getting these all done, and only getting half as much in compensation. And just think… 550 trial completions alone would probably average to around 110 solid hours of gameplay, not counting time in queues, the store, spending bp or menus.
Oh but it's so much worse. The hooks one is REALLY bad. 2750 hooks equates to at an absolutely impossible bare minimum 230 games. And that's assuming you can manage 12 hooks in EVERY game. A lot of times it can feel hard enough getting 4 kills, or at least to end game with 3 secured. Now imagine if you win "too easily" people die early at only one or two hooks. Or you even lose and get many escapes. By far seems like the hooks one is taking the longest and I will never finish it.
Then again, I understand maybe the idea is everyone isn't necessarily expected to complete every one of these. And I'm sure other events and daily quests will make up for rift progress. All the numbers still feel very poorly thought out, regardless.

bro it'd be like that old ahh movie The Last Starfighter when he gets the high score
1 -
That's the issue. They're marketing the game to adults primarily, not teens or kids, which means that naturally we have less free time. The tomes should be easily completed without having to grind too hard. But at the same time I'm sure the mindset is that if you don't have the time and you're working you can just buy it out (as if that's reasonable).
On the flip side, the tome does drive engagement but that goes back to the age old problem with DBD—that the grind is considered the main point of the game.
6 -
It's funny because I've never heard of the prevention affecting who it's supposed to affect. First go was affecting players learning the game or playing stealth, while this wave only affects players that are getting killed by hackers.
3 -
I think they should be high honestly, since they are milestones after all. You should feel like you did something (and that something is wasting your life). There should just be either more Dailys and Rift Quests so Milestones are secondary and slower to build up, or there should be a fourth option of more mild and achievable tasks.
And I guess that was the tomes lol
-5 -
Yo is that what happens in that movie?? Spoiler alert 😭
1 -
yeah I agree they should be high but I think they are too high. I think they can find a nice middle ground that pleases everyone. Hopefully lol
1 -
Great, then I "only" need 90 escapes still. Not gonna happen in solo queue, lmao.
And 2750 hooks ? ######### ? Poor killers, no wonder some of them sweating like crazy.
I'm usually always annoyed when the killer sweats too hard from the start, but now that I see these numbers, I can even feel a little sympathy. What a pressure.
BHVR, at the very least, doesn't encourage a healthy playstyle with these challenges.
7 -
I've stopped doing the Finisher Mori because you need every single hook you can get.
This is not healthy nor enjoyable game design.
5 -
Very true! But I'll still do the mori if they think they will get a wiggle off with boil over shenanigans. :)
0 -
NGL it's kind of amusing that the only reasonable change was escapes lol that only doubled compared to everything else that tripled or more
2 -
Surprisingly I capped the escape milestone last Rift and my trials are just as crappy as the next player's. The challenge system relies heavily on events and modifiers, which they are pushing out more of. It'd be nice if it were less grindy, but it is what it is. I've been logging in once a week for the new challenges, clearing them, and then logging out and I'm sure I'll complete everything again.
