Yes. These are just fillers for hardcore players to have to do something.
Most normal players will not finish these.
They changed the dailies to give you 1 tier so you have to play more often.
With the rift challenges and the event tome which probably comes you are fine. But you have to play pretty often which is bad for casuals.
… if it is too much you can of course buy the missing tiers.

Eh, to be fair, you really only have to play the game to get those Milestone Challenges. Not really a big deal when they require a high amount of Trials.

Yeah, but the Rift progression seems so much slower this time round. It's kind of annoying.

I like completing every quest like I did all these years, but this one...I can't even bother, the Milestone numbers are overwhelmingly high for the time I spent on this game.

I don't even pay attention to these and they just get done. My current "complete trials" one is for 280 trials and that's almost done. I'm at tier 47 of the Rift so I guess I'll be done with all the colorways in a couple weeks maybe?
I've already seen people in that new Sable outfit, but I guess they might have paid for that boosted version.
