Chandler riggs livestream was a complete disaster
They were unable to play a single match due to the lobby getting DDOS'd
But even then, chandler's audio kept cutting out and there was no game audio either.
Otzdarva knew what was going on and he tried to help by filling up the spectator slots with his mods but bhvr was not listening to him and kicked his mods when they joined the lobby
I also just felt like chandler was pressured to say a lot of things, as he said on stream he mainly played during 2016-2017 so a lot of the questions that were being asked seemed difficult for him to answer.
They also felt the need to promote It Has My Face for the 3rd/4th time in a row. It's really annoying, this is a dead by daylight stream, not a bhvr stream and not an indie showcase stream, not a it has my face stream. The first time was enough, if people were interested they would be following the game already.
Really disappointed and felt like a waste of my time
edit : added newfound context of otz's perspective

I really felt so sorry for Chandler.

Bhvr this should be a wake up call.
52 -
It was… quite something to behold, that is for sure. Good grief
40 -
this has been a problem since the dawn of dbd
this is just embarassing and depressing…
36 -
Pretty much sums up the state of the game.
Wild how they were told how to fix the problem and then ignored that lol
49 -
right absolutely shameful display.
19 -
Oh dear that doesn’t sound good at all. I only caught the first couple of minutes of it, but sounds like I didn’t really miss anything.
23 -
Well, Cote getting cooked with flashlights whilst an audience watched, was enough to get flashlights addressed immediately. So maybe this one will do the same.
37 -
Hopefully yes, them fixing the ddos'ing issue would be a silver lining to all this. But the ignorance of the issue up until this point, and their direct ignorance of Otzdarva telling them how to workaround the issue to save the event has been very painful to watch
28 -
I remember that day like yesterday 😭
8 -
I watched a little bit and then turned it off. It sounds like things got even worse after. Glad I jumped ship when I did 🤣
9 -
Oof… That was rough to watch. Even without the DDOS attacks, you couldn't hear what the special guest was saying half the time.
If they try something like this again, they might need to do it pre-recorded instead of a livestream because that kinda went as badly as it could have.

I really wanted this crossover to be a defining moment… not just for Dead by Daylight fans, but for the franchise itself. Getting Chandler Riggs (Carl from The Walking Dead) into a SwF stream with Otzdarva was exactly the kind of event that could've drawn fresh eyes, new players, and some well-deserved respect.
Instead, the lobby got DDoS’d, matchmaking imploded, and the so-called “security” blind spot was exposed for all to see. No firewall, no validation, no plan: clients, not servers, hold the keys to destruction. That’s less “puzzle game horror” and more “amateur hour network terror.”
Look, this is a game that’s thrived since 2017… with ranked matchmaking, a growing meta, but still zero reliable cheat protection. That’s not shocking. It’s tragic. It’s as if the developers need to be dragged out of denial by sheer embarrassment before lifting a finger to protect the game.
I want DBD to become a masterpiece, to grow into something players are proud of and excited to recommend. But right now, shoddy security tarnishes every content drop and ruins every big event. If even a celebrity livestream can be tanked by a handful of spectators, what chance does a normal lobby have?
Please, Behaviour: treat your players like the MMR-based system you claim to have.. punish toxicity, yes… but also protect the integrity of your game. Because right now, DBD looks more like a sitting duck than a horror icon.

Yeah, I tried watching a little bit of the stream, but I just couldn't, it was really bad.
In recent discussions I have been saying that this is the worst chapter release since A Binding Of Kin, but honestly this is going beyond the actual chapter. The state of the game, and the things around it, are worse now than they have been in years.
16 -
I don't even believe it's worse.
It's just that this chapter has been a perfect storm of all the things BHVR has been ignoring.
The level of polish I saw when I was in the earliest BF Labs playtests was somehow higher than 9 YEARS of BHVR.
15 -
That was truly embarrassing. Felt sorry for Chandler.
BHVR needs to get their stuff together asap.
13 -
They didn't even manage to play 1 match on stream.
13 -
Well, my friend, I wouldn't say the chapter release is worse than A Binding Of Kin, because that one really did break the entire game.
But overall I think this chapter is the closest we've had to that state of the game, and things… well, things have been handled poorly, at least in my opinion.
6 -
Do you anticipate a statement from BHVR for the livestream fumble or will it be swept under the rug
6 -
Pretty sure Otz was talking about getting his mods to fills the spectator slots on stream, weird that it never happened. Very avoidable issue.
7 -
Wasn't me, but this comment in the yt livechat during their stream actually made me giggle as it was unfortunately so fitting to this whole mess:
All jokes aside:
It was a pity. A plain pity. This is not how a company wants their advertisement to be going.
14 -
I mean, the game is so bad that they couldn't even play a single game.
14 -
Worst of all is that it could have been avoided.
14 -
I feel sad, but I hope this moment was embarrassing enough for devs to reconsidering their safety.
Like, without joke. People can DDoS servers that easily. What’s next? Massive fraud of accounts for further reselling for more cheaters?
12 -
This was genuinely so embarrassing how could you possibly do anything but cry laugh at the situation. You couldn't plan a skit this on the nose.
11 -
Bro i mean, just listen to Otz, man’s out there trying to save the devs from clowning themselves and the stream, and they’re like: ‘Nah, we’re good.’
20 -
This can be easily solved by giving away the game on Epic Store again.
1 -
live footage of bhvr rejecting otz's solution to their problem 😭
18 -
As I've said many times before, you're not allowed to criticize on the DBD subreddit..
21 -
This was incredibly sad BHVR didn't act upon what Otz suggested, as it may well have given them a solution there and then. A way to deal with DDOS.
However, this is a good thing insofar as this public embarassment forces them to face the issues put before then. They have to respond swiftly and address the problem. Otherwise, it gives a bad impression. It's damage control now.
15 -
Nothing will change. Behavior will just give out a million blood points or a free cosmetic and hope things quiet down.
10 -
Gotta wonder how disrespected Otz feels right now
20 -
Pretty funny how there was tech issues when they got the actor who plays Dustin from Stranger Things for a livestream and now this. You'd think they'd not take risks and just pre-record this stuff in advance so it goes as smoothly as possible and don't make an absolute mess of things.
There's no point in having a livestream if you can't even do the stuff you planned to do in the first place. I got second hand embarrassment from watching.
While it's not my intention to rub salt in the situation, I have to admit I find it somewhat ironic that this happened given the whole debacles recently with the extremely buggy state of affairs.
11 -
but don't worry guys, you can still spend your hard earned money on the new Walking Dead skins like Daryl, barely recoloured pants for Rick and an audio nightmare in Michonne!
13 -
I doubt there will be another TWD chapter, seeing how badly BHVR has fumbled both the release, and this stream.
It's also clear that, unless there's a community backlash, BHVR doesn't really do anything to fix issues that plague the game. These hacking attempts have been know for a long while now, and the devs are unable, or unwilling, to do anything about it.
'Pretty good job so far' moment.8 -
Devs actually listen to Otz the guy that's literally trying to make your jobs easier.
This just shows how broken and how vulnerable your game is.
3 -
The dbd situation reminds me of Warzone. They all making videos complaining about the state of the game, cheaters, "warzone all time low" etc, but at the same breath the same people still playing the game 24/7 buying their stuff etc.
1 -
That's a shame. At least bro got payed. Hopefully.
5 -
All DbD has to do is make a $5 charm/badge of that metal pole in the loading screen and act like "haha we're in on the joke too, we care about the community" and it'll all be forgiven as the money rolls in.
12 -
I believe they will. Also take 500k bps for your trouble.
Dbd community: I'll take that.
5 -
As much as bugs are terrible, they have been responsible for some of the greatest moments I've experienced in this game. That bug where survivors who stunned the killer, then got teleported to the hook, was amazing. I almost died laughing the first time I saw it.
If the choice to unionize is made, I won't cross the picket line. But I want that charm.
-1 -
This stream was such a massive PR disaster that I genuinely do not know how it progressively got worse over time, I genuinely have no idea why I should give feedback or any suggestions if they clearly just do not matter when a suggestion that Otz gave the devs that we know works was denied
8 -
BHVR should feel ashamed.
I get DDOS'in is not an easy thing to stop but they reason they could do it is because of the free spectator slots. Otz made this very clear early on and the solution was right there and BHVR out of pure arrogance decided to ignore Otz and ended up aiding the hackers.
You should be utterly EMBARESSED.13 -
9 years still the same old BHVR response and attitude towards this. Listen to Otz? Nah. Play a whole different game? Sure. They'd rather bomb a celebrity guest stream than listen to the community. I feel so bad for Otz and Chandler, they didn't deserve to have their time wasted like that.
Don't forget to claim your free Valentines 2024 heart charm! No bp this time tho.
15 -
Can you guys believe Behaviour had the guts to announce they're making auric cells 17% more expensive on my country on August 13rd?
9 -
What worst is that actors may not be interested in being on stream with BHVR if they find out this happened. Kind of disappointed that this happened though and I hope they learn their lesson about this.
10 -
Now, I don't like to doompost.
But man I can't help feel like I jumped a sinking ship.
14 -
Pretty baffling double-down to refuse the widely known fix for the issue. Who wants to bet that this vulnerability will be patched within a week now that it affected them on a live stream?
15 -
They won't fix anything because they can't. DDOS is very difficult and complex thing to "fix". The biggest gaming companies still have this issue.
0 -
I really don't know how people still play this game. It's just a complete dumpster fire right now. It can't be anything other than addiction and sunk cost fallacy at this point. The devs just refusing to listen to Otz was pretty wild to see.
