Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Please remove basement from the game too many campers like trapper bubba and hag

I don’t get why basement is even a thing tbh. It’s just so kills can camp basement without no real consequences and it’s not fair for survivors to get camped all game without doing anything by sitting on hook all game until death hook

If its one of those killers and you know they've set up basement, don't die near it. That said, the distance between traps for both set up killers should be increased by alot to stop basement lock downs from occurring. As well as the Anti-Camp system needs to be far stronger.

Fortunately, it's been a long time since I've seen a basement Bubba. Basement Trappers are much more common, at least in my matches. If I know I'm playing against such a killer, I consistently avoid the area around the basement.

Another problem are Killers who are able to block the stairs with their bodies. Extremely annoying.

The basement isn't really all that special anymore in my opinion. It's mainly there for Trapper and Hag and even then, they don't always make full use of it because there's no reason to most of the time. I love basement because I run Strength In Shadows, but that's the only reason I go down there at all.

Camping/tunneling/slugging does need to be addressed, but it can be done anywhere at any time. It doesn't need the basement.

As a survivor I love the basement as it can be used to waste so much time of a killer that is silly enough to check every locker

You have to know if the killer you go against is good at deffending basement and dont just rush shack if you are very close going down its just 50/50 if it will be there and kinda survivors fault if they end up there but not if killer has agi+iron grasp and basement build doesnt happen often but I have sometimes some basement bubba or trapper (yeah they are still here and didnt extinct).

Its boring if you are the one in the basement but look at it this way you have 140 seconds on both hook stages thats like 2 gens on avarage if your team doesnt suffer from brainrot.

Basement and shack are outdated things that should be removed from the game

Aside from just being a straight nerf to survivors by not spawning a shack. Your completely correct this clearly isn't a slow paced horror game anymore so basement is just abused. They of course doubled down on trying to make basement Relevant in the current age by creating invocation perks

I just had a basement Bubba, like the kind that spend the whole game down there, and I was so excited because they're so rare now. I tried to open the chest and my party wasn't interested and they just left me to die lol

I think it just needs 2 things

Reassurance to be buffed to 8 meters

Anti-face camp mechanic to be more forgiving in the basement

I played a couple of games last week as chest defender Bubba. Sadly nobody seemed to get it. Followed it up with two games of padded jaws Trapper. I love padded Jaws Trapper. Nobody ever expects it.

I don't really see a reason why tbh. "but basement trapper or bubba" yeah well how often do you see those. I havent seen one in months and even then its very easy to just not go down near basement.

Ah boo. My party just wanted the free win, which is so boring. If I match with you I will definitely come try to open it (and die)

They came down but didn't try for the chest. No attempted bribes or anything.

I think basement could do with a few minor tweaks, but it serves an important role as being, usually, located near a powerful loop thus creating a high risk, high reward scenario.

Camping Bubba is nowhere near as bad as he used to be.

The basement adds a cool gameplay dynamic to the game. It's usually located near main or killer shack, tiles which are extremely strong and safe for survivors. The risk of using those tiles is that if you get caught, you are likely going into the basement where it's hard to get you out.

If you hate being hooked in the basement, can I recommend the perk Wicked? It allows you to unhook yourself guaranteed if hooked in the basement. While that might seem niche, it also allows you to see he killer's aura for 20 seconds after being unhooked regardless of if it was in basement or not. This is quite useful information to know if it's safe to heal under hook or not and it can be useful if the killer tries to tunnel you.

Seriously, Wicked is probably one of the most underrated perks in the entire game.

Trapper - Man, let my boy Evan have one thing that Survivors have to fear him for... he already has to take enough crap just from stepping in his own traps 🥺🥺🥺

Hag - She can trap the hell out of any hook, whether its basement or not is kinda moot. So I'd opt for far more specific Hag changes in general. Sadly she's like Twins... largely forgotten and on no ones give a damn list, but suggestion has been made. Give it a vote and a comment to help get Hag more love!

Bubba - Yes, he is pretty nasty around basement, but as @GeneralV says, as a Survivor you should be being mindful of basement, and ensure you don't go down near it. Bubba isn't particularly fast, you've got time to get away from basement if you pay attention. It serves as a nice counter balance to Shack, which is a very strong standard tile for Survivors, bit is offset by 50% of teh time.spawnung basement there, making it something you don't want to play risky around. This element of game design is pretty good.

I personally love basement, it's a cool "oh crap" moment when you go down near it, realising you messed up. I also like Strength in Shadows. That's a nice perk.

I feel like people forgot the actual reason for basement, lol. Those are the only hooks in the game that can't be saboed.

You could legit get a job att BHVR. Nerfing Trapper, Hag, Bubba but not Nurse and Blight I think they would welcome you with open arms.
