for those unaware, 2v8 currently works if you have crossplay disabled in the settings.

Doesn't turning crossplay off also shut off match making incentives?

It's not that they get shut off, its that normally there aren't enough players to create a queue imbalance.

yeah you can play but you don't get the x5 bonus

Even if you do this, if a killer leaves a lobby, there's a good chance that no additional killers will ever join to replace them, so you've still got bugged lobbies in some cases.
