how is skull merchant in the current day?
i would rly like to try her out because i like her a lot, but i've heard things like that she's completely useless until she receives a rework. i'm a super casual player, i regularly play and have a lot of fun with killers like trapper or ghostface who most people consider bad, so i want to know if she is just considered bad in the competitive performance kind of things, or if she is actually just not functioning how she's supposed to. thank youu!

Decaying as a bottom F tier killer you rarely gets drone marks even less claw traps she basically doesn't have a power at this point.
Just wait for the rework coming next year to play her

The thing with her is the stealth you get when you drop drones. You can get surprisingly alot of sneak attacks with her still. Especially at gens. But yes claws traps and tags with drones are nerfed into the dirt.
If you play her, youdrop drones b4 searching an area you know survivors are at and sneak up on them. You'll get downs and hits this way. Pair it with aura reading and more stealth perks and you'll have a good time. She can be fun still doing it this way but dont expect 4ks with her.

thank you, i'll wait for when i hear about her being fixed, and then play her.

I didn't find her particularly difficult to get value from, she's not really fun but she isn't an instant loss if you pick her.

Seconding the person further up saying the stealth is the main part- the drones don't really do very much at this point, outside of the survivors who'll just sorta run blindly into them because people broadly don't know how to play against her. You'll get the occasional ranged injury that way, but they really don't do much else.
Her stealth, however, is actually pretty alright. If you build into that and make it the centre of your playstyle, maybe give her some M1 chase perks as well to complement it, you'll do okay.

Grab her man, if you can use M1 killers well enough, you'll do alright with her.
Skull Merchant is pretty cool. I always liked her rich psychopath persona. Her lore needs polishing up a little, and you probably wanna look at some cosmetics cause her base skin isn't great... but the character has some underrated elements in this regard.
Don't bother foxusing on using drones in chase though, you'll likely waste more time trying to get value from tag lines... throw them out in chase to hopefully make less experienced survivors make a mistake for you to land a hjt, but don't ever expect this to really shunt anything massively in your favour.
Just use her as a 4.6m/s Undetectable m1 killer and take some chase perks like Bam or Brutal to help if needed, and you can have fun.

She basically has no power but survivors still get super toxic, salty and say you are trash for playing her just because of something that happened 2 years and reworks ago.
If you enjoy m1 killers though she is still fun. She has some on demand undetectable which can be useful. Also her add-ons can give her essentially free lethal pursuer or free Brutal Strength, which is very nice to have.

Weak and hated

I still use her decently enough with a stealth build. Using the drones for on/off stealth and the occasional antiloop seems to get results. Still works really well on rpd as well.

Still possible to win and, in my opinion, the most fun killer in the game to play as, but also pretty weak.
As long as you keep in mind that you might be playing a pure M1 killer most of the time, I would recommend playing her. Waiting for a rework is not a good idea, imo, simply because it is possible you won't enjoy the rework.
