I'm still pissed off about the Castlevania chapter
Why oh why haven't they created Dracula's castle as a map from Castlevania? Instead we get a flying castle in the background on some maps. Pretty useless in in-door maps lmao.
Every chapter killer should have their own map. Period.

I imagine it has something to do with licensing. That's also why you don't see the castle on licensed maps, even the outdoor ones.

Sadako was supposed to have a map that went with her chapter, but it got scrapped. I still hope one day we will get to see it by some miracle.

Simple Behaviour refuse to create only full inside maps like RC PD.
I mean have you seen the new fnaf map it has an huge empty outside part for no reason.
And the building aka pizza restaurant itself is quite small.
I wished for Dracula’s castle as well.And I wanted to see his throne room where you have the final battle would have been epic in DBD.

Doubtful they got the full license for Silent Hill map and it’s from the same company.

I also got mad when we didn’t get Sadako’s well and woods/cabin for an map.
Very unfair when we have crap holes like Badham which are still one sided bore fests.

At least we know why the Cenobite map was scrapped
BHVR knew the license would be going back to Clive Barker at some point, and that they'd probably lose the deal they had. No point adding a map they know will have to be removed in the close future.

It's not easy making maps, and its extremely time consuming. Given the state of the game at the time and the multiple projects going on at once, there is simply not enough time whatsoever to make maps for every killer. I

You say this, Yet there are smaller dev teams than behaviour.
That release maps often for there MP games.
Behaviour has many studios and an huge workforce now.There not much excuse.

There is a BHVR studio expansion in UK & the Netherlands so this is a fact.

Yet again people choose to be closed minded,
If smaller dev teams can make regular mp maps.
Then why can’t Behaviour when there much bigger now.

Ive been mad about the castlevania chapter for more than just the map missing. It was the first time ever for a license that they just took every character they could add later as legendary skins, and tossed em in as cosplays. Attack on titan made sense at the time because we couldnt really picture anime characters in dbd until kaneki. So it was one of the most noticeable chapters that they quite obviously cut corners to save money.

I’m a firm believer that the she should’ve been given Shelter Woods as her map. That’s the one that they reworked to house the Skull Merchant’s camp, but it looks out of place.
The cabin and Sadako’s well would’ve fit so much better on that map.

I hope they haven't given up on indoor maps. I know theyre not the most popular maps but they're a good change of scenery and offer variety. We also had an opportunity for a castle map with Knight but instead got Shattered Square 🤮

Just to clarify something - none of those studios work on DbD, they have their own projects. And whilst the offices here maybe large, not everyone is working on DbD there's a lot of other sectors and projects that people are working on.
We'd love maps for every chapter, unfortunately it's not always possible - dbd900bach is absolutely correct when they say that it's how much time it takes to develop a map, it's really involved, much more than I ever knew or realised until the last few years.

If you want to work in the industry and have an opportunity at an internship at one of our studios then it would definitely be worth it.8 -
might look into it (the office is on the other side of the country tho… hopefully working from home is an option at BHVR)

normally it's hybrid, so 2 days in office the rest can be at home if you desire.

I'm still hoping they will one day include the castle on Midwich. You should easily be able to see it when standing in the courtyard.
There would be no licensing issue here since both Silent Hill and Castlevania are owned by Konami. Surely they could make something work there.2 -
I get that with the licensed chapters, sometimes full maps are not possible. Also due to the limitations of the game itself.
But I was thinking, what if original killers could at least come with their own map at some point. Like the community made map set in a cityscape, which would have been a perfect map for Trickster.4 -
I feel like even if we did get Dracula’s castle as a map it would probably be an RPD situation where the map could be too faithful and just end up being a nightmare to play on for both sides.

Draculas Castle is perfect for BHVR because canonically, the layout of the Castle is ephemeral and transient so Bhvr could do anything they felt like and it could be canon, they have free creative control.

I wouldn't guess it is always a licensing issue because many original Chapters lack a map or realm! Why didn't we get new realms or maps for The Twins, The Trickster, and The Blight? The dev started skipping new realms for Chapters, then they started doing variants of existing maps instead, and now we're down to a single tile lol

there are still certain priorities they have so instead of being able to focus on one thing they have to focus on a few to meet a deadline because bigger companies have those while smaller ones are much more lenient

I'm still sad that they placed the pizzeria in the middle of the woods, not even a parking lot in front of the building. It's so dumb, they even have the assets because it's the exact same realm as the Theater map, and that one has a parking lot.
All they needed was to add a parking lot in front and the map would look so much better.
