Gen rushing vs. Tunneling
It's a silly argument.
Killer's mains continue this silly dialogue; I'm doing my objective, it's my job.
Completing gens is literally the objective of the survivor.
It's a strawman argument.
The difference is, survivors can't abuse the system to change gens to 4v1. It's always 5 gens; regardless.

That's not a good rebuttal. Gens tick down, remaining survivors tick down, these are pretty much identical factors.

Except gen speeds are actually a problem
3 -
Gen speeds are always a problem, because any match a killer loses, 'the gens went too fast'.
No matter if it's 80 second gens, or 90 or 100 or 200.
If survivors ever win, 'gens too fast'.
4 -
There literally the same format.
Tunneling is Killers doing there Objective fast
Gen Rushing is Survivors doing there Objective fast
The problem with Gen Rushing is that depending on the map, Killer and player Skill in a match determines the match results.
With tunneling no longer being able to be done (depends on the patch notes Numbers) will make matches much more difficult. Gen Rushing should be next on the anti list QOL because now there will barely be any way to counter play it sense killers can't rush there Objective anymore.
It amazes me how both sides argue over the same topic of Rushing Objective when Tunneling and Gen Rushing can basically counter both playstyles.
It only depends on how the match plays out.
I do think this Patch is BS because some Killers can't use there power the way it was intended to be used because of the 6 hook requirement. Like there are Killers who have abilities that kill survivors instantly regardless being hooked or not. Meaning them Killers will never be able to be played properly unless these changes are Ajusted for them killers.

I never complain when I play killer. If I get rolled; I accept it. I need to get better.
The killer role is so much more complex than survivor IMO.
And by complex I don't just mean understanding the killer power; but using to force pressure without perk influence.
My mains' Nurse and Executioner I use 1 slow down perk. I'm not god tier killer. And I don't care to be. Other than 1 slowdown perk the rest are for fun.
I main Deathslinger in 2v8 when I play that role cuz, it's fun.
It's not the meta; sometimes I lose, it's still fun.
In fact Deathslinger IMO is more fun in 2v8 cuz there are more targets.
It should be about fun. for both sides. I don't need a 4k to have fun.
And teabagging morons don't bother me.
The better I get, the less teabagging I see… cuz they are dead.-2 -
So you want me to wait to work on a gen? For your benefit?
When does this not make sense?-5 -
Gens take 90 seconds to complete
It takes 10-30 seconds to find those Gens
Chases take anywhere from 10-60 seconds to complete
Hooks take 5-10 seconds to complete
It takes 3 hooks to kill
Gens have 8 kicks (damaging instances)
Where are the arguments for everything… and I mean everything
-5 -
That is certainly true, but not what I got out of the OP.
1 -
Well survivors expect killers not to hook them for their benefit no matter how badly they play…
-1 -
That is not what im saying.
Im saying that it isn't fair how Survivors are allowed to do there Objective fast but the Killer isn't. How is that even fair. Even after the Anti Tunneling and Slugging stuff comes out you will still complain and demained more hand holding mechanics.
This Anti Tunnel Crap is basically giving the killer a rule book and if they break them it will Say there a terrible person by punishing them for doing there job.
So if you truly think out it. If this was the other way around that Gen Rushing was getting the exact same treatment that if you get 3 Gens done before 6 Hook states the Killer will get mega Buffed. AKA punishing you for doing ur job as survivor.
This Anti crap shouldn't punish players for just playing the game. Yeah it maybe a skill issue but its still ridiculous because its punishing and misleading new players.

SO history lesson
Survivors use to have these things called "different strategies." These were different ways to play the game that was objectively less effective then just going the gens. These included but not limited to
Stealth
Sabo
Flashlights.
All 3 of these ways to play was slower then just doing generators and was less effective then just doing gens. So when survivors only did gens this was called "gen rushing." However as the years went on killer's complained that every different strategy was unfair. So they were all nerfed hard. Now are only weaker but borderline pointless. The only strategy left is doing generators.
you cannot genrush when you can only use one strategy. And I promise you any time survivors try something new it's complained about and nerfed. Look at fog viles.

Anyone that does not agree that both
Confirmed kills = gens completed
&
Gens comp = confirmed kills
Is just trying to generally troll and keep sabotage the game to be balanced around that.
As much as gens are main objective for survivors so are confirmed kills for the killer
2 -
4 =/= 5
A completed gen shrinks the playing field and makes things harder for survivors.
A killed survivor makes thing WAY easier for the killer.
They are only comparable in function, not effect.
3 -
no just say tunneling and gen rushing are the same thing
with the 6 hook thing this update going to suck
0 -
now this is true.
1 -
Yeah as mentioned before tunneling does not equal Gen rushing. Each gen completed makes the playing area smaller allowing the killers to find and hook easier. Even down to the final hidden gen the gates as it goes from 3 potential places for the objective to 2. The area is always shrinking to.make the killers job easier and easier.
Now take tunnel the killer killed survivor 1 at 5 gens. The survivors now have 25% slower progress to their goal it didn't get harder for the killer it got easier down to 2 survivors the team is basically crippled approaching unwinnable depending on gen count left. As you can see the objectives are comparable but the outcomes of completing them are completely inverse harder as one side progresses their object and easier for the other.

There's differences between survivors and gens you're ignoring. Just a few off the top of my head:
- There are 4 survivors and 5 generators.
- A generator is an inanimate game construct that can't have a frustrating gameplay experience. A generator didn't load into a match hoping to accomplish something other than being tunneled out within the first few minutes.
- Killers argue that they should be entitled to skip hooking survivors if they have a base-kit mori mechanic. Survivors aren't arguing they should be able to skip generators and just go straight to having the exit gates powered.
- Killers can win the game without tunneling. Survivors can't win the game without completing generators.
Killers can still rush through the survivors as a group. What this patch does is make it less desirable to rush through a single survivor.

Also, if we are going with 'doing the objective as fast as possible', genrushing is also terribly ineffective because it's extremely likely to cause 3-genning.
After all, choosing a more distant gen is not 'as fast as possible'.

Exactly thats why we got these new systems in place.
Before them it was not such similarity but now with so much at stake
