What We Need Instead Of Play While You Wait
Instead of trying to implement a function that:
1; may get less use because if people are queueing for a role, they want to be that role.
2; may clutter queue times for others (make others wait a long time if you really do keep your spot in line, I don't want to wait 10+ minutes additionally to my queue time as killer because the guy ahead of me just started a match while HE was waiting)
Why don't we implement a dedicated solo queue, so the players who play alone don't have to be muddled in with people queueing with 2 to 3 people?

how would splitting the survivor queues up even more fix the issue of killers not having enough survivors to populate their lobbies?

I thought play while you wait was really wet received? I don't understand complaining about it

What do you mean? That isn't a more optimal solution at all.
- Players get to queue for what they want to play, rather than thinking the queue is too long and not bothering.
- Players can play while waiting, which can be even better than queueing for normal queue. Also massively helps streaming.
- Killer players naturally help populate the Survivor queue at teh same time they are queuing, improving queue times for everyone... including you.
The feature is probably the most optimal solution that could be done for this problem... and realistically if you aren't in a game when other players ahead of you are, it would be self defeating to hold up the queue to wait for people to finish their games. All it will do it keep taking from the pool of players at the end of the queue.
End of the day, you don't have to queue Survivor if you don't want to, but if everyone does queue for it, it helps advance the queue for all... so you're not really helping yourself by refusing to play... and your penalty for doing so is staring at the lobby screen. So all is fair.

Try to out. I think this will be super healthy for the game long term, if BHVR actually implements it in the normal game too

This is exactly what I think of waiting in normal queue. "Play While You Wait" is a privilege that never should've been enabled. The point of being in queue is to be in queue. How does it work when every Killer is playing while they wait? Do I skip the line if they are still playing? Are they ripped out of the game and replaced with a bot? This is nonsense as an option.
