Will Twins get a compensation buff?
So with the new anti slug changes announced for the 9.2.0 PTB, I find it odd that while Oni got compensated for it with more blood orbs spawning after hooking a survivor, feels odd that Twins hasnt gotten a compensation. Is there plans to give compensation for them even if not in this chapter?

There's no plans made at present for them, Twins will very likely be on our radar though for the future.

Okay but like this is slightly worrying because, Oni received compensation since he would be negatively affected by the anti slug changes due to how his power works, And this also negatively affects them but worse than Oni since Twins's problem is that they cant pick up survivors normally like any other killer because of how victor functions due to separting from charlotte and Charlotte cant pick quick enough.

I'm guessing because it's a simple number change on Oni, I think pretty much everyone would agree, that a simple number change on Twins won't really do anything.

Could try giving Knockout's old effect to Victor.
OP is right, if you are using Twins correctly and get a down with Victor, Charlotte is so far away that the new changes make it impossible for her to play against certain perks and/or combos.
Slowing down slug speed, slowing recovery and/or hiding their auras would help as a bandaid until Twins get a more detailed look.

I assume this means the idea of what a fix would be would require heavier work, and therefore, if this is already on the devs' radar, also explains why the Twins are still kinda… in the state they're in?

I am slightly concerned specially because next year we already have 3 reworks coming up being Trickster (Early 2026), Skull Merchant (Early 2026 as well assuming it doesnt get delayed again due to the recent delays) and Trapper (ETA unknown). So its concerning because there would be no ETA for Twins just like Trapper. And then there is the situation with the attempted Twins rework that mostly got reverted. So there is also the concern of gameplay identity preservation which is what reworks should thrive to do.

I find it incredible that after all these years of the same discussion, they haven't done something as basic as giving the twins the ability to switch positions, so that Charlotte can hook whoever Victor takes down without having to cross the entire map. The solutions to all of this killer's problems have always been that simple, but here we are they telling us: “Just add it to the list of unplayable killers and wait.” It's no surprise that there are practically no mains for this killer; they're basically telling you to stop playing.

I think the way you said it is harsh but I agree. Because aside from the QOL changes that Twins got (Which was good) and a small nerf recently. BHVR hasnt really done anything to try and make the current version. Twins werent as buggy as right now. Like even years ago, they were still playable but now they work less consistently now than they used to. At this point a recode akin to what Nurse got would be ideal.

I disagree. Beef up the Haste when switching back to Charlotte and the free Unbreakable becomes far more manageable. Twins are possibly the only Killer in DBD who would naturally cause Survivors to be on the ground for 90s in the course of regular gameplay because it takes so long to pick up your downs. Minimising their downtime between downing and hooking by buffing the Haste would go a LONG way to help this.
Failing that, make the 90s timer pause/go slower while Victor is attached to someone else. This encourages Twins to latch onto someone healthy and split pressure instead of leaving Victor to camp the slug and punish Survs for not kicking Victor and allowing Twins to snowball.

Yeah this would be a good change, that would help Twins a lot and doesn't make them suffer because of the anti slug and hell… it works as a bandaid fix until you guys want to rework Twins again. Whenever that happens of course.

Okay… So after finding out that the anti slug change is basically infinite unbreakable… Why isnt there any compensation for Twins? Like… There is no reason to NOT compensate them if one of their strongest perk counters is being made basekit and is infinite use.

I would advocate for temp Haste for Charlotte following a Victor down + brief Killer Instinct on the down when swapping back

I would subject that killers who will be effect by these changes should not happen until we know for sure like only apply it to morely stronger killers like Ghoul, Nurse and Blight. Like Phymid head and Onryo will be unplayable because of the 6 hook requirement because they use there power to kill the survivors slowly. This will force alot of killers to not play killers they love to play because the game says so.
I really think the 6 hook requirements should be removed and only reward Killers for not Tunneling. Like more bloodpoints if they hook the same survivor twice it only gives have the points of when you hook them normally. So when a new killer sees this they go oh I should be doing this to get more points

Twins needs to be reworked anyways these changes make it more so needed

Maybe Victor should be able to attach to a down to prevent them from moving or recovering?

The last rework they got was a dumpster fire though. They were made so brainlessly op that almost every aspect of the rework had to be reverted.

I'm talking about a different rework

I know. But they spent two years on that rework and it all came to nothing. Colossal waste of time. So I don't see them dedicating themselves to another one in the foreseeable future.

Twins who?

Then I guess she can rot with Skullmerchant till then

Yeah. But honestly Twins has been largely ignored since they came into the game. I think they get put on the back burner because they're one of the least popular played killers.

this isn't even a twins specific problem… trapper has the addon that makes it so a survivor goes into the dieing state if they free themselves of a trap. A really good addon.
what is the use case for it now? If you are busy they just crawl away and wait to recover anyway.
if you can go to the survivor, the addon didn't really do anything.
do I just gotta hope they don't realize this is the play?

Thats their whole problem charlotte cant get across the map for the slug in time or it cost her too much time so its better to slug all she needs is simple fix for this like to switch places with victor or despawn victor and teleport to his location or houndmasters speedboost bonus.

Honestly they're mostly being lazy. There's at least 2 simple fixes that are already coded into the game that can resolve the design flaws for Twins so it reduces their issues. Also a 3rd change that would make sense, but would have to be decided on.
- When Victor downs a survivor by any means he'll latch onto them in the dying state like in the Twins rework PTB and teleports the survivor back to Charlotte and forces her to pick them up with a base-kit Lightborn(just so a survivor who finds the dormant Charlotte can't just sit in front of her and get an instant save). This alone would be possible to achieve already due to both the cage mechanics in DBD and the fact that Victor can already TP back to Charlotte wouldn't make it random for him to bring a downed survivor with him. On top of that it would solve the core issue of Twins where survivors are downed so far away from Charlotte forcing her to slug.
- Whenever Victor is latched onto a survivor they have a timer that Victor drains whenever the survivor isn't struggling with him to where when the timer reaches zero Victor downs the survivor bringing them back to Charlotte and whenever the survivor stops struggling with trying to remove him Victor will automatically drain 20-25% of the timer so that a survivor can only cancel their struggle attempts 4-5 times at maximum before Victor just outright downs them anyways. This is possible because of pre-existing mechanics such as the mending mechanic. The purpose of this would be to resolve the "survivors taking Victor hostage" situation completely without just giving Charlotte the ability to recall him whenever she wants which is what BHVR tried doing in their rework.
- Whenever Victor finds a survivor in a locker and traps them Charlotte will then gain Haste until Victor is removed from the locker by either Charlotte opening it or the survivor escaping. This is actually a similar mechanic from the Twins PTB that would allow her to have a fair chance at reaching a survivor who is in a locker without just giving her an abusable Haste buff to use in chases since like it was on the PTB since Victor can only hold a survivor in a locker for 10 seconds meaning that this Haste effect would only be 10 seconds long at max.
These changes would resolve issues with them without making them overly oppressive(unlike in their rework PTB) and without changing too much of their main playstyle/gameplay design while also fixing most of their core flaws. You don't need an entire power rework to fix a killer when there's solutions like this.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that BHVR wouldn't have something in place before releasing a system that screws over certain killers.
Well, not that shocked.

Why wasn't something put into motion months ago when they started development of this patch? Surely, the devs must have known that certain killers rely on slugging, so I'm scratching my head as to why updating or compensating those killers wasn't something that was done as part of the development process.

The thing is they did compensate Oni who would be affected by it. Which it sounds good on paper though we will see how much orbs it spawns. But the fact they compensated Oni but not Twins is wild

Twins have always been in need of nerfs, if anything. Anti-slug features don't significantly impact the killer. Never did.
