We need dev's to trust themselves with update, not the community.
I know, title isn't what most people want.
I love newest developer update.
It's definitely about time - we need to adress those survivior's pain points (slugging and tunneling).
It will finally be the time, that we won't need to be using meta perks like unbreakable, decisive strike etc.
We will finally be able to use worse perks, be more creative with our builds.
Cheap tactics were overused because they created scenario which was impossible for surviviors to win a game, kept us unmotivated, hopeless.
I haven't been tunneling or slugging as a killer so I am only getting buffs - BBQ and better kicks. I am happy about those.
This isn't competitive game and killers really treat it this way.
They don't really understand that most people just come into a game with a wish of having fun, chill a little bit after day full of work, school.
Community should trust developers more. Give them time!
"Worse" killers definitely will have worse kill rates - but this is a good thing!
We need to give dev team time to adjust those weaker killers. Only good things will come out of it.
Let them collect data after implementing those "anti" systems.
BHVR, please do not listen to negative killer's feedback.
Those people don't seem to care about opposite side experience.
They just wanna keep winning games for free.
We need those system's and your ideas are good.

BHVR have made concerted efforts to listen to it's community, after years of not doing so... why on earth would you want to encourage that, just because you happen to agree with this one?
Some examples of issues born of not listening to the community: -
- Hillbilly being completely reworked to have the universally hated overheat mechanic, and falling from one of the most popular killers for both sides instead of just fixing his instasaw add-ons.
- Spirit with no skill based counter play for years due to her non directional phasing audio, leaving survivors to only guess.
- Pig being infamously nerfed on repeat despite being an already weaker killer.
- Instablinds running rampant for ages.
- Nurse and Blight being lightyears stronger than the rest of the roster and taking literally years to get meaningful nerfs.
- Dead Hard and Decisive Strike running rampant for years.
- The infamous kills = skill drama.
Some issues that have been prevented/resolved by listening to community feedback: -
- Twins rework that would have made them utterly broken to play against.
- The Thrill of the Hunt update that made Hexes incredibly oppressive.
- The Mettle of Man meta that fundamentally broke the game.
- The dismantling of the 6.1.0 gen kick meta.
- Numerous perks changes since 7.0.0 that made overpowered perks more reasonable and rather useless perks being made far more viable, with more build options/paths available than ever before.
Now not every instance of listening to the community is good, such as the Freddy and Skull Merchant debacles. That's why it's incumbent on us, the fans of the game to argue and debate with good reasoning to the best of our ability....
Not every change in this update is bad, but not every change in this update is good either. Some changes have the potentialbto be great changes, and some have potential to be bloody awful... one should definitely not encourage the idea that players shouldn't voice their concerns and have BHVR just shunt everything through without scrutiny.

What about fog vials? Was the community right?
Now we just have an useless item that clutter the bloodweb.I just believe that changes that they offered are good.
What they are doing is something bold, but definitely needed.
-5 -
Problem is that the forums are currently inundated with folks that were never going to give this update a fair shake. If they end up listening to them, this update will be a complete disaster.
At least don't gather feedback until the PTB hits, because a lot of this update hinges on the numbers.
2 -
How did Walking Dead PTB go through? Surely, many of the issues detected there were instantly fixed and totally didn't show that BHVR were a complete embarassment at their work.

If you're too scared to even think about this update, let others do the talking.
If you can't answer the question, at least have the decency to admit you have no idea what this patch will be like.
-1 -
Answer the question.
How did the Walking Dead PTB go through?
-2 -
Went like a lead balloon.
Answer the question.
0 -
So, you expect to trust BHVR with applying changes to PTB after the disastrous Walking Dead PTB?
6 -
Answer the question.
-1 -
What kind of question did you ask me in this thread?
0 -
Got the threads mixed up.
What repair speed bonus would offset a dead survivor?
-4 -
I answered your question twice in that thread.
0 -
No, you keep dodging it. A question of whether something is worthwhile to do can't be answered with 'it just is'.
0 -
I even expanded my last reply to make it as clear as possible to you. Just because you don't like what I have to say doesn't mean I'm dodging.
0 -
No, because you just throw a truism at it.
'If it's worth doing, it's worth doing'
Which firstly is a nonsense answer and secondly is very clearly NOT an answer to the question posed, but rather an attempt to pre-empt what follows.
The truth is that you're exactly what OP is talking about. You don't WANT this update to succeed and you're willing to avoid all thought and consideration of it in order to stop it happening.
Your feedback is based specifically off of not thinking about it.
-2 -
I know this update won't succeed, just like I knew that BHVR parasitizes on licenses and nerfs them into ground as soon as they no longer bring money (while original chapters get massively neglected and are released in a half-baked state); just like I knew that BHVR cares about milking players for cash more than it cares about giving positive experience; just like I knew that BHVR needs to be slapped with its own bugs and exploits to stop wiggling its way out of acknowledging it. I was right every time, no matter how much people argued and defended the devs. Right now, BHVR clearly prioritizes their Sable skin buyers over anything else - their funeral.
Also, leave your replies in the according thread.
0 -
Then you have no useful feedback and you should not be listened to. Exactly as OP says.
-1 -
The latest BHVR's failures state otherwise, but keep lying to yourself.

Anyone can see that Fog Vials were overnerfed. I don't think anyone can hold on to a shred of credability by claiming they aren't. Most people tend to agree they didnt need both nerfs, and this has been the prevelant talking point of Fog Vials since.
True numbers will play a big part, but the fact is a lot of these changes are brute forcing the issue. They are very heavy handed and inelegant, so regardless of the numbers I can still be against core parts of the design.
I for example when playing killer don't want a whole bunch of basekit perks granted to me for just playing how I usually play, most notably auras. I refuse to use WoO and Nowhere to Hide on either sides, cause both perks tend to make you lazy with paying attention around you.
Similarly the decision to kicks gens is meaningful with a trade off of lost distance on survivor. Now you might as well cause you have an empowered kick... but on a slower killer who can't get there, or catch back up easily afterwards, this is nowhere near as helpful as it is on a faster killer... unless the haste buff they give is ridiculous... and haste is such a cheap and boring way of making anything viable...
This means if the unique hook changes are weak, then low tier killers are dead, as the benefits all become privileges of fast and lethal killers. If they are strong, then the game becomes brainless... just follow the colours the same way Blight does with BBQ and Lethal, kick gens and run after the Survivor with your free BL3 or 4. There is no balance to strike for me, I'm pointed exactly where I need to go either way, and whether its weak or strong, most of my decisions are made for me. It all bpils down to my chase lethality, it's merely a question of how well I can down that survivor... which again... favours more chase lethal killers. Like as a Trapper or a Hag... what do you suggest I do about getting my haste boost and auras? I have nothing set up on these locations, so I just waste time going there... chase is not where my power lies. Alternative Mori characters like Pig and Sadako get actively punished for using their powers as intended.
So the not tunneling playstyle becomes unga bunga strong or exclusively beneficial to stronger killers, which will be one thing I don't like, but what about tunneling? Surely its better for Survibor... Well call me crazy, but in the same breathe, I as survivor don't want the killer to have Shackles on them that makes me inherently safe against them. Yes it's annoying when a teammate sells me out to Blight by unhooking me when he's barely had chance to move more than a rushes of distance from me... but I should fear the killer at all times, not sit back thinking "you fool, you've activated my trap card" when my team mates serve me up for the killer to tunnel.
Similarly these changes are quite exploitable, like the slugging change. What does a killer do if I successfully sabo a hook? Wiggle progress doesn't regress, he either let's them get Unbreakabale basekit for the rest if the trial, or let's them wiggle of their shoulders to prevent it. What if a survivor lingers for a pallet/flashlight save? I've gotta push them.off, but the longer I take to do so, the closer I get to granting basekit unbreakable. Again… slower killers who can't catch up fast get punished so much harder here no matter how you slice it. I can easily see how I can exploit this against killers, and if someone sabos for me, or pallet camps for me, I can sit staring at him thinking "Hah! What are you gonna do now?".
There are good things in these updates, I'm sure the elusive and the no clip features will be fine. Without the heavy handed penalties, a small haste buff to weaker killers will be fine. The getting faster progressively over time while slugged is also good...
But quite a few of these proposals are very heavy handed changes, that I don't think its unreasonable to voice early concerns, of for no other reason than to give BHVR as much feedback as early as possible to factor into their final designs.
3 -
But your only feedback is 'the last patches didn't work so just give up and stop trying'.
2 -
And your feedback is "let's blindly trust the devs, they are clearly competent and know what they're doing, also they totally weren't documented ignoring and dismissing solid advice on a recent live stream".
-2 -
I believe there is something you don't understand guys.
When the weak link is found, they are getting tunneled out! It's terrible experience for them, but also for a team they are playing with. Leaving a match in 3v1 state isn't possible, unless you're eternal/invictus/(insert comp team) members!
You only see yourself - you will have harder time because you can't make that scenario happen so easily.
It's not fun to get tunneled out and sit on a bench for the rest of the match, watching your friends play.Killers massively started tunneling and slugging people, so other side, one that was on receiving end wanted this to change.
You brought it to yourself.I don't tunnel myself and I am getting above avg kill rate, just barely, but I do. While playing dredge, pig, unknown and dark lord mostly.
-3 -
I would agree at least when it comes to releasing things to the PTB for testing. They should never feel like they can't even test something because the community freaks out over an outline of what they're planning to test.
If I were to suggest something to them it would be to reinforce and communicate that the PTB isn't a fast track to live - it's literally for testing and gathering data and feedback from actual played matches.
0 -
Oh, is that what I said?
1 -
Yes. Because none of the issues detected in the last PTB were fixed, which shows that BHVR pays no attention to feedback. BHVR is stacking a Jenga tower of bugs, issues, and problems, and keeps adding more on top—this approach is not changing, but everybody expects a miracle.
-1 -
If they're not listening to feedback then, they're not listening now, so what difference does it make to you?
4 -
I gave up on this game long ago, I'm merely watching it die while enjoying all the Survivor hand-holding. It's funny to watch people defend devs each time they screw up though
-2 -
You're not helping your case of 'devs should listen to the forums' here, bud.
2 -
I'm making fun of people who enjoy BHVR disrespecting them and exploiting them for money.
-2 -
Really just proving OP's point here.
1 -
Like I said, I have been right many times before. OP's blind faith in BHVR is their own problem.
-3 -
Yes and no.
The thing I think they have to commit to is the idea. They've said this is coming, they've said that this is the biggest issue currently facing the game, given the surveys and data they have they are likely right on it.
Execution though is always a question, whether it's done in a way that both accomplishes their goal and doesn't break something else is something they should get a lot of feedback on.
Hopefully, they go into this not just listening to the loudest voices but actually try and get a sense of how it will impact the overall player base.
1 -
If you don't want to give BHVR another chance that's your prerogative. OP and Firellius at least want to see the changes on PTB; you know, to test changes. This would most likely be a make or break for a lot of people who are putting what little faith they have left in the devs to actually listen to feedback after the changes hit PTB. I think the last thing anybody wants is another walking dead situation.
1 -
Yes they should it's not even that big of a change, mostly basekit killer buffs actually, it's in your control if you avoid hooking the same surv twice in a row
6.1 was 10 times worse and people adapted, less distance after getting hit, longer gens, most meta perks hard nerfed, global killer buffs… even then people weren't doomposting this hard it's ridiculous, full meltdown mode, this is why we can't have nice things
