The PTB Has A Massive Speed Exploit for Survivors
SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: I didn't want to describe how I did it because I don't want people to recreate it, but the format seems to want me to. Basically by doing a certain sequence of events a survivor can gain a massive speed boost, making them much faster than the killer. This speed boost seems to go away when downed, but does not go away upon healing, vaulting, repairing generators, dropping pallets, or basically any other action. It seems to be directly related to the slugging movement speed.
PLATFORM: PC, Steam, Windows.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: I was attempting to test the new recovery changes by seeing how quickly I could go from being downed to being full health using the perks (Unbreakable, Plot Twist, Conviction, and Boon: Exponential). I do not believe Unbreakable and Exponential are related to the bug, but I cannot say for sure. In a custom game with my friend, I set up Boon: Exponential, healed an injured survivor after they had been hooked, and then met with the killer to test the recovery speed. He downed me (as Myers, originally), then after a few seconds I used Conviction to pick myself up. I then immediately re-downed myself with Plot Twist and healed myself to full. After recovering, I had the massive speed boost. I had also spent a decent amount of time already downed, so my crawl speed was quite fast. I attempted to record this after it happened, but my recording software crashed, and then the game crashed. I recreated it in another game with the new killer, and experienced the same outcome (this time I intentionally waited on the ground for my speed to increase). My belief is that the crawling speed is being carried over to the normal state due to either Conviction or Plot Twist. My recording software was still malfunctioning on the recreation attempt, but I did give my phone to my roommate to record in from that so there's at least some video proof. I will attempt to do it again with a proper computer capture soon.

I attempted it in a live game and was unsuccessful in recreating it. My main thought is that instead of picking myself up and immediately using plot twist, I relocated to a safer place to plot twist. I will try again later when my friends are available to do a custom match.

I accidentally figured this bug out in customs and figured out exactly how it works and it seems to be an interaction between conviction and the base kit tenacity. Basically if a survivor picks themselves up with conviction, and is then downed by the killer BEFORE conviction timer runs out, they get huge speed after being unhooked/saved. This doesn't work while healthy so survivors may be bringing it with no mither so they can down themselves with plot twist after using conviction and no mither is to prevent a full heal since that resets the bug.
Basically you only need conviction to make the bug happen but no mither and plot twist make it easier to do the sequence of events to trigger it.0 -
You're right, I just confirmed it. The thing that causes the bug is getting downed right after using conviction. Whether it be by Plot Twist or by the killer. Also in my testing I retained the speed even after being downed again. After recovering and being hooked, I still have it.

And (un)fun fact: The perk stacks with itself as many times as you can do it. As the comments in this thread have shown me, it's unfortunately much easier to do than I thought, and is much stronger than I thought. All you need is conviction (plot twist and No Mither make it easier). This new video shows the full process and highlights the absurdity of the exploit and why I REAAAAAAAAAAALLY hope it doesn't make it to live.

It wont make it to live. I'm more worried about it existing the rest of the ptb its already catching on. Conviction needs killswitch so other things can be tested or it'll be every other game.
