Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why do you think there is a Public Test Build?

So, I wanted to take the time to remind everyone that this latest patch was on the Public Test Build. While it was always possible it would go through to live unchanged, that wasn't a given. It has not been completely canceled, they are going to look at it again, make some changes, and likely do another PTB in the future.

There is a public test build for a reason. They are using it to… wait for it… TEST AND GET PLAYER FEEDBACK. If they aren't going to listen to the feedback, then there is no point in wasting time with a public test build. They obviously realize that, why can't so many of the game's players?

My feed back has been great? The systems work as intended and the new killer is great, map changes welcomed and the new survivor+ perks are cool and exciting

Most of the feedback supports the content in the test build.

Also the test build is for pc players only. Ignores everyone on console.

2 content creators (who are elevated for no reasons and are simply just other normal players in reality) plus a handful of killer mains have cried. That shouldn't hold more weight than the majority of comments supporting the changes.

The fun part is there are plenty of people who disagree with you. Me as an example.

The changes disproportionately hurt lower tier killers, create a lot of scenarios where killers don't want to kill and survivors want to die.

This update would ruin every element of the game that I find stimulating and enjoyable as a 70/30 Survivor/Killer player. TBH to my mind this uodate is so bad, you would have to revert 90% of it for me to consider any part of this ######### show a success.

Does my opinion matter more than yours? No. But as the old saying goes. Opinions are like Buttholes... everyone has got one, and they all talk #########.

No, there were a lot of players on both sides that did not like all the changes that were done. It wasn't just a few content creators.

Even I think PART of it was fine, but part of it was not.

As for there not being a public test build on console, that's true however that's on Sony and Microsoft due to the way they handle patches. Even Epic does not support "betas" like Steam does. Maybe someday Epic, Sony, and Microsoft will implement a way to support a public test build for games like DBD. But that time is not now, it can't be helped.

Also it's important to note do to the precieved nature of losing things. People are upset this wouldn't change even if the buffs were 30% haste for 10 mins and 40 seconds of BBQ each hook. Lose always effects humans stronger then gain I'm sure some one smarter then me and explain it.

With that said you can tell in the first few sentences people who have legitimate criticisms which exist obviously the system isn't perfect. And people who are lashing out throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks (there A LOT).

To top it off there shouldn't change a single thing non bug related form the PTB this update is to big to test in a small isolated group. It should go live and see how it effects everyone. Then course correct as needed

The ptb should have either been for just the new killer and survivor—and maybe some small updates/tweaks, like the pallet density—or just the major changes. There was way too much going on here at once, but the desire for endless new content is going to hold back actual progress. I'd rather see that progress prioritized over even more characters and perks in a game that's overflowing with both.

Agreed, it’s the PTB for a reason, and even though it normally goes through to live servers unchanged, this one is the largest update we’ve had in a long time, an update that affects all tiers of the killer roster and all survivors; making sure it’s ironed out so that both sides can have an enjoyable experience is crucial in making it a true success. Rushing this just based off of personal feelings is irrational and only leads to bigger mess. In the meantime, play the game, win or lose, look back at what plays were made that won or lost the game, analyze those plays, and improve your game.
