Tunneling/Slugging Update
The Slugging feature was fine but the Tunneling update was the problem not saying I need to tunnel to get kills. The problem was definitely if someone misplayed then the killer gets punished for it

I agree that was the main problem, but I personally feel like the slugging needed tuning too. It was too much at once and it gave survivors a lot of power to bully killers with sabo/pallet stuns with no real counter other than letting the person go. If you are trying to incentivize hooking every survivor, hook denial is going to be a huge problem. Especially sabo, because killers have no real counter to sabo other than slugging and with the slugging changes slugging is dead almost completely.

I'm on the opinion that the Slugging update wasn't fine as it is.
Playing the PTB i've went against a "bully squad" focused on using the new anti-slug mechanics to force lose-lose situations - probably to test how far the system could be pushed. I couldn't pickup because there were someone close with a flashlight and i couldn't slug because they've started picking themselves up after the 90s; also, there was someone with a sabo in case i picked up and tried to reach a hook. It was silly because i already had my dose of "bully squads" in normal game and tried to deal with them but i think it would be far more stressful for a beginner player. Also slugging for pressure is practically gone since if you leave a survivor on the ground while you get a hit probably you will lose he/she on the ground.
They should increase carry and pickup speed of killers or else the anti-slug system will be far too abusable.

It's not a "punishment". The gen speed increase is meant to give the remaining survivors a chance, so the game isn't over as soon as it's 1v3.

I get that but, the reason I say its a punishment is that if someone miss plays you're no longer able to use your build assuming you are running slow down perks which in this economy of dbd who isn't
-5 -
as a tweak instead of it being 90 seconds collectively, what about it resetting every down and maybe about 50-60 secon. But then again I just other perks would effect recovery time so that would be difficult in itself idk.

It doesn't matter. The next time they try this with be 2027. We've seen it all before.

The tunneling update could've been solved by just reducing the number from 6 to 4. Even low-tier killers could work with that. It would punish tunneling without adversely affecting killers who don't tunnel.

The slugging feature was terrible as well. The goal is to punish toxic slugging which is trying to bleed people out, not punish pressure slugging, which is what that feature was doing.
And honestly since we already have the abandon on a 4 slug implemented slugging isn’t even an issue anymore.

I honestly don't know why they didn't implement that pausing timer feature into the slugging like they did with anti-facecamp mechanic

It does need to be fine tuned, but the idea itself is good.
Punishment needs to be reduced. It can't be permanent, but instead re-apply on subsequent hooks after triggering it for the first time, with a duration of 35-40 seconds, to block perks like Pain Res, DMS and Deadlock from applying.
Now, there also needs to be checks in place for the system to know if a survivor is abusing it, like intentionally popping a Pig head-trap to trigger punishment.-2 -
You mean like if they killer hovers near them on the ground they can get up?
-3 -
No. When a killer hooks a survivor there is a short pause when the bar is not filling up in order to give killer time to move from the hook.
I was thinking about it more as a pause before the anti-slugging bar is starting to fill up so killers like oni and twins could attack someone else before hooking the slugged survivor without getting penalized from that system.

I mean that helps but in general this wouldn’t fix anything. There are many killers and times where they need to slug much longer than that. I don’t think there’s inherently anything wrong with slugging itself for pressure. The only thing I think is an issue is bleed out scenarios and that’s been basically already addressed with the abandon feature so I don’t think slugging needs any changes at all really.

That's my opinion too. Since the Abandon feature you can just quit if a killer uses Slug for BMing.
But it seems that Bhvr wants to remove slugging as a tactic, """"forcing"""" you to hook anytime you get a down.
But if they do that, they should make hooking much easier than it is today - as the basic killer pick up speed is very low and you mov slower too if you are carrying someone.

Yeah, but the pause timer for that didn't have to be like 10 seconds. It could be like 40 seconds and then after that it could take 50 seconds to fill up a bar so survivor could recover himself from the ground. So it's still like 90 seconds, but way fair to killers who needs to pressure slug

Even the slugging thing was stupid. No need for teamplay on the side of the team, is nonsenes wothin a 1 v 4 game. No one has to leave a gen to pick his mate, so we get even more gen rush. Unlimited unbreakable deluxe for free? And what do the killer get in return?

I see what you’re saying, that does make sense. I just feel like there’s many times you slug for pressure not around the survivor. So like I need to chase survivor A but if I do survivor B is gonna be pumping out the last generator so I have to slug survivor C to hopefully pull survivor B off the gen to give me enough time to chase survivor A.
The problem with these free pick ups is it removes any pressure from slugging. If I know my teammate can just pick himself up I’ll just leave him there while I sit on gens pumping. That’s why don’t like self pick ups.

How can it not be an issue if its happening though?

This is the issue behavior is trying to remove unfun elements of the game. Pressure slugging is just making a survivor eat dirt while you run around and play with one one else. Like tunneling is a harmful and unhealthy element to the game.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars have gone down the drain from these tactics alone behavior sees that in the metrics and the numbers. And with fnaf and the TWD giving the biggest player boost it's ever seen they wanted to keep that live blood but have allowed doom posters and streamers who do nothing for the game ruin something that could have been tweaked to perfection.
I think of every time a new element gets added to the game that survivors have to deal with we get told to wait a few months, adapt or that balancing is a long process and to be patient. I'm not going to give examples because anyone with two eyes has seen those words uttered by community managers, player and streamers alike. Except when it comes to a certain area of the game I guess

If what’s happening?

What exactly have survivors had to deal with your referencing? Other than mmr problems and bad perks that need reworks/buffs I don’t have any issues on survivor.
There’s literally no difference between being on the hook and being on the ground except you can do a lot more on the ground than you can on a hook. If anything being hooked would be the more boring gameplay.
