PTB needs an overhaul

The PTB has been a major flaw for quite a while now - with problems like no mmr, players goofing around with the new content, and overall the small minority of players that get to actually play the PTB, it seems it needs to get changed. It is meant as a public test but having it only available to people on Steam is not only unfair but inaccurate data to use and gather feedback on. The large majority of the player base is on console, having them included as well as Epic games players would give a much better community base opinions and reactions to upcoming changes. I have one solution in mind that maybe could work but i’m not 100% sure

My proposed change to the PTB:

  • Remove the PTB from Steam and make a In-game modifier called “PTB”
  • Have the modifier in the game for 5-7 days when new changes are announced and new content is set to be added.

Having the PTB be a modifier in the actual game instead of exclusively for Steam would go a long way towards better player feedback since ALL players have access to give their opinions and feedback. So many times have changes gotten proposed on a PTB and never made it to live before we had the chance to see how it would play out in public matches.

    Well, that would still require an update on short notice, which isn't possible on most platforms other than Steam, so, it would still be Steam only. Not to mention that every platform needs to be the same build for cross-play to work.
