How do you measure a good game
Beyond the obvious full escape or 4k how do you measure a good DBD match on both sides? Personally my number 1 is fun. I'm a big horror fan and any time I feel like I'm in an actual horror movie it helps. It could be simple moments like being crouched behind a wall as you watch the killer go by hoping they dont notice you. As a killer dropping from a rooftop onto a survivor and slicing them.
Obviously a non toxic opponent is always a plus. No one tea bags, no unnecessary strikes from the killer. In terms of actual results as a survivor I just want to know that I helped in someone way even if I'm the first one out. It could be popping a gen, unhooking an ally, anything that let's me know I did something. As a killer I just hope I gave someone a good thrill. A sacrifice is also quite nice. Also nothing is more satisfying as a exit gate knock down and grab.

My favorite trials are ones where I get to stealth and hide from the Killer and also engage in meaningful chases where I can help my teammates, play altruistically, and not be abandoned in the end (unless I sacrifice myself). I'm almost too willing to play martyr in the game, which might come as a surprise. I just don't like when it feels like I'm peacing out for nothing at all. Sitting on 1.5 gens between getting chased off, then downed and tunneled out is the opposite of how I want to experience the game but it's also the most common scenario.

I get that. I did a springtrap match yesterday. I had a lot of good chases with him and felt like I was getting the hang of it. In he chased me in the end game and got me. However all my teammates escaped and the killer got a mori. I feel like that is a pretty good result for everyone. I enjoyed that match.

Games where we actually get to play. If they aren’t gonna do anything about tunneling and slugging and I’m not going to get to play anyway, might as well just disconnect.

My absolute favorite game is an all or nothing end game, everyone lives or everyone dies, at least from killer pov. But it's been quite a long time since that happened to me and even when I played killer a ton it was an extremely rare scenario requiring a competent and willing survivor squad. A survivor will UB or deli when I've thought I've won only to come back in to start picking people again instead of leaving. Can probably count that experience on a single hand but man is it great.

Close matches, both as killer and as survivor. I like everyone to be on death hook with 1 to 0 gens left. I want it all to come down to the end of the game, and I want all four survivors around until then. That to me is the real tension. Who will live and who will die? Unfortunately, I rarely get that. I intentionally spread hooks to keep everyone alive for a while but some people are just so bad there's little I can do. And as survivor, I rarely get the courtesy of hook spreading.
I'm also a huge fan of hijinks. The most fun matches I've had have been either silly or the ones where the killer played their own mini game. I recently had a match against a basement Springtrap running Franklin's and we had to first get him to let us open the chest, and then try to get the item away. But he kept hitting us and standing on top of it. A well placed boon totem allowed us to recover from downs too, which worked out perfect for that match. It was probably the most fun match I've ever played.

I'm also a martyr. I'm pretty much incapable of leaving if someone's on hook at end game. Even if I'm the last one left, I'll just go trade their death for mine. It's why my stats will always be in the dumps.

A good game is one where i have fun. bonus points if whoever im versing has personality. Its fun as scratched mirror myers when you see a swf together pointing and trying to get one to see if the coast is clear. its so funny and they always have fun too. Even matches where i get dookie stomped are good so long as there was no tunneling or toxic behavior in general.

- hivemind mentality (solo que will know)
- 3 teammates death hooked, 1 1st time hooked
- On 2nd or last generator, usually last generator
- no one tunneled out/teammates tried to help victim out
- general efficiency - when people disregard points and play 'for the win', even if that means they die for the greater good/outcome

How close it is. Games that can go either way are always my favourite. Steamrolling or being steamrolled is the worst.

One time me and an Oni were hashing it out hard pre-year 6. I 4%ed off hook fast enough while being abandoned, ran to the open gates, went down, DSed, kept running, and I think he got me again. SO FRUSTRATING at the time, but I really do miss the balls to the wall play. Endgame is too simple and one-sided now.
I get selfish now if I know it's a fool's errand, but I used to play purely altruistically when WGLF was still fun. Feels bleak these days as someone that prefers altruism and stealth. 😭
