Why do the devs just forget reworks most of the time?
No, I’m not saying that the devs get the men in black memory wipe treatment, I’m instead talking about the killer reworks the devs kinda just ignored after it was said and done.
Skull Merchant: this is probably the most obvious example of this but it can’t be helped, Skull Merchant after rework was ignored for a year before getting gutted just because people hated her. It still baffles me because if they just removed the stacking haste before knee capping her we would probably still have her in a usable state, but nah just kill her after a year of nothing who cares? While she dose have rework pending I’m scared that they’ll do this again. I used to main Skully but after this Rework I’m probably not gonna play because they’re kinda just removing her identity and replacing with a new one. She’s a hunter who tracks her prey and makes sure that her kills are as personal as possible, How dose that translate to a ranged power where her drones do all the work?
Trickster: just like skully after patch 7.4.2 (7.4.0 was his first rework) the devs just kinda forgot about trickster and haven’t touched him sense. However just like skully he also has a rework coming but idk if I’ll play this now due to me already not liking the trickster but only time will tell.
Sadako: yeah I’m not even gonna lie. I feel even worse for the Sadako players that have gotten nothing since 7.5.1 y’all have gone through the trenches just as much the Merchant mains. Ya’ll went from a Strategy killer, to a chase killer, and back to a strategy killer but worse and y’all have gotten literally nothing since then. I prey that Sadako gets something in the near future but I’m not even that will even happen considering long it’s been.
Nurse: she was reworked in 6.5.0, has not been touched since, and is still the best killer in the game.
Freddy: our newest member to be ignored as soon as it came out club Freddy got His first rework in 3.1.0 in the final thing he got from that rework was in 4.7.0 and Jesus Christ how did ya’ll stick with this killer for that long but that’s besides the point. Freddy got his second rework in 8.5.0 and has still received nothing after that. Which I understand this kind of because he’s one of the newer Reworks but it would be nice to have a buff or something to make him feel better playing him he might get something eventually, but I’m not sure when that will be.
And that’s kind of it for now. I’m not sure if after the Myers rework it will be the same story, but we can only hope that we don’t let them forget about a these guys in the future. (I was originally going to mention Chucky, but I didn’t include him because it took like multiple patches to have Chucky function differently from what he is now)

Skully and Trickster are "in the pipeline" but have been delayed endlessly due to the whole rescheduling of content because of all the bugs.
I don't think they even have anything planned for Sadako.

In Nurse's case it has to be because of preferential treatment. There's no other reasonable argument able to explain why she still is allowed to be an Overwatch character in DBD after almost a decade.

honestly my guess is just kill rate. Since she’s an extremely hard killer to play, and most people will flock to her because they looked up best killer in DBD this ends up with a lot of people, not knowing how to play her and just end up, losing causing low kill rates.

The gutting and subsequent neglect of Skull Merchant has left me utterly bereft of any faith in a positive rework that maintains her identity.
I made a post nearly a year ago after her "rework" (actual kneecap removal) about a severely obnoxious bug that causes Drones on completely different floors/elevations above and below removed from the map when hooking a survivor because for some ungodly reason the game counts them as overlapping with the hook Radius. It straight up deletes Drones on a completely different floor. So if you're on Hawkins, midwich, have a drone above the basement, or in a building below, it gets removed when hooking a survivor -_- it wasn't in the game before the rework at all.
So it's pretty obnoxious.

There is no "extremely hard killer to play" in DBD and if there was one it would be Billy. There also are several killers with both lower and higher kill rate than her at all MMR ranges so statistics can't be a major reason.

There is way too much content in the game now and it’s not like BHVR is hiring more people to support the growing content. The larger the pile of unresolved things (bug fixes, updates, reworks, etc) becomes, the more of that pile will just never get worked on at all.

Reworks take way too long to work on. Truly. This is something I really hope they speed up with. It’s been almost 2 years since anything for Sadako. She’s awful to play as. My main killer other than Houndmaster.
Sadako needs some love and this is why I wanted to slow down the content. To specifically work on bugs and reworks. It’s just taking WAY too long to get updates for content we already have. It’s depressing.

oh no, I’m not saying that rework should happen more frequently. I’m just saying after a killer is reworked they’re kind of forgotten about a good chunk of the time and don’t really get any changes unless your hillbilly. Like for example, after the nurse rework the devs have not given her a single change since

reworks don't bring in the same amount of money new chapters do, its really that simple sadly wish it was different honestly.

BHVR needs to just stop doing reworks for killers that are pretty much fine. They need to finish up their current WIP reworks and then just stop doing new reworks for killers that are generally fine and only need number tweaks like Myers. Myers was weak yes, but he was fun to play and now he is turning into Pig.
I'm sick of spending money on characters only for BHVR to just change how they are played.
