Sprint burst nerf suggestions?
So the devs are talking about nerfing all the exhaustion perks, but I feel like most people would agree that sprint burst is the only perk that needs to be looked at. I thought maybe a way to change it would be to give it a requirement like all the other exhaustion perks. What if sprint burst activated after the survivor has been in a chase for 3 seconds? I think what most people dont like about it is that it makes survivor able to wait until the killer is right next to them, before they sprint away. With this change they wont be able to do that, but it will still let them create a gap between them and the killer.
With this change it would also not be a total counter to a lot of the killers abilities (Pig dash, wraith uncloak, cannibal chainsaw). Let me know what you think )

why should you regain exhaustion in a chase? that's all they are changing it makes you want to use your stuff more decisively than just asap and wait for it to come back i dont see why people have problems with this but then again i do play survivor and killer. i guess i would be upset too if i were a survivor main

Anyways

I have talked to a Moderator about your suggestion and he told me that... "It wouldn't prevent multiple uses of the perk while in a chase" "Survivors can react 3 seconds early and still get the same effect like before" I told him that his first point is true but I explained that sometimes survivors wouldn't have the time to wait for their Sprint Burst to activate within 3 seconds and could lead to the survivor taking a early hit.0 -
They just need to make the change to SB only instead of all exhaustion perks.. but as I see the dev's want easy solutions instead of more working, because they could easily fix the swf problem & "gen rush" problem by making the time a gen needs to be done longer when you're a 3+ man swf or at higher ranks.. but that would mean work and programming and I think they don't like that much

As for multiple uses in a chase I havent seen many people complain about that? Idk the only time a survivor will be able to use an exhaustion perk several times in a single chase is if the killer is bad and takes too long to catch them.

Here's my take on it : Survivors need to sprint for 3 (maybe 5s) while IN A CHASE in order for it to activate. It would be way more similar to Lithe this way.

If 3s is found to be too little, they could check if 5s would be better. I really do think this would put SB in line with the other exhaustion perks, without having to nerf them all

The problem with that is, that anybody could now sprint all the time without triggering it.
No more need to walk somewhere outside the chase.0 -

No more need to walk somewhere outside the chase. And? I dont really see the issue with that. At high ranks people just sprint around anyway, so it's not a big change. And this way it would be both a nerf to the perk, but also with some minor buffs to it.

Actually it IS a big change, since the need to walk everywhere to avoid triggering SB and not having it up and ready when you need it is the biggest downside of SB.
(That's what SB user tell us all the time)0 -

(That's what SB user tell us all the time)Yes but as I said, at higher ranks (at least from what I see) most people DONT save their sprint burst by just walking around everywhere. They still sprint around as long as they know the killer is busy with something else. At least with this change they wont get the burst when they're not in a chase.

Sprint burst is probably the most realistic perk in the game. People need to get over it. Yeah the exhaustion part makes sense, but if you saw a killer coming to you, wouldn’t you start running at your top speed??

Because if they have sprint burst up they can just use it to get to a window/pallet.

Yeah and if they’re in a corner the literally can’t sprint burst out of there.

@SadonicShadow i love how survivor mains are squirming because their meta perks are about to get changes AND pallet vacuums are gone.
and about a month ago they were like oh these dont need nerfs but now they are suggesting alternate nerfs because they dont like the one that is balancing and planned

Survivors will ALWAYS kick and scream every step of the way when it comes to protecting their precious meta. All changes are unacceptable to them unless it directly benefits them and harms the killer. They want a 1v1 meta that gives them an advantage over the killer. Thankfully there are some sensible survivor mains like @weirdkid5 that understand the advantage survivors hold and wish to see the game balanced fairly.

Reasons WHY I don’t like the changes. 1) Sorint burst is OP in execution, the perk it’s self needs a nerf. What’s balanced landing ever do to you!?. DS is fine with a nerf, that perk is AIDS. 2) Self cafe should delay the reset by 3 or 5 seconds, so a teammate can begin healing you. The LAST thing we need is even less cooperation of solo players.

I cant tell if you're talking about me like im a survivor main, or survivors in general? My suggestion is a bigger nerf than the current exhaustion change they have planned

I am more or less fine with the exhaustion change but i do agree that sprint burst needed more direct attention. Sprint Burst being used in a chase twice was bullshit and the initial sprint burst really harms ambush killers like The Pig and Wraith. The exhaustion change deals with one of the issues but not the other. I think most everyone can agree that it should have been sprint burst that got nerfed specifically vs all exhaustion perks generally.
Edit: Also Jack in response to your suggested selfcare delay i do agree. The heal should reset completely but it should indeed be delayed for atleast 3 seconds so that if a team mate wants to heal me they can.

It’s funny how Killer mains complain about sprint burst so much. Is sprint burst OP, as a sprint perk, sure. Does it need an exhaustion nerf, sure. Here’s the problem, if a survivor is able to use sprint burst on you twice, you’re clearly doing something wrong. At Rank 1 killer maybe 1 in 100 players ever get to use sprint burst on me twice. Don’t let them juke you so long cause then you try to blame other things like a perk for your incompetence. Learn to play strategically and use your brain. Next you will complain about how fast generators are getting done after these nerfs/buffs.

??? I swear people on this forum just make stuff up. Show me where I said I have an issue with sprint burst being used twice in a chase. I literally said the exact opposite, that most killers DONT have that problem. Is reading that hard for you?

Then please explain how exhausting sprint burst will balance the game? You will always find something to complain about, I can turn right around and say NOED is op af too, and that “it doesn’t bring balance”

Exhausting sprint burst wont automatically balance the game. it is just a small piece that will culminate into an overall balanced game. I do agree that NOED can be a bullshit perk but it is a bullshit perk that has a very easy counter to it so it can't be considered OP. Perks that are OP have at the very best a soft counter and a very strong effect. Before NOED was a hex it most certainly was OP. If this game gets balanced tho where every killer is viable i would be fine with NOED going away same with bloodlust. They are both necessary evils that try and band-aid piss poor game design.
