So... another video on people DC'ing.
New video just dropped.
Hopefully we will get to the points when people don't have a reason to DC.
90-95% of the time it's the surviviors that are DCing, I think we all can agree on that
What I believe we should do, is getting rid of the reasons that people are DCing, which are:
- Unfun killers! Making krasue better then nurse and blight doesn't really help the game's health.
Killers should go live as strong as this one. It's better to buff them later, so people would not feel angry first. - Unfun killers no. 2 - There is few killers that "shine" more than the others.
Blight, nurse, kaneki, singularity, clown - they are just not fun to verse.
They make people feel powerless sometimes, which isn't healthy at all. Sometimes you just can't do anything. - MMR - we need better system. There is nothing more miserable than random meg doing all the chest, totems - not doing their objective. Don't let such inefficient people in a good lobby - make system that don't skyrocket bad people into high mmr, esentially.
- Bugs - there is just too many. Content feels like being pushed without proper testing.
Like a week ago I had a match which I got stuck in a locker with my friend who tried to somehow help me.
We both had to wait until killer DCed after 10 minutes of gens not being done - we both didn't want to lose our pips. - Balancing doesn't feel right for some time now. Which goes back to killer design - some of them are really too strong and are not getting changed even tho we frequently ask for changes
- HIT DETECTION! why do we get hits that we shouldn't?
Killers are getting stunned and we still get a hit
We vault the window and killer hits us after the vault animation finishes
Kaneki still hits people through a wall
Huntress still gets weird hits that shouldn't register
I really believe that we should be able to ban killers - 3 killers per lobby
This would take away some pain points.
Some people can't play against plague, it makes them feel sick - espacially with the worms skins.
Some people can't play against dredge, because makes them feel nauseus.
Some people don't enjoy wesker, nurse, singularity, clown, the others don't enjoy trapper.
We have 41 killers now!
This would also be information tool for developers - if people would be massivly banning singular killer then they would know that they need to look into it!
One thing to note is that newly released killers should be excluded from the system for a period of time, week/month.

bruh some people will DC because they were the first found in a match and don't want to be chased. I've had insta DCs while playing deathslinger . The people in these videos are burnouts who just need to dc , turn of the game and live their life a little.

Agree, I had people DC against me while trying to adept on Legion and Wraith. Their base perks are absolute crap (Legion's being slightly better with Discordace, so I had some gen pressure), I was getting my cheeks clapped (wasn't tunnelling or slugging, playing normally as possible), and I still had two people DC because I hooked them. All because they weren't healing and went down in the open. XD

With no proper protection against tunneling being found first. Just shows the killer that you're the weakest link. It also means going after you is the most appealing as you already have a hook state, the killer has already shown He can catch you once so doing it two times shouldn't be a problem. And finally, he's going to know where your location is for the rest of the game which will probably be short for the player.
So ISo I hardly just because you're the first survivor down, is that unreasonable, especially with the state of the game currently

I like to say theyre the folks who have quit the game but just haven't realized it yet

A lot of the dcs I see
-People insta dcing as soon as the match starts
-people dcing or giving up when we are winning so many games most of the gens done kiler barely has any hooks someone goes down or on a hook dcs
-people dcing on their first down or hook
People will dc against any killer, any map and in any scenario.
people giving up or dcing always is way more deadly than anything the killers do.2 -
Why people on forums deny to acknowledge that there are things surviviors dislike?
If there are not surviviors left for you to go against, your game will be dead.
Why don't we care about other human beings?
Aren't we allowed not to like that you tunnel as a blight at 5 gens, using 4 gen resgression perks? Oh my god
-2 -
Can you tell me why are we supposed to please these crybabies? Some things need to be adressed for the survivor role obviously but I am not a fan of pleasing a crowd of people that dc becouse they got hit 20sec into a match. Dcs should be punished, not encouraged by the game or it's content creators like Scott Jund and Ayrun.
What do you mean get rid of "unfun killers"???
This game would literally have like 4 killers If we go with this idea. So many survivors don't like the majority of the killers so that's a terrible idea. Couple of days ago I literally had 2 games where a teammate of mine dc at 5 gens against a Springtrap and Dredge out of all killers. You putting Singularity in this category proves my point.
I agree on MMR being improved. Nothing pisses me more than seeing a Nea urban evading across the map. And this should be a priority number 1.
All bugs should be adressed, no disagreement there.
Balancing doesn't feel right becouse Behaviour either overbuffs or overnerfs perks and items. Then throw in MMR so bad that the teammates you get cannot even beat a Skull Merchant and you have your answer. For killers they play it too safe with the changes for lower tier killers and barely touch top tiers. Freddy's clocks still have immunity timers and their cooldown is so short that a used clock is back before the survivor will fall asleep again.
Hit detection and hitboxes overall are broken and should be tweaked. I don't want to get hit from outer space and I would like a killer power to not get screwed over by a survivor crouching in front of my face.
No. 3 killer banned per lobby? Again getting back to my point. Survivors hate majority of the killers and I wouldn't want a Legion player to wait a 20min queue becouse survivors refuse to learn their counterplay of not healing after all those years. Sure some killers are overtuned-Nurse, Blight, Krasue to name a few BUT not a single killer in this game makes survivor matches unplayable so no. Again a terrible idea.

The same can be said for the killer role, if survivors are just allowed to walk all over the killers for doing the absolute bare minimum requirement for their gameplay loop, aka downing and hooking a survivor. Then they will leave, and there will be no game either.
It's why games that were touted as a "DBD killer" and "Competition for DbD" died, because they gave too much power to one side and it just killed the gameplay loop.
Like Friday the 13th died, because muther Effing Jason Vorheese could be bullied to buggery and back by the survivor players, same with TCM.

Well, the one thing we haven't tried yet, and seem incapable of doing, is meaningfully addressing camping and tunneling at 5 gens.
The game is over for the first person found first, in the majority of cases, since hard tunneling is still meta, and that's the one thing that we haven't done anything to fix yet.
They made it worse this patch, which is infuriating. Nerfing OTR and pulling back everything else is kind of a big middle finger to people who are frustrated by this. That doesn't justify dc'ing, but apparently people need to quit for BHVR to notice or care (or, at least, threaten to quit).
But, clearly "punish them" with the "go next" mechanic and reworked dc penalty wasn't the right solution.

Because those crybabies contribute to devs salary - by buying DLC, by buying skins. They are the part of why we have this game.
Singularity is very opressive, that's why I put him there.
Tho we mostly agree, I believe.
I strongly believe that banning 3 out of 41 killers would be fair.
-1 -
But the killer role is the one that gets high winstreaks.
826 win streak nurse? 1947 win streak blight? I don't believe that should ever be possible.
Not even the best comp team could get high winstreak as a survivior. Eternal lost the streak to a console LEGION.

I really believe that getting rid of surviviors pain points is the right way to fight the DCs.
0 -
No way, banning killers would be incredibly unfair.
Going by that logic, I as a killer, should be able to ban survivors such as Mikela, Sable, Leon, Meg, Dwight, Kate, Bill, because they're super common and they're boring to face against.
Like, be for real right now. Why should Legion, Ghoul, Nurse, Blight, Billy, Dracula, Spingtrap etc have to sit in longer queues just because they're the top-hated picks of now, if not all time? It's unfair to the people who just want to play their favourite killer, or because they were interested in the IP and are now punished for playing a killer they rightfully paid for?
Like, I hate Plague. I always DC against her because the sound effects make me feel violently ill while playing against her. But even if I had the option to ban her, I never would. Just because she makes me nauseous, it'd still be unfair for the player trying to queue up as her, as they're not doing it to spite me in particular, they're just trying to play the game.

I don't mind you ban the mikaelas - they are just skin anyway. Survivor gameplay doesn't change with character they choose.
You talking about the plague is literally the thing I mean.
System would let you avoid the killer that YOU WOULD DC against. You got the point, but you didn't understand it yet.
By dc'ing against the plague you make the match bad for 4 other people. Also, not everyone would be banning plague, legion, blight etc - there are people that don't mind or enjoy going against them.
Me personally? I would not ban nurse, dracula, hillbilly or other S tier killers - I enjoy them.
-1 -
This is literally what I mean! People DC because they see a killer that they dislike! That's why I would love a killer banning system.
Or maybe a system that gives you a pool of killers which both sides can ban one by one.
-3 -
Personal problems and pettiness are no excuse for a horrid and senseless ban system that makes literally no sense to implement for the game and that will only ruin matchmaking and unfairly punish people for simply wanting to play their favourite killers. No one is entitled to cherry pick what they go against. If you don't like it then leave the match and suffer the relevant penalties.
But hey, i guess we should ban all items, exhaustion perks, second chance perks, healing perks too because we don't want to play against those either. :)
The absolute last thing this game needs is players having agency over what other people are allowed to even play as. We all know the exact killers 90% of people are gonna ban. The type of system only works in team based games where you select characters in the lobby anyway.
0 -
Exactly! I did the math, 3 bans per survivor, which is 4, so that's 16 killers in total of a roster of 41 killers. Out of those 16, barring double-ups, that leaves a grand total of 10 killers from the available pool. And even then, there's a chance that those 10 killers will be banned due to personal grudges, which whittles it down even further.
Which means, NO ONE will get a match, killer or survivor. Even then, there's a 99% chance that survivors will DC because of one reason or another.

whatever mental gymnastics help you cope with it . If you are doom queueing to leave every other game you really don't like dbd anymore.
1 -
Oook? Do you play survivor at all? See the threads about tunneling. No mental gymnastics needed. It really is ok not to reply if you don't have an actual rebuttal some one else who can might come around.
-1 -
Forum's killer really hate surviviors.
Surviviors problems really don't matter to you and you are just downvoting everything - like always.
-1 -
Don't do the math, do proper reading. I wrote that 3 killers would be banned per lobby.
-1 -
Bro, I interpreted it the way you wrote it. So maybe you should stop trying to twist and turn your arguments when people rightfully point out how unbalanced and unfair they are, and just admit that you have no idea what you're tallking about and are just trying to vent some frustrations after being bodied in your last few matches.
-1 -
Show me how much you play survivor if you wanna argue with me. You clearly don't understand how miserable survivior experience might be sometimes.
-1 -
I play 40% survivor, I know exactly how bad it can be. I know how frustrating it is to get bodied over and over again. But do you know what I do when things get annoying? I suck it up, or I hop off the game and do something else. I don't go to the forums to vent my spleen and suggest unbalanced changes that favour survivors over killers.
Complaints like yours are how we get idiotic and extreme changes like the extreme anti-slug and anti-tunnel proposals that recently got scrapped from the PTB. Because they're not legitimate complaints, rather it is BHVR caving to extreme survivor frustrations.
