PSA: old(ish) people play computer games
I've had a few post-game comments about the age of my Steam profile (member since November 2004), mostly nice comments but always surprised.
Shout out to all us oldies still mixing it up in PVP.

including me and I'm an adult now

I'm 35 myself, and my original Steam account is from 2004 (though I had to make my current main in 2011)

I’ve been on Steam since the very beginning and playing PvP games before that in the late 90’s. I’m definitely one of those “old(ish)” people :)

I played Texas Instruments computer games so I beat all of yall. I am more console though these days.

I'm only 29, and I've had people get upset when they lose and tell me to go take care of my kids instead of playing games. Honestly, I just laugh it off.
Edited to make the comment a little clearer, haha.

that’s on calculator. Texas Instruments used to have a plug in keyboard with various games that actually looked like 8 tracks. There was a game similar to space invaders. We didn’t have many but there was different ones. It was right before the Atari.

Play with your kids! Start them with Lego games though. I rely on my kids to tell me the games now lol

I feel young now.

I remember playing the E.T. game on the Atari. Wasn't the first game I ever played, but remember heading down to my friends basement for what was sure to be an 'amazing' game.
First 'online' PvP game I ever recall playing was Warcraft 1 when I had to first call someone on the phone to get their network info so I could connect to them. I think I played some games on the mid to late 80s Prodigy Internet connection, but didn't have a lot of computer time allotted and I preferred spending it on King's Quest (if my older brain is remembering the names right).
Sounds like @Unequalmitten86 has me beat by a fair bit though.

You've both got me beat, my first computer game was Mixed-Up Mother Goose 😂

My first console was the venerable Colecovision, youngin.
Your homework assignment is to look up the big brick of a controller they used. 🤪

For me it was Half Life 2 that forced me onto Steam (released on Steam on November 16, 2004).
My first gaming machine was an Atari 2600 with the awesome Pitfall!
