escaping through hatch led to a solid black screen

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: just escaped through the hatch and it gave me a solid black screen instead of the normal running animation. escaping through the hatch did not count towards the quest in the rift pass and i did not receive any sort of reward for escaping. the game crashed after sitting on the black screen.
PLATFORM: xbox series x
