Nurse Blink Inconsistencies: Backward Teleports, Terrain Auto-Targets, and Map Collision
SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:
While playing The Nurse, blinks frequently behave inconsistently:
- Chain blinks sometimes if blinked at the last second, causing a visible stutter blink, which results in fatigue instead of a normal teleport.
- The nurse occasionally snaps backward to her pre-blink position after appearing past a wall and even mid-swing.
- Exiting a blink near obstacles can auto-target terrain (rocks/walls) causing short swings into geometry instead of a lunge on the Survivor.
- Nurse can clip into floors/walls/staircases, briefly getting stuck and losing line of sight.
- Some full blinks are incorrectly blocked by thin walls/objects (registered as “not enough range”).
Occurs multiple times per match; most noticeable during chain blinks and when blinking close to map geometry.
PLATFORM: Console (controller) and PC (keyboard/mouse & controller). Observed on multiple sessions; ping stable (issue not tied to high latency)
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURRED:
A) Blink stutter / late blink + fatigue drift
Add-ons Used: Heavy Painting; Catatonic Boy’s Treasure
Perks: None that directly affect Nurse’s blinks (only gen regression and aura perks)
Steps to Reproduce:
- Play as The Nurse with the listed add-ons (also occurs without add-ons).
- Perform a 1st blink (can be through a wall, loop, or even in open ground).
- Charge the 2nd blink and intentionally hold it until just before fatigue begins.
- Release the blink input at the last second.
Expected Result:
- The 2nd blink should activate normally, teleporting Nurse to the aimed location before fatigue sets in.
Actual Result:
- Instead of a proper teleport, the blink will “stutter” Nurse forward a very small distance, almost like she is walking instead of blinking.
- Nurse enters fatigue, as if a blink had occurred, even though no actual teleport happened.
- This happens both in open space and near walls/loops — it does not require geometry interaction to trigger.
B) Backwards snap / rubber-band after passing a wall (Randomly)
- Blink through a wall or doorway
- Nurse briefly appears on the otherside, then teleports back to the pre-blink spot.
Expected: Position remains where you arrived.
Actual: Position is reset to the origin of the blink. It happens randomly, not sure what triggers it, but possibly due to short blinks or blinking too fast against terrain.
C) Auto-targeting terrain on exit / short swing instead of lunge
- Chain blink toward a Survivor near rocks, trees, or thin walls.
- On blink exit, press attack for a lunge.
- The attack magnetizes to the obstacle if a survivor is too close to the terrain or goes around the wall/doorway, causing you to do a short swing into the wall/rock, even when the Survivor is in front of you, then moves further away from you. Possibly due to it targeting the survivor, but the wall is closer to you.
Expected: Lunge tracks the Survivor.
Actual: Attack snaps to nearby terrain and whiffs.
D) Clipping into floors/walls/staircases (Happens on certain maps with staircases or multiple floor areas)
- Blink under/inside staircases, over small elevation changes, or across floors.
- Nurse lands partially inside the floor/wall/stairs and must blink again to escape, briefly losing line of sight.
Expected: Clean placement at the target location.
Actual: Partial embed in geometry; movement impaired (needs another blink to get out of location). Obviously, with some of the maps, Nurse can most likely find herself blinking through areas that aren't playable within the map due to certain parts of the maps not being fully closed off to her blinks. Just thought it should be made aware and hopefully addressed in the future.
E) Full-blink blocked by thin obstacles
- Attempt a max-range blink through a somewhat thick wall/structure.
- Blink registers as an insufficient range or cuts short despite the wall not being very thick.
Expected: Max-range blink reaches the intended spot if within legal pathing.
Actual: Blinks in place. Happens on certain maps, like Crotus Prenn Asylum, on the second floor, if you try to blink outside to a gen or where ever even holding a full blink, it will just blink you in place. Nostromo Wreckage if you try to blink through the spaceship, even if you are near the corner of it. The game will still think it's not enough range to blink through. Not sure what other maps, but similar to those maps. Just think Nurse Blinks should hopefully could be looked into more for the maps with structures or buildings so that her blinks are fully registered.
FREQUENCY:
Intermittent but common (several times per match), most frequent on chain blinks and tight angles near obstacles.
ADDITIONAL NOTES / CONTEXT:
- Reproducible with and without add-ons/perks.
- Seen on both controller and mouse/keyboard.
- Not tied to framerate drops (occurs at stable FPS).
- No reliable workaround besides avoiding tight geometry and delaying chain blinks—both reduce Nurse’s intended playstyle.
- Working on getting videos and recreating issues as well to hopefully provide more information regarding getting these issues fixed faster. Any additional information you need me to clarify, please feel free to add or let me know!

I have Blinked through the bottom of the map in the main building on Father Campbell's Chapel, myself, and can confirm that these issues are prevalent as someone who somewhat frequently plays Nurse, myself.

I just placed autogas haven and got rubber banded to the point I feel sea sick. It happened at least 5 times where I blinked to a survivor and then the server dragged me to a completely different place. I'd also add the main building in Toba is similar to nostromo it will not let you blink into it from certain angles. I have also repeatedly experienced the auto aim short swing into rock problem and there is absolutely nothing you can do beyond delay the chain blink but risk fatiguing.

And again I am rubber banded around on auto wreckers, 2nd blink just not charging and getting auto aimed into random bits of debris on the map when I am aiming at the survivor after a chain blink. You were told about this bug in the ptb by SupaAlf and it still went live, Nurse is unplayable in this current format.

Can we PLEASE get this ######### fixed as soon as possible? Seems like the devs don't really give a ######### if Nurse is bugged or not.

The chain blink appears to be fixed but the rubber banding is still ridiculous, and the blink animation now sometimes does not play, it appears your blink has been swallowed and then all of a sudden you appear where you were aiming.

Are the devs going to fix this ######### bug finally or not? I keep getting rubberbanded

I rubberbanded back to my original Blink position 8 times in a row mid-chase with an Ada on Swamp.

Months later and we're still nowhere nearer to a fix. How long does it take to review this #########?
