DBD needs perk total overhaul
For various reasons like the fact that at some point there will be no ideas for new perks, or that game is more and more inaccessible for new players because perk clutter to name a few.
And what I mean by overhaul I mean total overhaul.
Remove all perks, reintroduce 1 perk per character plus 1 general perk per chapter or few chapters.
Of course refund all perks bought via shrine.
Additionally, add 1 additional perk per survivor as their "power", that is locked perk that cannot be shared to other survs and cannot be unequipped, leaving room for only 3 additional perks.

That… doesn't making me personally mad, and sometimes I really wish we had less perks, but I'm even afraid to imagine the community's reaction to something like this :/ Even niche builds have their fans

But tbh. Without such change,m at some point there will be no new perks at all. Wait untill old hex: ruin will be implemented with different name because lack of ideas for perks and mechanics.-1 -
Otz did a video partly about this a little time ago, and I agree with his take: Merge weaker perks so we have fewer, and the weaker ones get stronger so they are worth a slot again.
Another idea (not from Otz) would be to assign each perk a rating, and if your equipped perks stay below certain thresholds, you get some kind of reward during or after the game. Extra pip when you escape, bonus BP, a random item at start, a random fifth perk, see the killer aura at game start … anything to make players consider not taking the strongest perks.
