Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Springtrap is SO bad

He's genuinely like D-Tier my teams always get 3-4 escapes against him when Im surv and when I try him as killer he feels so quite like a terrible version of huntress, his axe is SO easy to dodge and clunky/ slow wind up etc. This killer could be really good please rework or buff him somehow. It's a real shame because he was so anticipated. His power is actually more helpful for survivors than himself which is just bizarre.

Nah he is alright. He does feel like a worse huntress I agree, he does also destroy my entire musclememory I got for huntress - BUT he can be effective when you learn orbitals with him and learn the timing of pridiction-shots for him, also you forget that he has a teleport and is also 4.6 on command.

While I suck with him because I'm simply to used to huntress and don't want to destroy my abilities with her, he can be effective in the right hands.

(That being said he could probably be buffed a little, I just don't think he sucks as much that you have to call him bad)

I think he only needs addons changes and a reduction of his footsteps volume.

As someone who plays him a lot I would propose:

    Make restaurant menu basekit.

Change telephone, that addon is legit worse than useless.

Make the cooldown after the axe throw lower, he feels very clunky.

And I think he would be a decent high B-low A tier killer.

Not really, because springtraps mobility can be prerrunned very easily, meaning perks like sprintburst absolutelly kill any value his mobility offers.

While huntress can counter prerunning by shooting long range shots, springtrap cannot do this.

Furthermore, now that people know the very obvious tell that he is using the tp, its very easy for players of any skill level (if they play with audio on) to prerun, so its not like there is a skillfloor to completely countering the mobility.

While I also think he only needs small buff he does have some major weaknesses.

His stealth is virtually useless, you can hear him a mile away thanks to his footsteps.

The teleport on doors is very easy to prerun, you will only surprise people who play with no audio or players with less than 10 hours.

His ears, they let people know where you are in semi tall loops,he cant mindgame.

Again his footsteps, it makes it impossible to mindgame with him if the survivor has audio, the same thing that happened to old dredge.

Range killer problem, if you miss many of your shots these projectile range killers ( most of them but all have kinda same problem some more than others like huntress, slinger, artist, unknown, springtrap or even pyramidhead) you wont get preasure and survivors will just do more gens they would normaly do against some other killer who could apply more preasure in hooks and slugs which leads to lost.

Another big fact that prooves I right is that range projectile killers have one of smallest killrates I think even smallest there are like 3 or 4 of them at the bottom with ghostface who is just d-tier weak killer on Nightlight stats and i believe devs stats wotn be far from Nightlights.

A sub par mobility and a mobility that can easily be used against you without counterplay

He isn't "so bad". He's above average. Just practise.

His cooldowns are horrific why does it take 3 business days for him to get his hatchet back

You can camp the living **** out of people.

    His proxycamp is incredibly good.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. Map mobility is the ability to move around the map quickly. Not specifically to get very fast hits in / start the next chase extremely quickly.

Sprintrap has great mobility as he can tp to almost every gen at will, making him strong at defending gens. This means, perks like pop work amazing on him, as it does on any other high mobility killer.

Huntress has really low mobility as shes a 110 killer with no dash or anything else that can give her more speed. That means that she struggles with defending gems that are far from each other. This is a big weakness, for that her design tries to makke up with very high lethality whenever she arrives.

Without counterplay? Can you not enter the room while someone is in there to get an instant grab?

yes but you never know when they are unless you do it by accident (or waste time by waiting in the doors) the without counterplay means the free usage of the doors when your in a chase

Or you track survivor movement through in game hints and predict when they use it or not.

That's how I get head pops with Pig and condemned moris as Sadako.

Sure, it takes a good amount of concentration, but the reward is worth it.

I would honestly even go so far and say, that using the doors as a survivor is more risk than reward.

Oh, and btw, the doors are there at the beginning of the trial and cant be disabled. Just wanted to say that. Demo, you know, has to set them down, does not get an insta down when he comes out and a survivor works on them and can be cleansed.

I'd say Springtraps doors are in a very good spot.
