Twins are extremely underrated
Some time ago, I bought The Twins. I bought them for their perks, mainly, knowing their unpopularity and history.
But, I felt obligated to play at least one match with them.
And surprisingly, they are really fun!
Victor snipes feel great, you can outplay most loops very well, and overall, there are not nearly as buggy as I expected (at least they are very much playable).
I don't get why people don't play them more.

The Twins have a reputation for being really solid and powerful killers despite being so underplayed.
I think a lot of it is just most players being drawn to the base visual designs and relatively uncomplicated powers of other killers. Sorta like the issue with Hag.3 -
This week, a hot new bombshell enters the villa (another player who will use the twins to slug at 5 gens since it's what they do best)

Probably.

They are second (maybe third) most buggyest killer in the game and to me they feel clunky more than krasue, their gameplay just needs slugging and then trying to find that one person you downed 20 seconds ago across the map with victor and this playstyle is gonna burn next big patch so they will get nerfed by antislug probably hardest with oni which is another reason to skip twins.

Twins are a very solid Killer. They're just not very popular because:
- They don't follow the standard gameplay loop, and instead rely on "controversial" strategies like slugging way more than the average Killer.
- They have a reputation for being buggy, even if its no longer strictly true. They probably still have more bugs than the average Killer, but not enough to make them unplayable as a lot of people think.
- Their strength level is very volatile depending on the current meta. The MFT or Buckle Up + FTP metas indirectly nerfed Twins pretty hard when they were around.

The Twins is a really strong killer (at their best top 10/A+ tier alongside Billy or Ghoul). Victor is one of the best killer powers in the entire game since it has good anti-loop and map mobility. The Twins also have the unique counterplay that survivors should stay together which is unusual and difficult to manage in SoloQ. Also, once everyone is injured, a slug is an easy win and there are not many good counter perks in your average match while they often ignore survivor hook-advantages.
However, Twins are well known for being always buggy and survivors can hold Victor hostage for a very long time and not many players are okay with "the survivor have control over your power" and your power has a long cooldown. Many players also don't like to slug and if they want to slug, they might like Billy or Oni more for different reasons. Their addons are also rather simple and uninspired while perk-wise, they have a limited pool and not many perks have a unique synergy with them. Many exposing, Undetectable, aura reading, and Oblivious perks don't work on them well while you don't need chase, kicking, or similar perks since most of the time, you control Victor - to compare it: range killers love aura reading perks, many M1 killers love exposing or chase perks and Undetectable or Oblivious perks are usable on many killers with a few exceptions. Lastly, they never get any good skins and you can be happy if you get one cosmetic piece per year. I also don't wanna be that guy but appearance-wise, people rather like Trickster, Skull Merchant, or Oni. Her appearance also makes it a bit difficult to create cool cosmetics for them - Trickster or Skull Merchant have this typical "nice" body with a modern lore, so nearly everything fits for them.
Overall, unusual gameplay, being known for always bugged, no cosmetics, and limited pool of variety or builds are the reasons why no one plays Twins despite being a strong killer.

Are they really underrated? I thought they admittedly belong to high tiers, only bugs and relatively long cooldown after miss not allowing to climb them to S tier. Their slug potential and map pressure is crazy. I played against them and so many times it’s impossible to outplay in solo without spreading

Probably because players DC so often against Twins because their main strategy is to slug the entire team.

I find them to be really boring.
They trivialize the chases so much and their balance is in how slow they are at securing hooks / 2 tapping people so they need to play in a macro heavy-slugging playstyle which I dont think is fun.
I like opportunistic sluggers more like oni/singu/plague though i only mainly play singularity for unrelated reasons. it's more enjoyable to actually play chase, interact with survivors and outplay them in 1v1s rather than play fully 1v4 that never feels fair unless you're vs a coordinated team at which point your chances of being outperked are getting exponentially higher.

There is no reason to play this killer, it's full of bugs, the gameplay is boring, and to top it all off they included “no fun allowed” invisible walls on all maps to prevent Victor from sniping.

I guess so.
The bug rumors are not relly true at all tho. Aside the odd colision here and there, I saw pretty much just one bug and that was fixed the very next patch.
You are right about the add-ons, tho. There are 6 worth running and nothing else.

It might be that Twins now has less bugs but the reputation for it is there since in the past they had a lot of bugs. Similar story with Skull Merchant that people still dc against her due to "chess game" or people don't play Knight for being buggy and weak even though after his latest buffs, he is a good killer now.

Honestly, for as much as people say that the Twins are unpopular because they rely on slugging so much, I can honestly say in terms of actual matches I've played against the Twins, there really hasn't been that much slugging.
I've had a vastly worse time getting slugged by Animatronics, Nurses, Ghouls and Blights than the Twins.

Just because you don't enjoy them doesn't mean you should come in here and try to claim there's 'no reason to play the twins' to someone who is expressing how much they're enjoying the character. It's rude.

As if constant bugs and hitting invisible walls weren't enough to describe this killer experience as terrible. Give me another negative vote and call me rude if you want, but that won't change the fact that they're the least played killer for obvious reasons.

It's not about strength. Twins have always been a borderline S (if not straight S) tier killer. Most people simply can't handle the 2-in-1 gameplay and their gross appearance.
