Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I wanna say something a little positive.

I know DBD is not in its best state at the moment, like with the rift having less content and other stuff but is it wrong for me to say I’m still genuinely enjoying the game?? Its super frustrating at times but I still have fun.

I'm enjoying the game currently too, but mostly because I just came back from a break.

How can anyone have fun in this game unless theyre one of the worst this community has to offer? Genuine question.

I immensely enjoy the game. For me it is super relaxing after a hard day. Everytime I get a new killer I find myself super excited in a way that I rarely find. For me I don't care if there are bugs, balancing issues or whatever else. I'm just here to live out my horror movie fantasies and have some fun even if it's 0k I'm having fun.

No it's not wrong. The game being in a bad state doesn't necessarily equate to the whole game being unfun, usually just recent developments being disliked.

Same here. It's way more fun when we don't overthink everything.

I myself am loving playing Pyramid Head again after his changes, despite the bad changes to everything else. So I think you're valid, OP.

OH yes, and the thing is, I think even if they don't say it, people do love the game. That's why they complain so much. They want the game to be better. If they truly hated the game, they would just uninstall it and be done.

That said, posts like yours are VERY IMPORTANT to remind us of this.

That applies to ragequits and the like too, imo. The players want to love the game and they still hold out hope, but they end up disappointed far too often.

Am I wrong for absolutely loving to play Myers?
Especially with scratched mirror 😇 as it is one of the funniest things you can do

I don't have any sympathy for someone who is like "eww, it's the ghoul" DISCONNECT

Now, if you have accessibility issues with a killer, like say if Doctor's effects cause seizures or you have emetophobia and can't play against the Plague with her vomit, that's understandable.

You don't have to. But I personally find that DBD is the wrong game to really feel too morally strong about when it comes to players. If we really wanted to encourage good behavior, there's a million ways to do that that aren't being implemented.

    Pretty cynical viewpoint.

I have been playing regularly since 2020 and still have a great deal of fun.

I have only ever played survivor solo. My typical build is lightweight, deja vu, kindred, and bond. I die probably 80% of my survivor matches. Only rarely do I ever get to an iridescent grade and never have I made it to iridescent 1.

I play killer probably 40% of the time. My typical build is lightborn, iron grasp, nowhere to hide, and I'm all ears. I play a wide variety of killers. I try to 8 hook before anyone dies. If all 4 escape, so be it. Sometimes I even start the match planning on letting everyone go, though even then I always go for the 8 hooks.

The game can be fun without the win at all cost attitude and without making other players miserable. Accept that it's not perfect*, accept that the odds may not be in your favor, and play your best even when things go south.

*When I say accept that it's not perfect, I don't mean to imply we shouldn't suggest improvements or shouldn't call out bugs or other issues. You can still enjoy the game while advocating for positive changes.
