Why is this event so killer side?

I haven’t noticed anything especially killer sided about it. Why do you think this?

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted by the usual folks with no explanation for why they disagree 🙄

Because it shouldn’t be a safe haven to take killers on minutes-long wild goose chases between portals like it has been in past events?

That's right, survivors have a big disadvantage in the voi…lol there is like 4 pallets in the void, all in the corners; i mean as survivor, the void is mostly more punishing than it is beneficial.

When you don't go into the Void, it's basically just 1v4 with pumpkins. The one nice thing about the Void I've noticed is that it does tend to distract Killer quite a bit (likely due to the 15 hooks challenge) so you sort of get pseudo-stealth out of it.

Its not so huge full of structures and paletts or solid windows like in last helloween event which is kinda good, if survivor isnt injured and doesnt play against killer with insane catch up like ghoul, blight, dracula or some instadown killer like bubba, billy then the void isnt that unsafe because you can take m1 and run to exit fast enough. The past event void was manace for every killer there were loops which were strong and some spaces that werent easy to get on as killer (exploit location something like rpd statue, there were many like this over the years but this killer could counter only if he knew about it and he guessed survivor will try to do it), the past void was such huge time comsumer not to mention the drop window from fontain with void powers which lead to plank bridge which wasnt straight so killers with dash powers couldnt get hit there and it was guarantee escape if killer didnt knew he can m1 himself with lunge there which was faster than vaulting the window and other bs things it had). Now the void is straight and you shouldnt be there for long time just go there pick the power from fontain and leave not to take chases there (if you have big distance on none mobility killer then you can use it to shake them off but its rare) which is simple and better overall Im just dissapointed there are no events like from 2018 or so with the plants and skins with event chalanges something like blighted skins but for that we have the pass which is quite cheap now compare to castelvania one or others with multiple recolors).

Why not? I didn't realize this was comp mode and not an optional fun seasonal event mode where survivors spend more time kicking pumpkins than doing gens.

If we're looking to balance seasonal mechanics how about we make fog crystals heal instead of that useless cloud since killers get an attack with theirs?

The void is a guaranteed down unless you hit someone immediately next to a portal. It's not just not a safe haven, it's a death trap.

I wasn’t trying to make a point that the current version of the void is super safe. I know it’s not -that’s the whole point. In previous events, it was much stronger and an easy way for survivors to safely hide or waste a ton of killer time to find and chase them through portal loops. The current version helps ensure that it’s not the safe haven for survivors that it was in previous events.

personally i would rather the void be a slow motion type of thing for killer and survivor…same speed differences so killer can still catch survivors like normal but the slow down time difference would mean if the killer is spending time in the void survivors have more time to do gens. or make gens go faster when killer enters the void. it does seem a bit harsh that the void offers little to no reward for survivors and is a death trap for survivors but killer can enter worry free and get a significant gain through the ranged phantom attack. there is really no point in the void for a survivor.

Why not? Because it was super unfun and a huge waste of time for killers chasing survivors through the void in past events. Don’t pretend that all survivor teams treat this as a casual, fun mode.

You forgot to mention that fog crystals auto-repair gens which seems awfully strong to me. I’ve had several times already where playing as survivor I was able to finish off gens by putting a crystal on them and running off to distract killer or save a teammate.

And maybe you might consider not pretending many killers aren't going full, curb stomp, try hard mode at 5 gens during this event.

The auto-repair is balanced with the killer's version speeding up regression. That function already has a counterpart.

Additionally - you know what would be easier and less risky than finding a portal, opening it or just going in, running over to the center, depositing your void energy, picking up your crystal, running back to a portal, running to a gen, and activating the crystal? Just staying on gens in the first place.

Really? They don't last for very many charges at all. Maybe 15? I could see it helping if the gen is nearly done, but I feel like it doesn't make that much of a difference.

I've played about 20 killer matches so far. All were 4ks except one 2k. Poor me. I've gotten five adepts. The void is indeed a deathtrap. It takes too long to get into, so I down people trying to enter. People flee there in desperation only to find unsafe pallets and nonexistent vaults. The crystals are mostly useless. Much like fog vials, people panic pop them and just run straight and get downed, and even if they're clever about it, it doesn't last long enough and I'm on them again immediately. All the trouble they go to for it to go on a gen is useless because I just kick it anyway. It's a slaughter field, like every recent event.

I played one survivor match and got tunneled at 5 gens before i could even glance at a gen or interact with the event aspects.
