Ghoul Nerfs Weren't Enough - He's Still Oppressively Unfun
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy the 'Kidnap Tech' was removed, but that was only a small corner of the Ghoul's oppressiveness.
Ghoul is absolutely miserable to face as a Survivor, and it would be very nice to see him changed.
Practically every other match I play, I get a Ghoul. 90% of those matches, a player gives up and kills themselves, or disconnects. Players are having so little fun playing against this killer that it is affecting my ability to enjoy playing the game.
I've been facing Ghouls since the 9.2.0 patch went live, and I can honestly say, the nerfs this recent patch weren't enough. More needs to be changed to make him feel less, frankly, "BS" to go against.
Leap Cancel Mid-Air Enables Cooldown Skipping:
Ghoul should not be able to cancel his leap while leaping. Currently, he can cancel a leap while mid-air, enabling him to skip the cooldown animation and this doesn't give Survivors with any time to get their footing back after he leaps directly to them.
This results in him being able to instantly catch up, cut off, and instantly hit Survivors between any tiles. It's quite honestly depressingly oppressive to play against. Ghoul should have to complete the leap and be required to go through the cooldown animation.
Auto-Target Needs To Go:
This is plain and simple. Point and click damage from a mile away should never have been a feature in this game. Remove the point and click functionality of this Killer, please.
Leap Slide Was Increased Too Much From Initial PTB:
The Ghoul's slide on Leaping is the main contributing factor to allowing him to position himself in undodgeable hits. I think a little bit of slide may be okay, but being able to guaranteed and effortlessly whip around the other side of any obstacle and instantly get a hit or leap cancel and cutoff is way too oppressive for how tuned it currently is.
These are my thoughts on what contributes to Ghoul's unfun-ness, not necessarily all of these points need to be removed at once but all of them together compound into a genuinely incredibly unfun time. I sincerely hope that the constant community complaints from the last 6 months are addressed soon and stronger nerf considerations are made soon.

As long as he gets a hitscan injury he's not going to feel good to play against. I'm not sure what compensation you could give him though.

I also don't like facing him, but the suggestions you described would make him very weak, because you basically got all the points that make him strong and nerfed it to the ground.

I explicitly said this in the post, but it bears repeating, I am not asking for all of these to be removed (although the hitscan needs to go).
I was rather explaining how these factors all compound into a very bad time and some aspects of him need to be tweaked.

I don’t think ghoul is as strong as nurse, blight, spirit or dracula.

Currently I don't believe the strength of his power to be as oppressive as it seems, especially when compared to the likes of blight, nurse and hillbilly. The part that annoys me about him is the absolute lack of skill required to play him, if he at least had a higher skill floor and even skill ceiling I don't think he would be anywhere near as annoying. Unlike nurses and blights how often do you see a bad ghoul?

You all won't be happy until he is literally unplayable.

I completely agree

He's stronger than Spirit, but that's just because Spirit is a bit overrated these days. VERY VERY good top 10 killer, but she's got several killers who are stronger than her now, and Ghoul is one of them.
But this isn't really about power. Hillbilly shows that a killer who is strong can also be well-liked. Ghoul is just miserable to play against, the design feels awful on the survivor end of things.
I would legitimately rather face a Blight, despite Blight being much stronger, just because Blight feels less BS to play against and I can admire the skill and practice that goes into playing him really well.
I can't with Ghoul. Ghoul matches just feel like a total waste of time. It's not that he can't be beaten, it's just that there will be no enjoyment to be gained from it, and whether or not I can delay him in a chase is completely up to how many chainable pallets I have access to.

yes the free auto target needs to go! that's the only change he needs in my opinion is the free auto target injury.

The problem with "just remove autoaim" is that the devs said that they were considering it and it was extremely difficult to land hits this way.

I frankly don't really care if a Killer like this is difficult. Learning to aim in video games is generally an expected skill.
Especially when the alternative is what we have: The simultaneously one of the strongest Killers ever made while universally agreed upon being way too easy to play for the results they get and universally agreed as being unfun to play against because of this feature.

Sadly he's like Blight, insanely popular. So BHVR won't be nerfing them in meaningful ways. Blight gets to be S tier for his entire existence and Ghoul will always be at minimum A tier.

Make his attack a very quick dodge able attack no hit-scan because hit-scan ignores everything

That's the downside of releasing Killers that are too oppressive at first. Even if you tone them down, the reputation sticks and no one wants to go against them. Case in point, Skull Merchant isn't the worst to play against anymore. But I still dread it purely because of how miserable she was to go against. This is happening to every new Killer, so it's going to be the trend moving forward I assume.

I'm not asking to make him unplayable, I'm asking to make him balanced and not feel bad to go against. Ghoul is still the most DC'ed-against killer even seven months later because he's incredibly unfun. Hardly anybody likes going against him, especially the casual players (who are the largest demographic and do matter, also).
To that point, my complaints are not a remnant of having a lasting reputation like Skull Merchant in this instance. He continues to be genuinely the most miserable experience I've ever had playing this game in the 9 years I've been playing.
Removing the "kidnap tech" did nothing to change how miserable it is for Ghoul to constantly be on top of you because he can cancel mid-leap and start his cancel recovery mid-leap.
Removing "kidnap tech" did nothing to solve how miserable it is to be auto-locked onto and injured through walls from over a kilometer away.
It feels so so incredibly bad to have movement from your character disabled on point and click demand by Ghoul.
New players are joining the game today and quitting over how frustrating Ghoul is to play against with no prior knowledge of how he used to be.
