MMR?
Hello, I was just wondering how MMR works for survivor? I am getting extremely difficult killers to play against and barely ever make it out. Maybe once every 10 matches. I can't last very long in a chase. I've watched so many video and people in the videos seem so much faster than my movement. When I loop I hug tight and use my camera. I use check spots when I can, but the killer is literally never far behind me at all. It feels like they're always right on top of me. I don't like exhaustion perks anymore because I use Iron Will. I get very over stimulated/anxious hearing grunts of pain, Iron Will helps me focus better. I've tried Dead Hard, but killers wait it out or I do it too soon. I love this game but it's really difficult for me. I used to play it really well, but I took a long break and so much has changed. I have played for hours and hours trying to get better but it feels like I'm just being paired with some extremely seasoned killers and I never stand a chance. Plus I'm solo. I have good game sense, but chases not so much. Why am I getting into such difficult lobbies?

From what we know of the system, MMR for Survivors essentially boils down to escapes versus kills. Dying lowers your MMR, and escaping through the gates raises it. Unfortunately the system is very barebones and doesn't do a good job of determining a player's actual skill level.
There are some MMR changes on the horizon though. I believe they're slated to drop this year or next year. Hopefully they change the system to be a bit more accurate and robust.
Iron Will is a decent perk, but given that you're struggling with chases I think an Exhaustion perk would serve you a lot better. Could I ask what Survivors you play? If grunts of pain bother you, there are some Survivors that are naturally quieter like Ace or Ada that might suit you better. You might not need Iron Will on them.
If you can't or don't want to swap out Iron Will though, there's other non-Exhaustion chase perks you could go for. Resilience, Finesse, or Windows of Opportunity might be good options.

there’s really no tell on high your mmr is unless you just start playing against p100 nurses, blights, draculas. It sucks because your teammates feel like they’re players with less than 200 hours into the game.

I
I play Kate, Mikaela, Sable, Thalita, Yun Jin, and sometimes Ada and Lara. My build switches a lot, right now I'm doing Iron Will, Second Wind, OTR and Windows of Opportunity. Iron Will has saved my butt so many times where the killer would have found me if I didn't have it. I think if I were more confident in chases then the grunts of pain might not bother me as much. I'll test with Ada and see though. I do hope MMR can be adjusted because some of these killers are just way too good to play against lol.

I am playing against P100 killers, yes. A LOT of P100 Kaneki, Wesker, Huntress, Billy, Spring Trap and Blight. I see those the most. Sometimes Clown and obviously Krasue since she's so new. I have thousands of hours from when I previously played, but as I mentioned, I was away (for at least a year) so I got really rusty.

I am in the exact same situation as you. I keep getting paired with insanely difficult, P100 killers, and my teammates are typically the ones that either heal and save from hook the whole match or they just run everywhere and don't do anything.
I too love using Iron Will and it has saved my butt multiple times. I will recommend Distraction, an Elodie perk, because it has gotten me out of chases more times than I can count. Gain some distance on a killer, feint a locker, scratch marks disappear, and you're free. Works 8/10 times. Killers typically tend to focus on your scratch marks so if you can't get distance then whip around some corners and feint a locker. Unless the killer sees you feint a locker, they will check it almost every time since that's where your scratch marks end.
