Did you learn Nothing? *Event rant.
Haunted by Daylight, I reviewed the gameplay details & when I came to the mention of the void I immediately bumped into the exact problem we had last year. It's the Halloween event & you've made interacting with the Halloween specific section an absolute no-go for survivors. Even worse so this time around. Did you not learn anything from last time? Why would survivors go into the void, it's entirely Killer sided, again even more so this time. Killers can enjoy the Halloween event. Sure you gave us a gen tool with the fog vial but why would I go in to get one if I'm exhausted, broken, constantly screaming, hindered & can't hear the killer (who also of course knows I'm in there)? Why the hell would I do that!?

I haven't had a chance to play it yet but I'm guessing I'll do what I do every event: play enough to unlock stuff and not a bit more.

The void has been nerfed further for survivors. And apparently I got attacked by a prop or something which gave me hindered too.

Now there are random phantons in the void that makes you 12% hindered for some stupid reason and the layout of the void is worse than last year, and survs are still broken and exhausted in the void, WHAT IS THE POINT OF IT?

The first match I had in this event was fun only because the Huntress was goofing around with us. Second match I quickly found out why it's better to avoid event mechanics as much as possible. I filled up the soul thing in the void, killer downed me before I could pick up the crystal I just paid for, and killer took whatever it is killers get based solely on my efforts and not having to deposit a single bit of void energy themselves. No idea if I even got any bloodpoints for any of that or if it was all just lost.
I'd rather just do gens myself - it's not like i can accidently buff the killer by doing that.

This event is no one sided, there is also no point for the killer to go to the void xdd.

It's so bad for survs that they will not want to play it, so they will go to the normal queue.
It will be like the queues are not split, but even better because some killers will be playing the evt making queue for this role in normal DbD even faster.-9 -
the fact that killers also need 15 hooks in the void too. Like bhvr doesn't think about anything they do.

- I've finished the challenges (I'm mostly referring to "use a void crystal to repair a gen") and I'll never go into the void again, it's just another waste of time. On paper it seems like a super advantageous mechanic, but in reality it's so "long" that you'd be quicker to manually repair the generators.🤣

The "funny" thing is, that by now most event games for me look like this:
- 4 survivors just run around kicking pumpkins, obviously just doing event quests, not tryharding at all. Gens? Nah. Rather clickediclack that fancy Halloween flashlight. And kick pumpkins of course.
- 1 killer sweats his buttocks off in the lobby like it is a freaking tournament.
The fun thing is, that the event games count towards the official DbD stats and probably also the MMR then (?). I do not know if that is a good idea, because some of these survivors staining their shoes with orange right now might play "normal" in normal queue again when the time has come. But well.

After a few frustrating survivor matches I queued up as a friendly Skull Merchant. I don't care if I screw up her stats since I don't really play her anyway and figured I'd try and pay it forward a little bit.

So in short: Another halloween event that is avoidable as survivor. Great.

The event item for survivors doesn't even seem worth it to me. You make way more progress just sitting on gens normally. There's no reason to get it except for doing the quest.

It also blocks the generator for survivors so you can't stack repair. The killer can still kick

I got that out of the way before survivors stop going into the void even in the event. Such an awful challenge, they really haven't thought about any of this.

I like a few others in here have finished the challenges & yeah won't be playing this event until the next lot need doing.

The crystals aren't that interesting. Already got hard tunneled 3 trials in. So it's basically par for the course.

I miss the void well platform which had a vault you could frenzy vault to get to the platform below with the wooden walkway (other Killers had to swing around the vault with a basic attack). I really enjoyed that and now it's gone :(
To be fair, the void well is a lot more accessible to players being on the ground floor. But also more of a risk to visit, especially with certain Killer powers. So not sure this was a good change overall.

Yeah....this event isn't killer sided its survivor sided. Gens fly by in two seconds. Survs spam the billion pallets that you cant mind game. I am a p100 chucky main normal match for me is a 9 hook 2-3k game. I cant even get 2 hooks in the event. The haunts dont work at all survivors can teleport across the map with portals and when you enter the void they immediately know you're there because they can hear your heartbeat. Sounds like survivors are having a skill issue and should go play roblox instead of being sweaty try yards in a fun event

So survivors are having a skill issue yet you say you can't get any hooks? I've played about 30 killer matches so far. All have been 4Ks accept for two 2Ks. I've gotten 8 or 9 adepts in the process. The void is a death trap now and survivors are going in there instead of doing gens. I don't know how any killer can possibly be struggling during this event.

The catch of the void is that you can keep the killer occupied away from gens. Last years setup in there was definitely better than this years though, its just the added haunts that make looping in the void much harder and alot less long. Why it was changed, no one knows, the void well was pretty accessible anyway.

I can almost guarantee BHVR is going to have to nerf the quests a bit, unless it wants people bitching about not being able to complete the 15 hooks in the void or the X number of gens completed by crystal. Both are a stupid slog, the crystal is extremely slow at doing a gen and no one else can work on the gen while it's there. I mean, it's nice that it passively completes progress, but at the same time it isn't fast enough to finish the gen before the match ends.

Who said that you need to complete a gen with a crystal tho?
The quest says "Use a void crystal on a gen 5 times" or something like that. And this was/is rather easy to do. Get a crystal, go to some gen, rightclick to use the crystal. Do this 5 times, quest done.

Had a Ghostie today just doing circles in the void. When I entered he kept hitting the hook. I figured he was trying to get the quest done. I threw him a bone and let him hook me. Even let him put me on death hook during end game. Hope he appreciated it.

I doubt they will. The 15 void hooks thing is annoying because it's not easy to do passively, but it is very possible to finisg by the end of the event. And you only have to attach the crystal, it doesn't have to complete the gen.

I don't think they will. I got the 15 hook in one session. I'm getting at least the equivalent in each other sesson. You just have to follow people in. Its unsafe as all hell in there.
The survivor one kinda sucks because it's a borderline throw to risk going in there for the crystal and people will do it just for the Quest. People are dying on hook in my killler matches because teammates are in the Void. I'm usually a completionist but I don't want to screw up a match for this.

in theory yeah, but i played several games in a row where zero survivors even went into the void. Kind of hard to complete when survivors pretend it doesn’t exist.
