Access violation popping up and my game crashes every match.

This is the error code I get,

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION 0x000002444a83cc90

dxgi_7fffe2ec0000 {0x0000000000000000} + 302034 bytes
dxgi_7fffe2ec0000 {0x0000000000000000} + 344826 bytes
dxgi_7fffe2ec0000 {0x0000000000000000} + 344269 bytes
kernel32 {0x0000000000000000} + 95092 bytes
ntdll {0x0000000000000000} + 314513 bytes

Ive tried many fixes, the one suggested on forums 3 years ago which scanned the files to find and fix the errors, as well as reinstalling, verifying files, updating drivers and such. this problem only occurred when i updated to windows 11, and seeing that it occurred, i went back to 10 and its broken still. I can play other unreal engine games like fortnite with zero errors at 120 fps, but on dbd, my frames suddenly drop to 30 and then crashes. I have tried running dbd as admin but still no luck. My frames on dbd have also dropped down to a consistent 50 instead of my usual 120 and it never reaches back up there. i dont know what to do and this has only occurred since updating to windows 11 which i then reverted and its still broken.

any help would be so appreciated as i just cant seem to find fixes online as ive tried most of them.

As luck would have it I may have actually found a work around that fingers crossed isn't temporary but appears to be letting me play!
This so far seems to have worked for me:

    1. Right-click Dead by Daylight from your Steam menu → Properties…→ Installed Files → Dead by Daylight → DeadByDaylight → Binaries → Win64

    2. Delete ALL the files inside of folder Win64

    3. Right-click Dead by Daylight from your Steam menu (again) → Properties… → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files

    4. Wait for the game to finish reinstalling those files

    5. On your computer type 'dxdiag' into the Start menu

    6. Find which DirectX version you have under 'DirectX Version: DirectX <11> or <12>' ← it's at the bottom of the list

    7. Right-click Dead by Daylight from your Steam menu (again again) → Properties → in launch options add either '-dx11' or '-dx12' based on what you've seen in your dxdiag

    8. Boot the game, load into a custom match w/ 4 bots (so you avoid a DC penalty, I was on a 6 hour penalty - that's how much I crashed lol) and hopefully you're no longer crashing

Hope this works for you too soup. Early days and still scared I'll get slapped with another 'you crashed' but from crashing mid-match every match to being able to play two full games in a row online again I'm optimistic. All the best!

I've been getting the exact same thing! I believe it's a game issue and not a computer issue. I've tried every step in the book both in terms of support by Behaviour and forums online. I've:

    Undervolted my GPU (didn't work).
Rolled back and updated to most modern drivers (using DDU in safe mode every time) - even tried it on a different graphics card lent to me by a friend (still crashed, so not a GPU issue).
Updated to newest Windows 11 feature.
Set it to DX11, DX12, etc. No luck.
    Completely reinstalled the game.
    Completely reinstalled Windows.
    Reinstalled x86 and x64.
    Cleared Shader cache multiple times.
    Ran sfc in cmd.
Edited registry to add a TdrDelay of 10.

I believe it's an issue on their front my friend. My computer's in tip top shape and every other game I own runs buttery smooth. Dead by Daylight is held together with bubble-gum and sticky-tape and it has never been more clear. Copy of my crash, almost identical to yours:

    Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION 0x000001be1c4d4c10

    dxgi_7ffb79500000 {0x0000000000000000} + 244125 bytes
    dxgi_7ffb79500000 {0x0000000000000000} + 243320 bytes
    dxgi_7ffb79500000 {0x0000000000000000} + 242765 bytes
    kernel32 {0x0000000000000000} + 190679 bytes
    ntdll {0x0000000000000000} + 574780 bytes

i believe your fix has done it! im on my second custom game right now and i havent crashed. im still terrified when my frames drop for a second though xd. thank you so much man. i guess the issue was our shaders perhaps, and i do use reshade and have been for many years. i dont know what caused this now but thank you so much for the fix, im grateful. i wont reinstall reshade till the next update drops because i dont want a repeat of this :c. did you have reshade? was that possibly the cause for you too?

again, i am so grateful for your perseverance because i pretty much gave up and just reinstalled other games to play in the mean time xd. thank you man, so so grateful. ill update if any other crashes occur <3
