New Stats for the World via Japan
So BHVR did a stat release, but they did it on the Japanese forum/twitter. Here is the info for those interested.
I saw this post from @まうっす and went looking for the source. Once upon a time I could get by in Japanese, those days are long past, but I decided to do my best with translation services and post the results. If anyone spots any errors let me know, or if BHVR would like to make an official post in English that would be great.
They say that for games counted they exclude ones that are 'low score' or 'low stakes' depending on the translation. This might be a translation issue for disconnect, or maybe an alternative way they separate out certain games.
First was Killer Pick Rates - Top 10 (past year) - I've bold/italicized the ones that are not shared by the other (left side is Japan, right side is world which is going to be true for all of the images)
Japan
1: Wraith - 7%
2: Huntress - 6%
3: Legion - 5%
4: Nurse - 5%
5: Ghoul - 5%
6: Myers -4%
7: Blight - 4%
8: Doctor - 4%
9: Spirit - 3%
10: Trapper - 3%
World
1: Huntress - 6%
2: Springtrap - 4%
3: Legion - 4%
4: Ghoul - 4%
5: Wesker - 4%
6: Myers -4%
7: Wraith - 4%
8: Ghostface - 4%
9: Blight - 3%
10: Nurse - 3%
-
They also include a note to explain that the numbers might look really low but its an effect of how many killers there are.
I find the Springtrap and Wesker differences particularly interesting. Also that the world only has one killer at 5% or higher, and Japan has 5.
-
Next was the survivor pick rate. I don't think its going to surprise anyone who takes the top spots
Continuing from here in order
Japan: Kate, Ada, Dwight, Michaela, Jill
World: Claudette, Lara, Dwight, Michaela, Ada
-
They then have most popular cosmetics, but that's hard to translate as I'm not a cosmetics expert and the names might be different (and there is no associated image) - edit: for those interested @ranbuta did a post below with the associated image.
-
Next onto most lethal killers. For this BHVR didn't include any numbers, just a list. This is one month of data from mid August to mid September.
Number five with no image on Japan is Pinhead (Cenobite).
The next ten
Japan
6th: Oni
7th: Blight
8th: Ghoul
9th: Pig
10th: Dredge
World
6th: Twins
7th: Blight
8th: Ghoul
9th: Skull Merchant
10th: Oni
Only two overall differences - Pinhead being number 5 on Japanese top 10 and Skill Merchant still being in the world top 10 and not on the Japanese list.
-
Next we have killer and survivor perks, starting with killer perks.
Six through ten - edit: Thanks to @ranbuta for the translation assistance on identifying some of the perks.
Japan
6th: Deadlock
7th: Corrupt Intervention
8th: Lethal Pursuer
9th: Hex: No One Escapes Death
10th: Brutal Strength
World
6th: Bamboozle
7th: BBQ & Chili
8th: Deadlock
9th: Corrupt Intervention
10th: Hex: No One Escapes Death
-
On to survivors, where we of course have the Self Care difference of opinion.
Japan
6th: Sprint Burst
7th: Déjà Vu
8th: Decisive Strike
9th: Bond
10th: Botany Knowledge
World
6th: Dead Hard
7th: Sprint Burst
8th: Decisive Strike
9th: Bond
10th: Adrenaline
-
Outside the Self-Care / Finesse, not too much is that different. Dead Hard more highly rated on the Japan side, and different perks at number 10 but without actual numbers no way to tell how different they actually are.
-
Next we have percent of people playing in groups (which I believe its been a long time since they published) and their escape rates.
@TicTac and @random1543 beat me on doing translations of these, credit to them for the following.
Below you are going to see four columns and four rows.
The columns are group size. So the far left column is people playing solo, then two, then three, then a full group of four.
The rows
The top row is percent of players playing this way in Japan, the second row is their escape rate
The third row is percent of players playing this way in the world, the final row is their escape rate.
-
Next we get some stats on kill rates in comparison to generator repair. I'm going to post a google translate image for this one (I've resisted doing that for the others because I wanted to preserve the original images, but the following made no sense to me without the translation).
Part of the above that might be a translation issue - I think the average kill rate here is of the 40 killers, not just the games played. So even though Huntress might get a lot more play than Houndmaster, its treating them both as equals for this chart (but like I said, that's a guess off the translation.).
-
I don't think I missed any other tidbits in the post, but if I did let me know and I'll update. Hopefully people find this as interesting as I did.

Thanks for sharing! I'm just gonna say that i love seeing Pig in the top 5 deadliest killers because I play her quite alot and have plenty of success despite people constantly calling her weak. Yes, her kit isn’t as overloaded in comparison to alot more recent killers, but she holds her own.

I am Japanese. Thank you for your interest. If you have any other translation assistance needs or questions about the Japanese play environment, I can answer them. (However, I'm not very good at English, so I'm using DeepL translation.)
The Killer usage rates for parks ranked 6th or lower are as follows:Japan
6. Deadlock
7. Corrupt Intervention
8. Lethal Pursuer
9. NOED
10. Brutal StrengthWorldwide
6. Bamboozle
7. Barbecue & Chilli
8. deadlock
9. Corrupt Intervention
10. NOEDMatches with low MMR have been excluded from these statistics. The same applies to escape rates and killer usage rates.

Thank you, very much appreciated.

This statistical analysis revealed the most popular full-body outfits among the top 10 most-used killers.
However, these exclude standard outfits, Prestige rewards, and combinations of different outfit types. While there is little difference, the most popular skins for Kate and Meg differ between Japan and the rest of the world.

Surely Skull Merchant being so high on the lethality list shows just how much the go next mentality actually affects kill rate stats?
Crazy to see Legion popularity despite being considered one of the weaker killers.
I wonder why the difference in overall in kill rate despite the percentage of games where the last gen is completed being almost the same? Maybe there are more games thrown at the end due to altruism?

This content has been removed.

Re Skull Merchant, this came up last time we got stats and the devs confirmed they could differentiate the kills that happened because someone let go on hook
1 -
I think it might be that only really good killer players are playing Skull Merchant. Kind of like a challenge mode.
3 -
Probably. Iirc she has a crazy low pickrate so it must be a dedicated few keeping her alive
2 -
She is doom for newer to average players because of her traps and complicated kit for understanding to some people, another fact is she isnt common and mostly played by her mains which are always more experienced and skilled with their killer so it makes sence and from history of the game if I remember correctly she had always high kill rates, then cenobite, vecna, sadako and dreadge make sence because their powers are complicated for many survivors, some of them are again played by dedicated mains and killer like vecna has four weaker powers which some survivors know only few of them. The lowest kill rates have ranged killers I believe with weaker m1 killers like ghostface.

That are some hardcore players or most of them are her mains and she is rare plus the fact some survivors still dc or give up against f-tier killer because they refuse to plsy against her.
Mains are keepers look at freddy he from his release had always high kill rates even when he was at his lowest (before second rework) he was in top 5 highest kill rates on high mmr which shows what can dedicated mains do, then we have nurse and she is top tier on high mmr and on average mmr she would need buffs because her kill rate is low so these stats are just info and cant be used for balance like devs did before (because you would need to buff nurse and nerf freddy and skullmerchant if you would want balance killers from their kill rates).

Letting go on hook isn’t a thing anymore but people still just run at the killer or stand under hook not actually playing quite frequently.

Honestly? I don't believe them. They probably can differentiate between someone "letting go on the hook" but what about people who just give up and run straight into the killer? Or who just stand there and do nothing? I doubt it.
