What are your opinions on Myers?
Do you like his current power more, or was the old one better?
Is he too weak? Is he too strong? Is he interactive?
Do you like his new add-ons?
Does he need buffs? Nerfs? Changes?
What do you think?
My personal opinion is that he is not higher than a B tier killer, and some buffs should definitely happen, especially in areas which were nerfed from his original form.
His new add-ons are pretty eh for the most part. There are 2-3 that should have been basekit, some absolutely awful ones (looking at you, Jewelry Box), some that are neat, and some really good ones (Hairbrush, Tombstone Piece, Blond Hair)
If I could do anything about his design, I would give him a few buffs, and further expand his old power by designating more than just one add-on to it, which could give us a neat dual power situation.

Pros;
- Unlimited stalk on survivors. Should have been done years ago.
- Being able to switch between stalker and pursuer mode.
- Pursuer mode having extra advantages like base kit brutal/enduring/longer lunge etc.
- Being able to mori/tombstone death hook survivors.
- The stalking stinger returning is great.
Cons;
- Slaughtering strike feels clunky.
- 40m terror radius is unnecessary.
- Reduced stalk range. Go back to 40m stalk range and have it lore accurate again. The further away he is from survivors the faster he stalks them.
- Make evil incarnate 60 seconds.
- Get rid of that start up animation for evil incarnate.
- Get rid of the six second cool down on slaughtering strike.
- Give him his 4.4m/s stalker mode.
- Remove the decay on stalk meter if he hasn't stalked anyone for 20 seconds.
14 -
Yeah he got more no needed nerfs.

I liked old Myers. His power was easy to understand and use, it was thematic. It wasn't necessarily strong, but it was fun to play as him.
BHVR designs dashes and speed powers to have controls that often feel like you're fighting them to get the desired outcome rather than enjoying using them. At least, that's how it feels trying to steer them on controller/console. And dash/speed powers do not work well with input lag and low framerates/frame drops/stuttering. I used to regularly play Myers, but I won't play him anymore after this rework. His original design made him one of the few killers that were really comfy to play on console. BHVR taking that away is so backwards. It's not like every killer can be good on console, I'm not asking for that, but most are already designed around PC players, so taking one off the console-friendly list and moving it to the PC list sucks. Plus, I really enjoyed playing Myers. I'm just very disappointed in the whole thing.
13 -
I get that. Personally I swore to never play Blight again after a few matches just because of how clunky, rigid and fickle his power is. IDC that he is strong, he feels like ass to play.
2 -
I am not a fan of his rework at all.
You think it sucks getting teabagged at the exit gates? Watch what happens when you miss a slaughtering strike attack. Trust me, this somehow feels much worse.
Myers is my secondary Killer but the power is just.. not Myers quite frankly. It's also easy to miss hitting Survivors just like Chucky if you're on controller like me.
I was planning on getting him to P100 but I'm definitely pausing that plan until/if something is done to revert or rework him.
9 -
I am unironically was an enjoyer of playing against tombstone Myers
Now it’s gone and that’s a lil sad :(
2 -
Absolutely. I tried playing Blight for a good while. His map mobility is wonderful. The problem was, I could only use his power for map mobility. Hitting survivors in chase with his power wasn't really viable, but the whole fun of killer is using their power to get hits/downs. It's not fun to run fast across the map but be an M1 killer with no power in chase.
Most/all mobility killers are balanced around powers that control like ass. I guess for many people strength is the fun part. For me, I don't enjoy fighting the controls, I don't enjoy clunky gameplay. In fighting games, I go for the fast fighters, not the slower powerhouses. I use daggers and regular swords in soulslikes, not the great swords and hammers that take fifty years to wind up. Personal preference. Smooth gameplay is what feels good to me. In DbD, I main Nemmie because his strafe lets me get value out of his tentacle whip. That's kind of sad, choosing my main killer almost entirely based on his power allowing to correct for console issues (survivors react faster to me than I can react to them, aiming for the middle of a giant TV screen with no reticle is awkward, that sort of thing).
3 -
I think he sucks.
9 -
i got myers to p100 a couple years ago, spent hundreds of hours playing him and maining him. since rework i have played myers maybe 10 matches? i have no intention playing him again any time soon, there are far stronger and more fun killers to play as.
Rework myers is awful to play as and easy to play against. slaughter strike is easily nullified by timing a pallet drop to stun myers. and with the extra pallets they added the pallet break from slaughter strike means nothing because i can just run to another pallet before he catches me. my escape rate v myers is literally 100% at the moment, i have never been killed by rework myers and most of my matches has been 3man escapes
3 -
Removing tombstone for cheap insta-kills and simply buffing his old kit would have been far better and far less work. This full rework was simply a waste of resources.
5 -
Yeah, kind of.
The new stance-swaps are great. The dash? Not so much.
4 -
There are things i like about the rework.
- Can activate the tier 3 with a button instead of accidentally filling it up too much
- The stalking theme was added in
but he has lost his immersion that the old myers had, i just wished they just gigabuffed his tier 1 and 3 and left it at that. For some reason they nerfed his stalking range didnt make stalker mode 4.4 and made that a addon instead. Trying to stealth walk acrosa the map in stalker mode agonizing as walking across the map in stalker mode makes it feel like your on the Oregon Trail making you go into pursuer mode which makes you lose stalk after awhile for some reason. Idk some of its good some of its bad.
1 -
he feels crap to play in my honest opinion
clunkier than twins
6 -
ohmigod, you too?? I thought I was the only one. I enjoyed trying to figure out what add-ons Myers was running. I enjoyed going against Tombstone and it was a challenge I gave myself to avoid getting Tombstoned without ever using a locker (and if I enjoyed the match I'd give myself up at the end for the Tombstone). Myers was one of my favorite killers to go against, and Tombstone was absolutely part of that.
I miss Myers. I've seen him once since the rework, and that one was just kind of hanging out on the map and not playing. It's awful to think I won't play against the Myers I've known and loved anymore.
5 -
He definitely has Artist Syndrome now, on top of getting a ton of unnecessary nerfs.
Honestly, you get better results by equipping Brutal Strength or Enduring, and using only Pursuer mode and maybe Stalker to sneak up on people.
4 -
Tombstone was more like a challenge how quick you can genrush killer before lose of first teammate. And yeah, looping a killer with the thought 1 mistake and you don’t stand a chance even is a lil fun
2 -
bad rework, he feels weaker somehow and it doesn't fit the myers identity at all.
tbh his first version didnt either to be honest, stalking sure but no surprise part of his power besides a small terror radius wheres his stealthy appear out of nowhere power at??
3 -
Remove slaughtering strike, bring old exposed status, remove animation for Evil incarnate activation
1 -
He needs some buffs. Every buff he got came with 2 nerfs which made him weaker in the end. He just feels clunky. Here is what I would do:
Stalker Mode:
- Increase base movement speed to 4.4 m/s.
- Increase stalk range to 40 metres.
Pursuer Mode:
- Reduce Terror Radius to 16 metres.
- Keep the vault bonus at 20 %, reduce the other bonuses to 15 %.
Evil Incarnate:
- Remove the animation and slowdown when activating.
- Make Survivors exposed, remove Slaughtering Strike.
- Increase the time to 60 seconds.
- Increase the vault speed to 30 %, add the other bonuses from Pursuer Mode and make them 25 %.
General Things:
- Remove the Stalk meter drain when not stalking for 20 seconds.
- Remove the sound queue that plays when his stalk meter if full from Survivors perspective.
- Once the stalk meter is full, you can still switch between Pursuer Mode and Stalker Mode with the Ability button (CTRL) and the Power button (M2) activates Evil Incarnate instead.
Also, revert the Monitor and Abuse Nerf.
4 -
I would kinda like his current system, but he definetly needs buffs.
- stalk range feels bad imo
- I don't like you are so slow in T1 again
- T2 seems kinda irrelevant
- T3 is very slow, which means pallet break is weak when survivors can just stun you
I think his current form is rather weak and his power doesn't really justify all the information it gives to survivors.
It also seems like we have Oni situation again and Slaughtering Strike has way higher control on M&K. I can easily 180 at any point of the animation.
3 -
Not good but I hope this is just a start and that they will tweak things up and buff Myers he deserves it. Freddy got a decent buff and so should Myersm then continue with Trapper and Ghostface. Thanks!
-1 -
All of this is nice, but I would add that you are not stuck in pursuer mode when fully charged and can still switch.
2 -
Literally every single myers I have played against either lost to a 3 or 4 man out, or DC'd so they did not have to bear the shame… Myers is gutted, like they did Chucky… He is somehow even worse than he was before, and that was hard to do :D
1 -
I get why.
If you are familiar with Artist Syndrome, new Myers is a textbook example, except the power is not even that powerful.
So you have a power that announces itself a lot, is pretty technical, and the result is that Pursuer Mode is better than Evil Incarnate Mode most of the time.
2 -
I agree with multiple other people here that the rework, quite frankly, sucks. It's clunky, un-thematic, and came at the cost of effectively removing a beloved killer from the game.
3 -
I think the rework is good because old Myers was either always weak or unhealthy (insta kill).
However, unlike new Freddy, Myers still suffers from a lot of meta and gameplay problems:
- You can react to his strike attack similar to Blight's rush which means you can dead hard it so easily
- He struggles against every exhaustion and chase perk like Lithe, SB, Finesse
- He can no longer make use of M1 perks like Surge or Coup de Gras since his strike is a special attack
- He has built in undetectable but you hear his loud breathing sounds from far away, you move at 4.2
- You have no map mobility (Ormond, Badham, Sanctrum of Wraith will hurt) or close the gap between you and a survivor (exhaustion perks and prerunning hurt). I also don't understand why he has a 40meter TR when he has no map mobility - this makes prerunning much more easier. I get why Blight, Ghoul, or Billy have one but Myers? It also makes no sense that Myers has a 40meter TR but Oni during his power mode not.
- You need time to setup.
- I also give him the extra point that his footsteps sound like survivor ones and linger behind him, which feels like there is always a survivor behind me - super annoying when a survivor dies under a pallet.
- Lastly, he feels a little bit clunky and could be a bit more smoother
Of course, he got some buffs like shredding through pallets with the strike or faster vault but that doesn't really help him that much. Shredding through pallets is nice but you need downs at the end of the day while the slightly vaulting speed is often not good enough to keep up with strong loops. Also the insta kill on two hooked survivor is strong but he has to get to it. It is also a matter of time until survivor are aware of it and either start to predrop their whole life infront of him or jump in a locker to give the team more time.
Overall, he kinda reminds me of a much weaker version of Billy due to all the drawbacks and I cannot see him in B tier, maybe low B-, which is better than before but compared to other reworks/updates (Freddy, Singularity) rather underwhelming. However, I think the developers wanted to keep Myers simple and a simple killer should never be strong - otherwise it will be a Ghoul 2.0.
4 -
Kinda the root of his power problem he gives survivors more warnings and info about him than oni does but his power is 5 times worse than onis blood furry.
2 -
So... almost a month has passed and....
I've tried to use his power, I really did...
But it genuinely is more rewarding to stay in Pursuer Mode, than wasting your time stalking and going through all the hoops Tier 3 gives you.
2 -
I definitely liked old Myers better. I miss the old tiering system. But I will say that the new Myers, while it takes some getting used to, isn't too terrible imo. I wish they would combine them better tbh.
1 -
The only thing I wanted, was for his 5 super obnoxious addons (both mirror addons, both tombstone addons, and his infinite tier 3 addon) to be removed from the game.
I really don’t like the idea of stealth killers giving a lot of super obvious warnings to the survivors, which is the same reason why I think Springtrap’s loud footsteps make him a complete failure of a game design. Yes, it was annoying when Myers would 99% stalk with a 4 meter terror radius (monitor perk and rabbit addon), then sneak up on someone and instant one-shot them, but he is a stealth character and it’s sort of what his strength is supposed to be.
And nerfing the monitor perk because of the Myers rework was completely unnecessary and should be reverted. The whole point of the monitor perk was to use it on killers that have a smaller terror radius, because anyone with a larger terror radius is better off using an undetectable perk instead.
And the Myers M2 dash is so bad that he’s really better off always using the addon that gets rid of it.
1 -
Basicaly they treat him like oni but he isnt oni, the 40 meters terror radius, limited turn rate while using strike, many sound cue warnings and big slowdowns when charging his power they even removed his 99 stalk to fast instadown same thing what ghostface has had old mayers but I would be ok with it if his strike would be very deadly which isnt the case quite the opposite (for me even pig dash gives you now more hits than mayers strike, strike is only good at camping which he was good before even more with 60 seconds up to 100 seconds evil within 3) so overall he is better because of pursuer mode in now more better m1 mode and because you can just switch between tier 1 and 2 modes (stalker mode and pursuer mode) and arent forced to level up from tier 1 to 2 and then build tier 3 which was kinda bad and main reason why he sucked, another thing why he is weaekr with his best loadout is because tombstone was just addon that kept him above water and could make 2v1 in solid time so 2k or 3k wasnt wet dream as with basekit mayers without strong addons.
-1 -
Being able to switch between stalker mode and pursuer mode isn’t much of a buff, because his old T2 had a 4 meter terror radius when monitor + rabbit was used, and that’s a small enough terror radius to sneak up on people.
And I would much rather be able to 99% stalk survivors with a 4 meter terror radius, than have the garbage that current Myers has.
1 -
I've never played as Myers (prior to the rework I did intend on giving him a try, but not anymore), but he was my favourite killer to go against as a survivor. Pretty sure I died most of the time against him, but he was still my favourite. Because unlike a lot of the killers, going against even a half decent Myers was goddamn scary. Like he was probably the only killer that when I spotted him approaching while I was on a generator, I was legitimately panicked/scared rather than just annoyed that I'd been interrupted from doing my generator.
I also really liked the potential threat of tombstone—because until suddenly, out of nowhere, one of your teammates got mori'd, you really didn't know whether or not you were getting tombstoned and that uncertainty was part of the scariness/fun.
So thematically, he was honestly the best. I loved going against him even if I did end up getting tombstoned.
Post rework he feels meh. The lunge attack is weird and lands hits it really shouldn't, all the additional sound effects kind of ruin the atmosphere, I hate that survivors don't get an 'exposed' status icon with his powers anymore, and quite frankly the in built tombstone kind of just…took all the scariness out of being mori'd by Myers.
Like I said, I can't speak from the perspective of a Myers main or anything (though based on comments here, people seem to have their problems on that front), but before the rework, Myers stood out. Going against him in a match was a unique experience, even compared to other stealth killers.
Now he feels generic. Boring. I don't hate going against him or anything, I'm just indifferent. It's not scary, it's not exciting, it's just kind of meh.
2 -
Its small buff because you dont have to go from tier 1 to 2 but as I said its very small buff, old small tr tier 2 was something else. Now Im kinda convinced they are nerfing stealth aspect of many killers now mayers, springtrap sounds like mecha dogzila coming for you, monitor nerf for just 24 meter terror radius killers etc.
0 -
The buffs he's getting this month better be good. They need to get rid of all the cool downs and give him his distance stalking buff back.
0 -
He feels very clunky, and I don't think they really thought the rework through. He really just needed to lose the ability to instantly kill healthy survivors. Aside from this one addon he wasn't really overtuned or busted, just had a really annoying and unfair build on occasion. The full rework makes very little sense to me as it doesn't fix any of the issues that players had with him already.
0 -
I am glad they finally made him run very fast just like in the movies.
2 -
As someone who plays a lot of Scratched Mirror, I do like that he can actually lunge, and move faster now.
Makes him quite a bit scarier2 -
Not only that, it creates MORE issues.
0 -
Yeah, as far as Scratched Mirror goes, we won pretty much, except for the odd rarity increase.
0 -
Not a fan of the slaughtering strike, though I guess it can work in a way even if it doesn't suit him. But he feels underwhelming, they took away several things that the old version had that the new one doesn't. I don't think he's very fun, and he certainly feels less like Myers, even if he may statistically be slightly stronger
- Instakilling off hook isn't possible anymore since there's a 5 or so second timer on death hook survivors where you can't grab and mori them. In fact the whole mori can be completely avoided by just jumping into a locker after you get unhooked as long as you have DS, which defeats its purpose of letting him bypass DS and stuff.
- Stalker mode is 105% while Tier 1 used to be 110% after the 8.4.0 buff, not sure why they nerfed that, even with the lunge range increase I feel he deserves 110% Stalker mode movespeed, 105% feels awful
- You can lose stalk progress, so approaching with Stalker mode and then activating Evil Incarnate isn't that viable, plus it has a transition time which makes ambushes even less effective. It can be played around but it feels punishing for no reason
- You don't keep any of the bonuses from Pursuer mode in Evil Incarnate mode aside from vault speed, but the Evil Incarnate vault speed is still slower than Tier 3 used to be. Why do you not keep the other bonuses? Powering up with your next "Tier" is integral to the feel of the character but other than slaughtering strike, Pursuer vs Evil Incarnate don't feel like a true powerup
- The slaughtering strike has a 6 second cooldown which means even if you try zoning someone and breaking a pallet with your power, survivors can often still get to another pallet before you can instadown them, especially with the pallet density update
- Evil Incarnate is only 40 seconds which feels terrible
I'm sure they'll buff some of these things but come on, what's with all the caveats and cooldowns and restrictions? It ruins the feel of the character.
2 -
He is perfect now. Hats off to BHVR for getting myers perfect. With right perks hes very strong.
-3 -
It really does ruin him a lot.
1 -
Good for you.
Sadly, I am unable to find this perfect Myers and the only perks that help him are either the usual meta gen regression ones, or the stat buff perks like Bamboozle, Coup, Enduring and Fire Up, so you get super fast at everything while in Pursuer Mode.
0 -
Thats what i use on him: fire up and coup. Hes a monster then. lol
1 -
Yeah, that one I am not very happy about.
I usually get 3-4 per 1 million BP spent, down from 6-8 on average before, since you could often get multiple per bloodweb, which is not the case with the iri version.1 -
Please revert Myers
He is not fun to play as
-2 -
So, an update with a Myers BUFF is here!
And it covers some of the bases very nicely.
This helps with several awful parts of his power, like how it's so short and easily pre-runable, and you don't lose out on the Pursuer bonuses anymore…
3 -
I really don't get why they are so attached to adding a cooldown to his slaughtering strike. The ability is already on a time limit and you have to charge it now.
Like these buffs make Myers better at the end of the day, but the attachment to Slaughtering Strike will always make him less appealing. This is just Billy's overheat mechanic all over again.
2 -
Why are they adding Camera Sensitivity to the dash if they then immediately note it's going to be removed later??
Aside from that, solid. Let's him keep the Swap Stance of the Rework whilst reverting all the awful nerfs they made to his attributes. With the addon that removes Slaughtering Strike he should be buffed Old Myers in concept.
We'll have to see how this plays and what adjustments should be made afterwards, but this does look promising.
