To BHVR and Killers: On Completing Quests

I noticed many people frustrated with quests and so I wanted to share how I'm doing them from now on as I am now back to working full time and simply don't have time for most of the ridiculous ones, especially hooking people in the void.

I play on PlayStation and as Killer, I decided to message the first PSN Survivor i see and tell them "I'm just trying to do the challenge, can I hook you twice in the void?"

I only had to do this twice! Both teams were 4man SWFS, so the person I messaged let them know and I was done in two matches. I even made a new friend!

I want to play the game without fearing I won't unlock stuff in time.

My message to BHVR, with respect, is to please respect our time as players.

We love the game, but it has to stop feeling like a chore.

I have a life, work, and would like to not have this FOMO hanging over my head all the time.

I also firmly believe some challenges lead to more tunneling than we realize.

It's not my playstyle unless I have to kill people before a rift or event ends.

I hope this gives some of you an idea to complete your challenges and BHVR some Food for thought.

I was surprised how lucky I got so quickly with finding two squads (one a legit bully squad) who were so nice and and let me do this. I made a new PSN friend.

Shout out to you Survivors that helped me, and I'm glad I made a new friend along the way.

Honestly, that particular quest can be done 3 ways...

    1. What you did.
    2. Throw games until you get to a low enough MMR and then throw further once people start using the void by going after them every time.
    3. Play a lot and hope for the best.

Honestly surprised you even found two PS users who don't have their messaging restricted. 90% of what I try to send gets cut off by messaging locks.

I got the hook one done in one session but the survivor ones were terrible. Killers were downing me at the well. Like please just let survivors craft it first, then down them. I died four matches in a row with little to show for it before a tunneling Dracula turned friendly. But it seriously sucked until then. You shouldn't have to feel the need to farm to get this stuff accomplished, or to lose a bunch of matches in the process just for the Quests.

I don't think option 2 would work. Before he moved on from the forums, the Dev named Peanits said MMR is used in finding matches in events, however the results of a match in an event queue do not change your MMR.

But that was a while ago so maybe something has changed.

Yeah, most are locked, mine included. But I've made some friends in SoloQ through them too.

You still message people on Playstation @CountOfTheFog?? How are you not banned already? Sony will literally ban you for the dumbest stuff, their moderation team never looks at context and their report system is easily abusable by trolls

I just message people "ggs" or "thanks for hatch", "thanks for saving me in end game."

I wasn't aware psn would be upset. I've only been a PlayStation player for a year. I was on Switch before.

Honestly this is more of an issue with the void mechanic itself. Survivors are reluctant to enter the void cause its dangerous and they would rather be doing generators, but killers are also reluctant to do it cause its potentially just a complete waste of time you could be spending on pressure. Like not even competitively just like, instinctually in people.

If you're saying friendly stuff it's fine but never, ever say anything even remotely hostile.

I've found as long as you don't swear or say any trigger words then you're pretty good and don't have to worry. Especially with dbd, I never say kill or killer or anything like that. I've been reported a couple times but never had anything happen.

I agree they should check context more but that's what's worked for me so far. The fact any kind of swearing can be reported drives me nuts though. There was actually a guy that kept messaging me, trying to get me to say any kind of swear just so he could report me.

On topic, they have changed the void hooks to 4 and lowered the overall amount need for the 4th reward which is nice.
