Recently, we released a quality-of-life update that adjusted how pallets were laid out across certain Realms. We'd love to dig into the specifics of what you like and don't like to help inform future adjustments.

In this thread, let's focus on the Haddonfield Realm. How do you feel about the quantity of pallets here? Are there specific areas you feel have too many or not enough pallets? Share your feedback here - the more specific and detailed you can be, the better! Bonus points if you can share screenshots!

And as for this poll, overall, how do you feel about the current state of pallets in the Haddonfield Realm?

One of the only maps that should have gotten the pallet density update

Literally one of the only maps this was justified on.

This is a realm that deserved and benefited from a pallet density update. Most window loops are not very safe and therefore non-renewable in a chase. Similarly to The Game, when pallets run out this leads to short chases as window vaults are too few and far between to reliably reach when caught. The amount of pallets feels fair due to how small the map is and how quickly in succession they are dropped.

You can't have that many pallets spawn in the middle of the street. They're strong pallets that cannot be mindgamed. Additional pallets between the houses and to the sides of main are perfectly reasonable but 5-7 pallets in the middle of the road is not reasonable. All it does is encourage the killer low-mobility killers to lock down a small section of the map, while high-mobility killers get to largely ignore it because they can make it to a person working on a house gen before they get anywhere near there.

One of the few maps that needed this change, but we don't need anything else as it WILL go overboard in one way or the other

Good changes for Haddonfield, the increased amount of pallets feels fair given the small size of the map and relatively low strength of most of the buildings on the map.

As a Survivor player predominantly I've always dreaded Haddon field, but the pallet density update really fleshed out the center of the map and feels alot more fluent for both sides to engage with, rather than 40% of the map it felt like being an empty space! Plus as a Dredge player, more pallet tiles meant more lockers around the map which is always welcome!

Was needed on this map specifically, the rest, not so much

Haddonfield's main problem is how ridiculouly small and barren it is.

This map is still a design nightmare. As a killer, it’s still really annoying to patrol the map, and annoying to find survivors that are hiding in the buildings.

But the survivors don’t value the fact that the buildings are really annoying for killers, and will just complain that the outside doesn’t have enough pallets.

If the map is supposed to have a bunch of pallets everywhere, then the buildings should be nerfed even more, so it isn’t so easy for survivors that are repairing inside generators, to easily hide whenever they see or hear a terror radius. The TD;LR is the inside generators are still too safe if the killer has a terror radius.

Haddonfield originally released very survivor sided and when there was the update to this map, it shifted strongly in favor to the killer. I understood the need for balance but completely shifting the weight so hard to the other side wasn't the way to do it.

History aside, this pallet update on this map was needed. The street became a dead zone once the 2-3 pallet loops were thrown. Adding more pallets around the "dead zone" areas outside the back of main was a warm welcome. Yes, the house loops with windows is the best way to run this map but with the updates a while back changing some windows to broken out walls to allow killers to traverse easier made them less strong for survivor.

Out of all the maps that had a pallet update, this one is most welcome from both survivor and killer side. It has the good balance of safe, safe (ish), and unsafe pallets.

Haddonfield is one of the most balanced maps after update imo. I don't feel like have no options as survivor now.

I think the pallet update on Haddonfield was needed. Houses are still pretty strong to loop in and now the road is strong but i think its fine.

For each of my ratings I'm going to break them down into two parts with info/map specific info afterwards.

    Tile Type:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    Pallet Density:⭐⭐⭐⭐❌

Overall: This change was almost perfect for Haddonfield. I have only one issue with the change and that's how you guys distribute middle road pallets. The road definitely needed the amount you gave it, but if I'm being critical in my feedback I do think the absolute center pallets should be spread more, as in all along the road instead of three strong pallets basically touching each other. It doesn't always happen, but when it does it's just kinda boring and someone will instantly eat them at the start of the match creating a dead zone.

Pallet update for this map was great, and helped the map feel a lot more fair. However I think the map is still too small and as such favors killers more, particularly mobility killers.

Haddonfield needed it desperately, but the size, building and gen placement make it a notoriously killer sided map still. The map is genuinely too small.

I will be honest Haddonfield is definitely the map that needed this the most since this map contained way too many dead zones that are like in the middle of the street so the map does feel pretty fair to play on now sometimes I say sometimes because you still have those situations where a pallet will spawn 5 m within another one like I have had a truck loop spawn within not even 5 m of the car loop that’s in front of the Myers house so while the map definitely feels more fair to play on now for both sides but dear god do they sometimes have the weirdest spawn logic

    • Haddonfield was one of the few maps that actually needed an increase in pallet density. The street and parks feel much more playable for Survivors now. I think the balance is a lot better now.

The Haddonfield pallets where really needed after the building where gutted. as a survivor main I do see too many pallets on some of the maps (biggest offender being autohaven imo) but Haddonfield changes are great

Map balance for Haddonfield feels nice. I don't dread it anymore either side I play. It feels fair.

mostly good but you could do with removing like one or two pallets from the middle or spreading them out a bit bettter IMO

  • HolyDarky

The pallet density update for Haddonfield feels good and fair. Before, the map could have no pallets in the middle which felt awful. Now, the middle and both gardens have good pallets to play around.

However, Haddonfield has other issues that were not fixed with the pallet density update even though there was the opportunity: the middle street lacks good line of sight blockers to have a better match up against range killers but also Nurse. The only line of slight blocker you can have is a truck but even this one is not guaranteed. In addition, these are also necessary to better sneak from one side to another or to manage a rescue. When a killer hooks a survivor in the open, there is very little room for survivors to rescue.

Lastly, the middle needs some locker placements since there is no locker and killers like Huntress or Trickster either need to go to edge map or into a house to reload while Dredge has nothing to teleport to.

So, if you plan to change the pallet density on this map, please consider these two issues and try to fix it by adding more trucks and put some lockers in the middle.

This is the only map that 100% NEEDED more pallets. It was very killer sided but now feels a lot better.

It's fine, kind of. The pallets helped, but it hasn't fixed the main issues with the map.

The map is still very small, linear and has extremely long sightlines, something old Haddonfield did not suffer from.

Adding more pallets is nice, but the map also needs to be bigger and have more LoS blockers.

I think the Haddonfield changes are fine and no need to go back on them. I do think Haddonfield needs a little more love like slightly increasing the maps size (though not to the size it was before), but in terms of the pallet update it's the map it worked the best for.

This map is mostly fine, I'd just remove one single pallet from the street and put it elsewhere, because there are still some corner deadzones.

I appreciate the additional qualifier you added here since it can be a balancing act. I'm making sure that's noted down.

This is great to hear! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for providing this additional context to your feelings on the map!

The pallet additions feel more fair on haddonfield. It had too little before, and all of its windows and main were nerfed. Even if there is a concentration in the street, it feels worthwhile to devote the time to get rid of them. The edge map pallets are good here too. Not too strong, not easily chain-able into other loops, and help make the perimeter more interesting.

Haddonfield feels very fine to play on after the update. Pallet distribution and spacing is pretty fair, and I think this map needs to be kept in its current form.

This map is MUCH nicer now in terms of pallets. There are still weak spots behind the houses opposite of main building that maybe could stand a slightly better spawn or two, but overall it's much better. Thank you for the update here!

Haddonfield did need more pallets in the middle, but including more safe pallets in the middle while the buildings stay strong for survs isn't the right way to go. Either nerf the pallet spawns or nerf the structures again and keep the pallets. Otherwise, if you realy want to keep the pallet count, make the loops less safe and more towards the middle instead of being on the edges, so they aren't as easy to string into the buildings.

Haddonfield is one of the few maps where this update actually works fine because the old version was just that killer sided. Overall this map is much better now, these changes should stay.

This is easily the one realm/map that benefits from the changes and the pretty unanimous votes solidify that. Legit every other realm should be entirely reverted with the exception of Borgo which would probably be best in a middle ground situation.

This map is pretty fair now but more line of sight blockers in the street would be nice, like put an 18 wheeler you can actually walk into, sort of like the bus loops, in the street that killers and survivors can use to get across the street without being seen from across the map.

In my opinion, this map has become much too full for its small size, one has the feeling of overabundance.

  • Fools_gold

The map is generally good, and it really needed these improvements, but I think the pallets should have been placed more evenly across the map instead of in the center.

The pallet balance has improved, but there are now too many pallets where mind games don’t work at all, leaving the killer with no options.

The pallet update did fix this map balance because before the strategy was just to hold w or forward and pre-run across the map. Having more pallets mean survivors are likely to stop at the loops just a little more engaging. But I would prefer their loops to be a little more risky as in the additional pallets on haddonfield should be 50/50s criticism would be that the map is a little overcrowded with stuff taking away from the aesthetic
