The Unknown Memento Mori Bug

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: There’s a recurring issue with The Unknown’s Memento Mori in Dead by Daylight. When performing the mori, the animation often becomes misaligned or breaks entirely, especially if the survivor is close to walls, trees, or other map objects. The camera can clip through the environment, characters may float or overlap, and sometimes the mori animation doesn’t play correctly at all.
Details:
- Happens on multiple maps, particularly in tight or cluttered areas.
- Both killer and survivor perspectives can experience visual glitches or broken camera angles.
- The issue affects overall immersion and makes the mori feel unsatisfying or confusing.
PLATFORM: PS5
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:
- Start a trial on any map with the above geometry (e.g., a map with narrow corridors or dense objects).
- Down a survivor normally (bleedout/downed state).
- Move the downed survivor (by leading the chase or forcing them into the location before downing) so the body is positioned right next to a solid object — for example, up against a wall, beside a tree trunk, inside a narrow alley, or next to a pallet/window frame.
- Variation A: Down the survivor while they are already hugging a wall or standing directly beside a tree.
- Variation B: Down the survivor on a slope, under a staircase, or between two close map objects.
- Stand in your usual mori range and activate The Unknown’s Memento Mori (use the killer’s mori input to start the final kill animation).
- Observe the mori animation from both perspectives if possible (use spectator, record, or have a friend watch):
- Watch the camera framing, the survivor’s model, and the environment interaction.
