BHVR…You really thought this change to Wicked was a good thing?
Ok let me start by saying something I said the last PTB when you tried to introduce the anti-tunnel/slug stuff:
I truly don’t know what tf y’all are thinking with this PTB as a whole. Like honestly, I am still questioning how much you play your own game (especially as Killer) vs just constantly being on Twitter.
Now I want to address one thing in particular: Wicked.
I’m so genuinely curious as to what you all thought would happen by making these changes to Wicked. You did nothing to make it non stackable with Resurgence and now Survivors can get off a Basement hook completely healed ON TOP of all the basekit anti-tunnel you just gave them. In what way did you think that this would be a healthy thing for the longevity of DbD which you are so concerned with?
There should be ZERO scenarios where you can unhook yourself and be completely healed from it.

Its a one use perk. On 1 hook in the entire map. That the killer can figure out if you are trying to get hooked there. And only works once. I'm not that convinced itl change the game entirely

You can self unhook only once, true.
But the heal works after every hook.

You can effectively only use the heal once too, considering Wicked is extremely obvious when it's used, even more obvious with Wicked + Resurgence and Killers can usually choose to carry you away from basement to hook you elsewhere. (though that depends on the map)
I'm personally not sure how strong it will be myself, I think the bigger problem with the combo might be Resurgence providing too much reliability to go with what should be a big gamble Perk setup, but we'll see how it pans out

Wicked is absolutely the problem here.
Both the old effect made basekit and the new one too.

Pretty sure that unless the hook is literally right outside shack, which isnt common at all, you ain't carrying a Survivor out of the back of basement successfully.
If the anti slug changes weren't coming in, then you have a fair point, but since they are, this is what we call a lose/lose for the killer, just have to let Survivors go down in basement like a scrub and have their free heal.
Not a big deal for the fast killers, they get a hook afterall... but major pain on the ass for the slow ones, who already tend go avoid basement cause it takes too long to walk in there and back out again for map pressure... even more so given the anti tunnel changes making it impossible to actually use any of the traditional benefits it give you too. Let's face it, basement sucks with this update unless you're someone like Trapper or Cannibal.

The problem is that Wicked was already a powerful perk because 1) going down basements means a huge time waste to nearly every killer no matter what they do, 2) hooking in basement means nothing as camping is completely useless and survivors can sit for free on gens since no one needs to rescue, and 3) you deny PainRes if you force the killer to hook you in basements while also delaying other perks such as Pop or DMS due to the position. Now, Wicked becomes even stronger by having 50% healing progress which means wasting less time with healing and spending more on gens. It adds more problems to the general issue that hooking punishes killers/makes survivors stronger. A trend that became stronger and stronger over the last few months with introducing other things like 70 seconds hook timer, buffed Resurgence, or do no harm.

There’s zero scenarios where a Survivor should be able to unhook themselves and be fully healed from it lol

Yea theres steves perk. Just takes a few seconds

Are you purposefully being dense, like trying low tier rage bait, or like are you actually this obtuse?
Second Wind is not the same as coming off of hook by yourself and being fully healed as your feet touch the ground lol

Whether or not all of this comes to live, there is no way that survivors will retain their off-hook benefits for 30 seconds with this combo on live. That's a bug. The off-hook protections are supposed to expire 3 seconds after you are healed to full, but they don't with this combo, and I seriously doubt that's intentional.
But Wicked is not the problem. It's Resurgence.
There is really no way to force the killer to hook you in basement without intentionally dying down there with Boil Over. You need friends with sabo toolboxes. This is a big opportunity cost for the team. It's one of the reasons Wicked is not a widely used perk, it's just way too hard to get the killer to put you down there if they don't want to, and a lot of killers will avoid hooking in basement if they don't intend to camp because it takes so long to get in and out of.
With Resurgence by itself, a single survivor could go for the unhook and heal you almost immediately. That's on live, doesn't require any setup, doesn't require anything.
Resurgence has been overpowered for months. It's a perk that directly punishes the killer for not camping and tunneling, it's just not a healthy design.
Would very much prefer if Wicked kept its benefits on PTB and Resurgence took the nerf instead.

Selfunhook is one of best effects survivors have, doesn't really matter it's only 1 when it removes all pressure from the killer.
It may be one hook, but nothing stops me from just running into the basement and enter last locker. In most maps killer won't be able to hook my anywhere else.
And with new update I will even get free unbreakable if killer won't hook me there.0 -
survivors will massively quit the game and survivor is the role you need 4 times as killers for the game to even be alive.
You fail to understand how this works at point we already have enough players in this game. Who do you think have more impact on leaving 1 survivor, or 1 killer?
Killer players leaving the game is going to have visible effect on the game way faster, because for every killer leaving there are 4 survivors without the game…-1 -
this perk combo is a nothing burger. If the killer is camping the basement they're going to hit you once on the way out and you'll be injured again, the exact same as if they had hit you with your endurance on the way out. If they aren't camping hte basement you could have dome the same thing with resurgence + a medkit allowing you to heal yourself in 7 seconds. potentially 3.5 seconds if you get a skill check with the green suture.
