2026 goal: Make 120FPS mode for current gen consoles.
Even though this is hard to do they should definitely consider adding a 120fps mode. Since it will help a lot competing with pc players. just a wish i have that hopefully gets implemented into the game hopefully in the coming year? even if they take until end of 2026 i just hope they add a 120fps mode for consoles.

That would be wonderful

this is something i would very much advocate for. playing on other games that support 120 fps console feel so smooth and then when i come back to dbd it feels more rough and choppy. would be the best part 2 to the console quality of life update after the kbm support that got added in the summer.

hopefully they do
hopefully they do add 120fps mode because it is really needed badly, especially for the current gen consoles. PS5, pro and xbox series X

on pc you can modify the game files to any FPS so the common frame rate on a pc is 240 frames per second. most players on pc are playing at a higher frame rate than 120 fps. so the fact that we are stuck on 60 fps on PS5 pro is just a HUGE disadvantage. I really hope we can AT LEAST achieve 120 FPS on ps5 pro. i know consoles aren't meant for high frame rate but it's become a common thing for games to run 120 fps nowadays and DBD is from 2016 so i feel like it should definitely be possible to achieve 120 fps at least on xbox series x and ps5 pro.

I agree with you. let's just hope someone from the develeping team see's this forum post and actually considers implementing 120 fps mode for consoles such as ps5 pro and xbox series x. i really hope they see this and act on it. Even if they need time, no problem but right now i'll just stick to playing this game on pc and try my best to avoid it on ps5 pro because it's not worth playing 60 fps. i feel it's so unfair for people who only have a console and i want them to at least have a fairer experience than what they are getting right now.

Someone may have created the longest thread in this Forum's history for just such a purpose.

I thought some of the newer generation of players may have been interested to know that people already tried this with BHVR.
They originally promised 60 FPS for Xbox One, PS4 and Switch. Which....never materialized.
They don't really do optimization, but if you want, I can link it and you can look at the thread and see the documentation of issues.

It could've, but DBD is perhaps the most poorly optimized game in existence, they promised this back in 2019. I don't think they are interested in optimizing further, either that or they can't without a lot of investment.
If I recall, DBD basically bottlenecks CPU's. I'd imagine that's the same thing that's happening to modern consoles. Its also why it still runs like garbage on PC.

on steam it runs worse than Epic games launcher. because of the controller support feature it makes it run worse. Get it on epic games and you will see how much smoother it is compared to steam. I have DBD running on ULTRA and 480 FPS and I don't get fps issues like steam.

I had such high hopes for that uber thread, and it felt awful when it ultimately came to nothing. 😕

Indeed.
Not surprised in hindsight.

Apparently there's some bugs tied to fps with movement. Because of that I've limited fps to 90. Steam version.
Asking for 120fps may be asking for more issues that bhvr will never fix.

It's not that I can't do 120 or even higher. It's that there are detrimental bugs when fps fluctuates.
