What are some easy killers to play as on controller
As someone who has been playing the steam version of Dead by Daylight on a controller for quite a long time now, I've been wondering what killers that are in the roster are rather easy to play on a controller and what are some killers that you don't recommend playing on controller at all?

Any killer that doesn't require precise aiming or quick turning are playable with a controller to be successful against decent survs, if you put in the time. So those who rely on basic attacks mostly, and with supreme effort those types can be mastered.
I've always considered Trickster and Singularity both best avoided, and maybe Nurse. Opinions differ on killers like Blight and Wesker and Chucky as there's a few so-called Techs that would require a mouse with 8 million DPI being flung across the desk to perform. Recent changes to Oni's turning has made him more dangerous in power with a controller. Krause is very playable although harder to cheese hits with.
The Aim Dressing messing with hits up close while the surv is doing something strange in front of you is more pronounced. Dealing with Boil Over also is a much bigger problem with a controller.
Hope this helps!

Im on MK but I heard xenomorph, pinhead and nurse are kninda hardcore on controller, some say blight but I have seen lilith do some same flicks with him both on MK and controller, singularity is deffinitely hard on controller. Easy ones I think all basic m1 killers without any specific powers that are mechanicaly hard like pinhead (maybe dreadge can be bad with teleports).

Ranged killlers are hard. I can't hit a bot that's standing in a corner with Trickster. Huntress and Deathslinger are only marginally better. It's kinda infuriating because I came to dbd from shooters and I have decent precision, but not in this game. Nurse and Billy are also tricky, but I've got a buddy who's great with both Billy and Huntress. It's doable, it's just how much effort and practice you want to put forth.
I haven't really had any noticeable trouble with any of the other killers that I've played.

Pretty much every Killer can be played on a controller, in my experience.
Some just can't hit their maximum potential.

îve played a bit like you recently. in my experience this is what i feel. I didnt play all the killers so this is just what i remember.
hillbilly, krasue, plague, legion are all fine and playable as far as i can remember. They generally dont require flicks or precise aim, just good cursor positioning. But you may need to increase the sensitivity.I think i was most comfortable on krasue. She was fine and well on controller. The projectile attack isnt too hard unless you go for direct shots.
The absolute worst experience i remember was on wesker. This is not about hug techs. He just needs a mouse for the twitchy movements.I’d assume that simple killers like pig, wraith, all should be fine as well. Just as long as the killer doesnt require very fast mouse movement. That being said, those killers are still better on mouse.

I would say aside from your standard M1 killers, Billy, Ghoul and maybe Oni are strong picks that are doable on controller.
Reworked Myers too0 -
I love Nemesis on controller because I can strafe to get use out of his tentacle. I think it's the one ranged attack that is correctable and thus usable for me.

I play on a controller and I've found wraith pretty easy to play on a controller. Also, plague since her puke doesn't require the same sort of aim as somebody like huntress.

I have played most of the original cast on PS4 and have found Knight and Clown to be the strongest without being frustrating. Knight's guards are much easier to create a path for now than at launch, and they sort of act like a projectile you have full control over. He is my favorite killer right now and I have no problems controlling him on controller. I say he is the best on controller due to his ease of use with good reward and recommend him if his gameplay appeals to you.
Clown doesn't require high accuracy, especially since his latest update that prioritizes yellow bottles since you are trying to hit yourself and not the survivors. Bottles are easy to aim in general.
If you really want to play a projectile killer, Artist actually controls very well. I just don't play as her because I don't like her gameplay. Her aiming is responsive and smooth.
Dredge, Leatherface, Doctor, Wraith, Trapper, Hag, Skull Merchant, and Legion all feel fine but are not strong. Plague just feels kind of bad. Don't know how to explain it.
Hillbilly is strong but difficult to curve with, but his controls translate well to controller. Demogorgon, Wesker, Executioner, and Oni are tough because you can't "flick". Singularity and Unknown are difficult to aim with.
Do not play Deathslinger or Twins. Aiming with them is frankly just not possible on controller.
Have been playing Dracula in 2v8 and have to say he actually does not take long to get used to. Felt ok after like 4 games. Not easy to aim Hellfire though. Wolf form felt fine.

Pretty much any of the ranged killers (other than Plague) should be avoided (though I do okay with Huntress on PS5) on controller. Nurse is kinda rough, and I don't bother with Oni. Some have mentioned the Executioner, but I do really well with him on PS.
Though I think a distinction should be drawn in this conversation between "controller" as a generality and console.
As someone who plays on both PS5 and PC, I can tell you that sitting on my couch with my wireless DualSense (and relative lack of controller optimization) and playing on PC with a wired tournament style controller are very different experiences. Even controller on PC is well above console when it comes to precision and responsiveness, and your ability to tweak.
100%. Being on console won't stop you from finding some level of success with any of the killers, it's just the the top level you can achieve with each will vary, regardless of your skill as a player.

Avoid playing trickster

Killers without precision shots are nice on controller, but often weak. Trapper, Hag, Doctor, Onryo, Skull Merchant, Ghoul, Shape, Ghostface, Knight, Singularity to name a few.

honestly, i've found that the muscle memory i had from the mouse and keyboard learning nurse translated very well to the controller. so if you already know how to play nurse, you might find that the controller isn't so bad. whether or not she's the easiest or if others see it that way i'm not so sure. i'm not a big controller player.

For Ranged Killers on a controller you can play Huntress, Deathslinger, Unknown, Artist fairly good with a lil practice on controller.
But like I said before don't bother with Trickster it's like trying to hit a Fly with a Dart and your hands are covered in butter.
