I have to keep telling myself I love Trapper
I just watched a survivor run through a bear trap for what feels like the millionth time. I've put up with a lot for this game because I want to love it, but sometimes I need to be reminded why stuff like this happens while I watch killers like Huntress land hatchet hits on survivors that clearly missed.

Oof. Painful. I have no idea what could be done to help trapper without compromising BHVR intention with this killer. They don't want him too complicated to play or face. They need to balance the game ending scenario of a basement/main building lockdown. I don't think BHVR knows what to do with him either.
However, there is NO reason this trap shouldn't have worked.

Hope his rework will add him something good like mayers one did and wont give him just 3 trap variants that will be garbage or will still keep his key problems as current ones have.

I mean obviously not but I've been hearing these stories a lot more recently and im worried for them and their mains

Hag got nerfed a few months ago in a way that did 2 things to her power:
- Survivors can destroy Phantasms by slamming pallets on them.
- When using the Scarred Hand add-on, which makes Phantasms have collision with survivors, Survivors can pass right through the phantasms for 3 seconds if they get struck by the killer first.
That 2nd nerf to Hag has me wondering if, in the spaghetti code of this game, that nerf to hag affected Trapper in the same way, i.e. Survivors can pass over traps if they were recently struck by the killer.
OP, did you hit that survivor before they went over that trap, or did it just not activate?

This reminds me of old dead hard letting you go through bear traps. I guess they added this 'bug' as basekit now?

I just think they need to scale up the model and Hitbox of the Traps by like 15% and this problem would never happen again.

No, it was a healthy survivor. I was playing 2v8 with a friend during this instance but it happens regardless of the gamemode or realm pretty often.

This feeling when traps are not working when it supposed to, or in opposite, it just stick to you like a magnet even if you were 3m apart.
Maybe it’s because traps hitboxes collides with textures collision and therefore shift. Or it’s a bug dependent from the angle you place a trap. Not sure0 -
Traps are buggy "at the moment". There is several issues you can experience:
- Traps not working even when people run through them.
- Traps vacuuming people, although they were quite the distance away.
- Traps not visible at all as survivor (they pop up the moment you get trapped).
- Traps visible but the trap snap happens literally 1m next to them and teleports survivors into the trap only then (as if the trigger had a radius like Hag).

This is sounding like a De-sync issue, wherein as Trapper, you are placing the trap in a specific spot, but for the survivors it's not showing up in that spot, and the servers are having trouble deciding if it's actually there or not. Like when we had Map RNG de-sync issues back in the patch before Springtraps release, and some map objects were appearing for survivors, but the killer couldn't see them, and were running into invisible walls. Thinking back on Hag traps, It makes me wonder if she's having similar issues right now or not.

I've had this plenty too - very frustrating. On the flip side I've also had as survivor being vaccumed into a trap that had no disarm option
