Well killer whining has done it again.
More good mechanics cancelled and now the games back to proxy camp tunnel city. They even are taking pallets away from maps. I hope you're happy now. The games going to be even more miserable and busted for killers. Yayyy…

and still survivors will complain while still Qing up match after match and refusing to actually counter such tactics. when will people learn? tunneling will always remain so my advice is learn to counter it or get tunneled….or just dont play.
-13 -
There IS no counter. None. If killer proxycamps and decides to down you off hook there is zero counterplay. You are dead regardless of skill.
14 -
Y'all got like 30 pallets on some maps now making it physically impossible for half the killer roster to catch you and you're still crying?
-10 -
1 person on hook while other 3 are on gens then they go rescue last second. killer hooks again and repeat by that time there is 1 or 2 gens left, survivors can try to take hits so if the killer loses the dead on hook survivor he loses the match if he succeds then is 3 survivors 1 gen left. If you cant loop of course is another story.
-8 -
Yeah try to show that to an uncoordinated solo q team with no form of communication.
13 -
You can still fight it with good looping, if you die and killer doesnt get more kills then he still lost and now after current ptb hits live proxy camping wont be good strategy either unless you are basement bubba.
If you want to dont end up tunneled and killed fast just play safe and be hard to be found and most important hard to get if you loop very good and run into strong places like shach or main many experienced killers will reconsider the chase if there is better option and then even if you die you can still buy enough time for your teammates to get out so killer will still suffer the lost, you died but if 3 are out you won basicaly but I get many people tend to see survivor role as solo objective and not as team work that is needed for greater results, but I dont think this will make you reconsider your vision on what is win as your opinion on springtrap being just mediocre killer that can suck and not being new ghoul.
-10 -
Well hope killers are ready for dc city to continue until maybe one doesn't abuse these busted mechanics.
-4 -
Nice ragebait attempt.
11 -
for there to be NO counter it would mean tunneling would work 100% of the time so killers would be getting 100% kill rate which i know killers are not getting 100% kill rate.
i play almost exclusively solo survivor the past few months and im countering tunneling pretty often.
the counter for when your the one being tunneled….
- stealth….killer cant tunnel what they cant find so if you remove the chase before it starts, problem solved.
- when in chase, lose line of sight. there are perks that help with this.
- practice looping, if the killer spends too much time looping you, they will either give up chase or they will end up losing the match.
- take the chase AWAY from the gens so others can do them while your being chased.
when your not being tunneled…..
- do gens and do them fast.
- dont unhook too soon, use the hook timer to your advantage to do gens then unhook just before 2nd stage.
- dont play too altruistically, help the team if it benefits you. if you can do the last gens while the killer is tunneling someone out then do the gens and escape.
if more people did pretty simple things that meant the killer would end up with 2k at best then killers wouldnt tunnel so often because it wouldnt be worth it. If no gens are being done while your being tunneled and on hook then thats an issue with your team mates, not tunneling.
1 -
yeah solo experience is garbage, we agree on that.
13 -
All I see is just someone who I guess plays survivor mostly and not as killer against competend survivor teams to whine about some killers wanting something too isnt just one sided hypocrisy.
-4 -
Killer is too brainless and easy to 4k or 3k every match. So yes I play survivor because its much more challenging.
1 -
enjoy the challenge then :)
3 -
That's definitely a skill issue then. If you want the harder challenge then you shouldn't be complaining then about camping or tunneling then. Or are you one of those gamers that plays dark soul like games on the easiest settings?
5 -
All depends who you play against thats it and especialy with what you play (perks, addons, items or killer) and where you play (like trapper will suck more on erie of crows more than on midwich) so it all depends, if you will play killer against 20+ thousands hours swf it wont be easy especialy if they are coordinated and know what they are doing or as killer against few hours survivors while having few thousands of hours so its not so easy for everyone same (someone playing mainly ghostface against very good survivors will have different experience than someone playing blight against those same or simular survivors). So in short this hasnt simple answer its all about many circumstances that determine this in the end.
-5 -
Which isn't what survivors were asking for. Survivors were asking for a better game, not more pallets.
If killers asked for buffs to the D tier killers, and then BHVR just randomly buffed Nurse, I wouldn't expect the killer players to be happy with the decision.
11 -
people have been asking for buffs for D tier killers for years, killers like trapper lol. who gets buffs? literally every single killer other than trapper.
-2 -
And does that make the killers who want Trapper to be buffed happy?
7 -
I’m playing a lot of survivor. And often get tunneled. Believe me, it’s possible in Solo.
Maybe you should share with your gameplay so we can see the level of unfairness you complaining on so much.-4 -
dont have to be happy about it, just need to accept it. if killers are not happy with the state trapper is in, dont play trapper….which many dont to be fair
-5 -
1: We're having the same issue as in the other thread were you aren't looking at statements in the context of the thread. I'm responding to Zuiphrode's point that survivors should be happy with the pallets they got, and I'm pointing out a killer example to show why that doesn't make sense.
2: Given this argument, what reason is there to post on a discussion forum? Just either accept what BHVR throws your way or stop playing.
1 -
We have to face facts. DBD is a cashcow for the Devs. They don't really care about what's fun or fair, so long as people keep giving them money. If you're unhappy with the direction the game is going, don't punish yourself and stop playing. Play, just don't give them a single penny of your hard earned cash.
If one of the main causes for people uninstalling my game was tunneling and slugging, I'd try my best to fix it.
7 -
Might just be me but I really dont understand how people still believe that complaining about changes has any sort of influence on what BHV does. It just isnt how they operate, they even stated that themselves multiple times during Dev Diarys and proved so in the last couple of years.
If the devs decide that after the next PTB using dead Hard will also autocomplete 4 gens then that is the changes that will make it into the game. And if they decide, they dont want strong antitunnel, we dont get strong antitunnel.
So people should honestly just stop always pointing the fingers at the other side cause it makes 0 sense. If you want to be mad that you dont get strong antitunnel, be mad at the devs and point at them.
-8 -
The problem is how the game is stuck in this weird middle ground. They keep gradually trying to balance the game like it's a comp tournament but they won't add a credible matchmaking system. This means that killers are free to beat up on teletubbie survivors with tactics that players of that skill level can't reasonably counter. I wouldn't really care about them not doing anything if we had a good matchmaking system that puts sweaty killers against sweaty survivors in nearly every match. I hope the MMR adjustments do something….anything really.
5 -
Honestly, its kinda weird how im sure if the ptb stuff went through they'd say the same to some other killer posting their disagreement with it
0 -
This is 100% untrue. If I play pretty much any killer other than the very top-tier against good survivors who know how to loop, tunneling results in 1 kill because the other three I’m not chasing simply get all the gens done while I’m wasting all my time chasing the one target. Tunneling only works when survivors can’t sustain chases and their teammates refuse to do gens while the killer is occupied.
-7 -
Oh, without a doubt, they would be saying the exact same thing if the changes went through.
I'm still going to tell them to cope and sethe, because I saw this guy complaining about killers using Lightborn a few weeks ago, so either he is a rage baiter or is one of the people who saw YouTube clips of survivors breaking killers ankles and unfortunatly got a rude awakening when they found out that the game is actually a lot more difficult than the content farms would have you believe.
-8 -
The point is camping and tunneling is overkill. Most of the killer roster is very strong if you know how to use the killer you play. It's not needed at all to 3 or 4k. That's why there's complaints across this site. If you don't have comms its impossible to escape almost.
9 -
They weren't good mechanics though anyone who has played the game for 5 minutes looked at those ideas an realised how bad they were and how they would be abused.
-7 -
Rick had a loooooooot of fun 🤩
7 -
my point exactly, assuming that was a tunneling killer, p100 and got 2k. hardly a winning strategy.
-13 -
It's still not fun for the unfortunate soul who gets stuck with it, Something so disgusting shouldn't be allowed in a game
14 -
then maybe survivor isnt for them? or practice losing line of sight, stealth.
-20 -
Woooow p100, noed, shoving someone back to the lobby, and still only getting a 2k. I hope I never embarrass myself this hard.
12 -
I want to make sure I understand everyone's perspective, and for you, I believe you want to continue doing things in the game the majority of players consider to be damaging. Tunneling/camping/slugging has been a thing forever. It wasn't complained about forever, but it gained traction.
My theory is with more players coming to the game, more 'types' of players come. Now, we have too many 'competitive/win above having fun' types that its just mixing oil and water, and now BHVR has no idea how to fix anything, only band aid and forget.
We can all keep arguing about one side or another, but if you are, then you care very little about the health of the game, only your own stimuli from dbd. That's all fine. But arguing one side or another is like yelling into the void. Go for it! Feel better! Your thoughts are as relevant as everyone else's that think like you.
To everyone who thinks about both sides and not trying to keep tempers flaring, cheers! Feels like you have the big picture in view, not just one side or the other. Feels like a cesspool of fragile ego and toxicity. If only BHVR would use logic and intelligence to make changes instead of pure data and -insert X main-.
Anyway, here's hoping the game just… gets better. Hope people can enjoy the game instead of trying to make it miserable.

Stealth? In this day and age?
Last I checked, there is a lot of aura read in the game, rendering hiding/stealth almost useless, unless you are in a locker.
Popping a fog vial just paints a big target on your location, and who runs Boon: Shadow Step these days?13 -
or learn to stop tunneling and actually learn how to be a better killer without needing to tunnel???
10 -
You have a 25% chance of being the survivor getting tunneled and a 75% chance of not being the one tunneled.
Doesn't mean all killers tunnel every survivor all game every game.
If you're the "chosen one" it's bad luck or bad play like unsafe unhooks when previously hooked and currently injured.
Like me not all killers tunnel but survivors brought this and slugging on themselves with the constant moaning about gen regression perks.
0 -
Allow me to adjust: Well, whining has done it again.
Not every killer main wanted all loops to be 50/50.
2 -
So, 16 meter anti-camp radius was big enough?
The Clown was standing just on the edge of the anti-camp range, just far enough to not trigger it.
Is this sort of gameplay okay? Also, there was a 3-gen next to the basement, so winning against that was impossible.
Not to mention that he had end-game perks as well, in addition to Agi + Iron Grasp14 -
Most of the killer roster is very strong? No.
-13 -
Nothing has been cancelled it is still being worked on. The game survived for a decade with tunneling and camping, it will survive until the new system is ready.
-12 -
Based on the this segment on the live stream, they are priotizing different changes first and see then if and how it affects tunneling and slugging. The wording is quite clear that it's not worked on for the near future. Basicly cancelled.
9 -
We're at the point where if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Let the game become just like when Strip Mine was legal in Magic: The Gathering. You lose enough times to Strip Mine until you start running it yourself. Now the winner is determined by whoever plays Strip Mine first. The entire game is now just one card.
DBD builds will now become solely tunnel and anti-tunnel, and that's all DBD will be. Diversity will be gone. Let it happen. Just run anti-tunnel perks as survivor. Why run anything else?
3 -
Camping change went live, no?
And we got at least unhook protection extended and I wouldn't say extra 5 seconds is low value. I am used to playing with Babysitter, so that helps a lot.
Pallet change is 100% an issue, but you should blame devs for this one, that has nothing to do with killer mains. People just asked for revert of previous change on most of those maps.
It's definetly devs fault for using nuke on pallets instead and creating this buggy mess.-6 -
sure, when survivors learn to win without looping then you can tell killers to win without tunneling
-12 -
Aren't you the guy who claims to win nearly every match by hiding and not engaging in chase at all?
Sounds an awful lot like "not looping" to me...
Pick a stance and stick with it.
20 -
yes stealth is still viable, my entire playstyle is based on stealth while still doing gens and i dont use stealth perks so its very much an option in this day and age. most killers use gen slow down perks so its rare they use actual aura reading. at best they seem to rely on killer instinct which only tells the killer your rough location.
tips on stealth
- walk dont run, scratch marks will give you away.
- when in chase, lose line of sight, walk to lose the killer and mix running with walking behind walls it varies depending on the situation.
- pre run or pre walk…when killer heading your way when your a gen, walk away and make sure killer doesnt have line of sight.
- when you scream or think your aura has been read by the killer, start thinking of an obscure place nearby because the killer is probably going to head in your direction.
stealth play is very situational so its not a 1 rule fits all, takes judgement, game sense, map knowledge, it takes many things but its very much a possibility
-10 -
i can do it, im talking about other people that complain about tunneling but cant win without looping.
my point is we do what we need to do, some need to tunnel, some need to loop, some need to stealth. i dont care what people need to do if it works for them. but when someone says "learn to win without doing this" then i fire it back at them, "you try winning without looping" or "try winning without any perks" or "try winning without comms" (if they regularly use comms).
-6 -
How are those things equivalent?
Looping isn't even a solely survivor skill, both players engage with looping in every match because it's one of the major design pillars of DBD.
That's not to say it's the only skill expression, it isn't, but it is a necessary type of skill expression in order to be good, for both sides. If we're going to look for a survivor equivalent to tunnelling, then first we have to admit that there isn't one in a literal sense because tunnelling is basekit and there's nothing in the survivor basekit like it (a good thing, ftr), but even expanding out into loadouts the equivalent would be something like toolbox builds, nothing chase-related.
The skill expression killers get to circumvent by tunnelling is pretty much everything in the macro (tracking, pressure, map resource management, etc) and also a good chunk of the chase-focused skill expression by starting chases that are stacked in their favour.
Survivors don't really have anything like that, but brute-forcing their objective with toolboxes would be the closest they come.12
